Nice rack. I miss RadioShack. Those days when they had a 368 PC, and later a 486, playing games in the front of the store.

Sounds like we are of the same era! The internet is great but I really miss being able to get parts out of the bins at Radio Shack and look at all of the components and kits they had.

Flashbacks from the under-the-desk clip. Also, I'm in the process of organizing my shop and getting my hammers to hang out together. This is perfect. New subscriber!

Another great project. I sense professional software development in your history. I am sure we could trade many war stories. 🤣

Thanks! And yes, about twenty years of corporate software work in telecom. Crazy business!

Love the philosophy: gotta be easy to get and easy to put away. And you gave me an idea from which to begin. Thanks.

Glad to help! Grabbing things in the way you will use them saves time and also makes the French cleat mounts narrower. Go build cool stuff for your shop!

Great idea to hang the hammers front to back and reduce the space they take up. I have got to redo my hammer holders now.

Super easy to build and use, and it's made hammer access pretty simple. We were using it yesterday without even thinking about the hammer holder. Another plus is that it is so easy to put hammers back that we tend to return the to the rack immediately after use now, keeping the shop cleaner.

When deciding the order of the hammers, did you give consideration to placing the most regularly use ones in the outside slots? That would make it even easier to grab the handles.

    • @AtomicDairy

I did think about that but we build so many different things that I decided to just order them by type. I may change that someday but it's working for me in this configuration now.
