abhisaar ji- as far as i know the criteria to categorize a film as flop or average or normal, hit or super hit or all time block busters is the cost of the movie v's the returns of the movie.
#1- flop - If a film earns less than 50% of the cost.
#2- average - if a film earns between 51-100% of the cost.
#3-normal - if a film earns to cover the cost of the film and makes over a small percentage as profit.
#4- hit - If a film earns cost plus 100-150% of the cost as profit.
#5- super hit - if a film earns cost plus 200-500% of the cost as profit.
#6- ATBB - If a film earns cost plus 500+ % of the cost as profit.
This calculation is one i got from some of the film trade analysts as far as earnings are concerned- but there are films which do not make money but still are loved and appreciated by the film goers for its contents, story or any other aspect.
Now as per you the film Dunki made 500 crores on a cost of 100 crores then it falls under the 5th category of super hit- just because it didn't make 1000 crores which has come to be associated with SRK it does not become a flop , yes its expectations were too high because 2 of the top people came together and it fell below expectations but nevertheless it was a decent movie unlike many of the films of some of the so called stars which are churned out from the factory as you mentioned earlier.
Honestly i am not a big fan of SRK and i was a big fan of AK and AD from their earlier days but i was too much disappointed by AK not just for his films but also for his off reel activities and AD was not so much disappointing as AK but still i am disappointed by him for some of his films but mostly for his off reel activities.

Aamir acha actor hai lekin usko solo role me abhi koi accept nahi karta. Last solo release PK thi jo Raju Hirani ke content ke wajah se chali thi. Aur Aamir script ke upar uthke kuch special nahi de sakta. Challenging roles mein uski limitations pata chal jati hain. For eg 3 idiots, PK aur Laal singh Chadha mein unhone young and active characters play karne ke liye same expressions (aankhein badi kar lena, ajeeb tarike se hasna) dete hue perform kiye hain.
Aur Dhoom 3 ki to baat hi nahi karte. Usme unhone jo autistic character play kiya hain wo bohot jyada artificial lag raha tha.
