However, in most security systems, I use the System Sensor i3 smoke detectors. The System Sensor i3 is base wired. With that said, the System Sensor i3 has a detachable head. What is so significant about that? Everyone has done this. You've done this, I've done this. I have a security system in my house and every time I do work that might generate fog or dust, I stand on a step ladder or a piano stool and twist off the smoke detector head and drop it in a desk drawer so I don't set it off on accident and then put it right back when finished.
