They were both pretty succesful but pliosaurs were probably better at hunting larger prey as to where plesiosaurs would have been fast and agile pliosaurs would not have had the same agility.
Well yeah, even though it was technically named in honor of David A., really the entire family can brag… their name is now memorialized forever in paleontology. Lol. That’s epic. I wonder if other animals, extant or extinct, have been named after the family?
I would love to see covered the opposite of this situation, where there is derived Plesiosaurs called the Polycotylids that have short necks and long powerful jaws!
The prehistoric seas were just as interesting as the land in my opinion. Especially in the Triassic.

A tribute to Richard Attenborough?
David Attenborough actually.
@@e.ggamerguy5793 Still, his brother would be proud, thanks to his work on Jurassic Park.

Nice...keep up the good work.
I love your stories. Have you done Dacentrurus or Corythosaurus?
I have done Corythosaurus but haven't done Dacentrurus yet.
Great video man.
Idk which did better truthfully. Growing up I was never interested in marine reptiles as much as land ones. Lol

Id say In terms of species numbers and overall population long necked plesiosaurs did much better overall.
