I was given a copy of death world 1 as a birthday present from my very first girlfriend when I was 11. I am autistic and have read this book over 300 times, i am 46 now. I love Harry Harrison and hope one day they will make a movie of his work. The rights to deathworld were purchased a long time ago, but no movie has ever been attempted. I remember back in the late 1990s looking on Harry Harrison's website hoping that one day they would make the book into reality. Thanks for uploading this.
That is outstanding! I would also love to see Harrison's work on the big screen. For me it would have to be the Stainless Steel Rat series though. (a couple of those are available on this channel as well).
The sequel, The Ethical Engineer, is also here. Hope you enjoy! There is a third book called The Horse Barbarians, which I will be sure to expedite as soon as it is available to me.
This particular rendition was read for you by Gregg Margarite (1957-2012). He was a prolific voice talent for these kinds of things and most of his work in this area was done completely voluntarily with no compensation. We all owe him a huge thank you!
Many of Harry Harrison books and stories move along at a rapid pace. I think this was part of his creative process in keeping the story focused from the perspective of the protagonist. More towards the other end of this spectrum would be authors like E.E. "Doc" Smith who provides broad sweeping histories and complex political relationships such as are found in his Lensman series. But if you are enjoying the fast paced adventures of Jason DinAlt then you might also enjoy The Ethical Engineer which is also available on this channel as well as much of the Lensman series.
The second book, The Ethical Engineer, is available here but as of this time the third one is unavailable to me. I will certainly post it when that changes. Fortunately, these works do stand alone quite well.
I don't mind a fast paced story but I think the comments were that the narrator is speaking too quickly. If that was the intent of the comment then I agree. However slowing it down 0.75 x normal speed is way too slow so I will put up with the slightly too fast narration as this is one of my favourite Harry Harrison novels.
@@ThinkplankScienceFictionAudio Very insightful. Harrisons pace jambs his story sandwich very full of creative deli meat. I’ve tried the Lensmen a few times, but I just can’t maintain the diligence necessary to keep reading..
I can only assume that you have a distaste for the included images. They are the only thing here that has had AI assistance. This book was written by Harry Harrison (born Henry Maxwell Dempsey) (1925 - 2012) and it was read for this recording by Gregg Margarite (1957-2012). I am afraid that if you have been put off by my feeble attempts to add some artwork then you have completely missed the point.

Yay, I haven’t read these. Harrison is such a superior writer. 😍

Does anyone know who read this? I dont think it's mentioned.

Good story. Proceeds a little fast. Otherwise good story.

I just listened to it. Went searching for the 3rd ❤book.

Gregg Margarite has an odd accent, nut he is 100% human.
@@Instrumentals4Sale ,
"100% human " 🤔
It's actually 43% human, same as the rest of us.
Over half the cells in our bodies are not human.
Fun fact 🤓
