THANK YOU! I bought the Manba One 2 months ago online and couldn’t tell if it was V1 or 2. This is the 1st video to make the distinction (other than opening it to look at the printed control board). Without comparing the two side by side it’s impossible for me to tell. Glad to know I got the V2! Thank you for all the in-depth videos. You do Excellent work and I appreciate your attention to detail. I hope you keep doing what you do to keep us informed. And, I hope your headache is gone - for good!
Yup, the headache went away as I was editing the video a couple hours after filming ahahah! I would've thought it would've made it worst but nope... Thanks for the kind words too!
“You’ve got 2 inches, use it” love how in depth your reviews are. I’m looking at this one and the Vader 4 for casual gaming with my kids on the switch and mwmobile on iOS.
Totally my sense of humor, I could've planted that intentionally but it's so much more funnier that I totally didn't! 😂 Good catch :D These are two very solid contenders to have. I'd say value would be the one breaking it down. The Vader 4 Pro is superior as far as I am concerned, but at a cost too. If you're ok with the feature set of the Manba, that V2 is no slouch!
MANBA!!! Please implement hwinfo reporting on the One V3! This is an AWESOME suggestion @Craigrobbo2k7 I seriously hope they see this and consider implementing it, no one does that and we all know how much PC gamers like to keep an eye on the PC vitals!
I just got mine, and I love it. Although, I can't imagine why Manba thought it was a good idea to add that horribly loud BEEP to the dock. It scares me every time! :)
It looks like Mamba did a solid job of upgrading their controller. I'm not going to lie; I'd love to see Mamba upsize the screen to 3.5 inches or so, stick an H700 or equivalent SoC in there, and sell this as the world's most ergonomic retro handheld. It's funny; outside of those Chinese PS Portal knockoffs and the occasional homebrew, the "it's a full size controller with a screen" format is decidedly missing in action. I'm going off topic though. To get back on topic; this was a solid review. I respect what Mamba has done here. I've also just realized that I've been misspelling their name this entire time. Manba, not Mamba. **Le sigh**
😂 A "sigh" is that much greater when injected with a bit of "zeh french". Yeah, I gotta say, I was not expecting the upgrades to be this good overall, they did a great job indeed. However, not that I want to move away from the video's topic... Matt. That idea of yours? I WANT IT! How does it not exist already?!?... I wonder if GameMT watches my videos, maybe they'll be the first to do it? 😅 Dang, my mind is racing now. I WANT THIS!!! T-T
Hello friend! A question: How do I distinguish between the Manba One Ver 1 vs the Manba One Ver 2? I ask because they are selling it on Aliexpress, but it doesn't indicate that it is version 2.
Great review! I feel like this controller could rival the Vader 4 Pro. What do you think? Also would you make a video/post about recent bugs or problems on some controllers if they happen to occur? Thanks!
As long as aiming is not your main focus, I'd say it holds up nicely to it. Especially when considering some of it's unique benefits like the screen, the dock and a better "on-the-fly" adjustment approach. But the Vader 4 Pro also has 2 more buttons, far superior sticks and addressable tension, amazing software support. It's also more expensive in general. If you play a lot of FPS, I'd still strongly recommend the Vader 4 Pro, if you don't and mostly play games where aiming is not the focus, I'd say it is a viable option over the Vader 4 Pro, especially for it's quality-of-life features. Edit: What @primeinterests8313 said
Funny that I came back to this comment, I just sat down from filming some footage for it. It's coming very soon but it'll be a quadruple feature video. X05, X10, X15 and X20.
🫡 Happy to serve the community! To have the occasion to sometimes teach is a privilege for me, thanks for letting me know I provided you with something of value!
Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing for sure but I've tried to gather feedback and everyone that bought one in the recent month or two seem to all have received a V2. It seems safe to say that it will be.
It is overall bulkier, it's more "full bodied" but with pleasing contouring. Definitely one of the strong suits of this controller, it's ergonomically very very well designed. If you are looking for something very "Xbox like", I'd say this one differentiates itself enough that it is not it, but if on the other hand, you're looking for an alternative, that's definitely one to try!
@@GameTechTalk i just returned an 8bit do cuz it was too small so im happy i made the choice replacing it qith this arrives friday as long as its about the same size as xbox i am happy
As far as I know, and I know this answer's gonna suck, but it seems to be a leap of faith, I could not find any defining factors of which that one gets. Even more confusing, people have reported getting the V2 but the description clearly is not adjusted to match the changes that the V2 has.
Thanks for the review and feedback, I was torn between the two colors but I ordered the white controller because it had a discount on it. I hope its not because its a v1. Which color do you personally prefer since you had both?
@@corolex I originally requested the white one. It looks great but it scratches fairly easy. Also, in some lighting conditions, it can look a bit cheap. It wasn't until seeing the black one in a TikTok that I realized the curves on the body really give that color a very nice look overall. It's funny you asked cause that was genuinely a whole thought process I went through a couple months back so when they reached out for V2, I thought: "Here's my chance to right my wrong ahaha".
I'll say like I said to another commenter, if going for value and overall cost, the Manba One V2 is extremely robust a solution. If you don't mind investing the extra cost, I do believe the Vader 4 Pro to be a superior controller overall, but with elevated cost to match, if that makes sense.
No lies this thing is such a good value I really just wanna go pull the trigger and order one now. Saw your give away on these but I mean at 70 bucks your getting a lot of goodness and it's totally worth that price in fact it wouldn't surprise me if these get more expensive in due time. One question I have is does this basically do the same or similar as something like a cronus zen since you can do macros? I have a cronus zen that I mostly use for single player stuff and although the zen has Bluetooth built in I tend to use usb most of the time and I don't think the Bluetooth works with Xbox but does work with Playstation 5 controllers. I'm wondering if this can be used wired or if the usb dongle will work with the cronus zen or can this replace the zen entirely? No matter what the answer is I'm likely buying one anyways just because I like everything about it that much!!!
Ps I just recently bought one of the onexplayer x1s like your using on this video with the 8840u chip hopefully getting it Monday. This is after returning the legion go because I couldn't cope with just the 16gb of ram and there being no other option lost me as a legion go customer, fortunately I traded my legion go into best buy for a great open box deal on a legion 5 slim gaming laptop that had basically a similar ryzen 7 apu with the 780m graphics but also a rtx 4060 and 8gb of vram. Not to mention the 780m performs boat loads better in the laptop because it's actually getting the proper wattage it needs aka 60watts at max.
I haven't owned a Cronus since the 360 era but I'd say no, it's not as complex in terms of macros. The macros you get there would be good for say a hadouken in Street Fighter or, placing one block in creative on Minecraft. You wouldn't be able to prevent idle kick or farm a game by letting it "work for you". If I recall, macros on the Manba One accept up to 20 inputs, which is decent on the landscape of current controllers.
Beitong Kunpeng is better than this one. Above all, beitong will probably support stable and long-term software. Unlike manba, no user support, its v1 is really bad.
I always thought that one licenses the tech to the other, in which case I would assume that they both evolve simultaneously. I am aware of the Beitong, but I have not laid hands on it to know if it is only identical in look, but also in components.

It would be nice if the docking station was like the 8Bitdo one, which allows you to double it as a receiver.
That would've been such a great upgrade, definitely a missed opportunity as far as I am concerned.
