Though this not be a hard science, it sure has helped me identify how people communicate and what they prioritize. Because of that, I can improve the way I understand and interact with others. Another religious cult with no objectivity and scientific basis. The more people fall for pseudo nonsense like this the more detached from reality they become whilst thinking they're becoming more "awake" to a cause.
Mbti isnt scientific but you can make deductions about peoples type via the scientific method. Mbti is a measurement of how one makes decisions, and which axes of perception and judgement lead them to those decisions. People tend to have a dominant preference for a specific axis of judgement and a specific axis of perception, and people tend to have a primary function that dominates their decision making.
Im 70 this month and did the test a few times out of the book Please Understand Me in my teens! I was INFJ. Borderline on the I N F but extreme J. So now I learn Im rare and it actually explains a lot for me over my life because making true connections with people just hasnt happened. My opportunty to find greatness are very limited in relationships and jobs. Im a loner since childhood. I tell people im an introvert with a motormouth….at least when I choose to communicate. I dont always feel like it. I need to be triggered by interesting stuff….deeper not superficial chatter. Ive gotten less extreme in the J part which has contributed to my sanity but it took a lot of decades! Being misunderstood is a nonevent. I think that happens to a lot of people. I figured out my narsisstic mom was basically riddled with insecurities in my teens and forgave her for her hard to be with stuff. She could see herself pretty well with therapy and wasnt that bad. Its too bad…she could have been more happy otherwise! And I could have been more understood by this deeply intellegent person.. she did nick name me Sympathy. Instaed of my name Cynthia. Oh….she came because she gave me the book and helped me understand it. The book could be more clear in my opinion. I guess I should have been a teacher. I would have made a great teacher in certain subjects. Art mainly. Yes I had hard to treat depression before I was even 20. Some really dark reality things. Very little denial….if any. Ha ha world could…humans could be better. There are some rotten apples in the animal kingdom too
The importance of personality whether is not an exact science it’s understanding others for who they are instead of judging them harshly. No one is perfect and everyone can learn.
I've never been to this channel until now (This video popped up on my feed because I'm a Frank James fan.) All I could think the entire time was how this Andrew dude totally exhibits the ISFP vibe: chill and confident in his physicality. Also notice how Frank is leaning in and nodding/affirming (Fe) and Andrew is more hanging back and introspecting (Fi). Both are personable feeler types, but they exhibited their feelings in a different manner. Great interview!
introspecting = Fi? it is called introverted function. He may be thinking, imagining, remembering or feeling. Learn at least some theory first. You cannot put a function inside peoples brain just because FJ said this guy is ISFP. jeez. this guy is clearly Ti user, because every question makes sense and disregards feelings, also he is not really interested, FJ does not give any good arguments, it looks weak. Fi-Ne vs Ti-Se.
This was a good interview. I think it helps that Andrew seems to actually be interested in this topic. I'm not convinced that personality tests are worth our time, but I thought Frank was a good interviewee.
When you talked about struggling with certain physical objects that's me 100 percent. Anything that I haven't tried to do before or know inside out becomes and overwhelming dread fest where I'm doing something for an hour that would taken someone 5 minutes and become more frustrated with every passing moment. Lol
My partner is an ENFJ and 48 yrs old but he still has to ask at least 50 ppl, including his parents what he should do before he can make a decision. Im an INTJ female and it drives me nuts!! Just do what you want!!
Took the MBTI a few months after joining a Fortune 500 company. First goal is for teams to recognize how to work better together based on work preferences. ENTJs are going to be the hard driving project leaders who might need to fire people. INTPs will make sure the technical work is done correctly. ENTPs will generate a lot of ideas and the ESTJs will follow up on the details and schedule. The F types will be in Human Resources. I could go on but it’s easy to see why corporations like it. I found out why I clashed with one certain type and try to stay out of their way!
As an ENTP, can confirm. I was an ops manager at a startup but spent way more time generating ideas on how to improve efficiency, generate revenue, etc. than actually managing my staff. I should really go into consulting..
you didn't "join a fortune 500 company", and your idiotic conviction that personality types would indicate any sort of behaviour is unscientific and non-sensical. how are you lot this empty-headed?
This was interesting, I still don't see why people obsess over it so much though to the point of putting it on their resume or bio. Even if there was deep purpose in the test, the way it works feels like it persuades people to answer as who you want to be, and not necessarily who you are and I assume it takes an outside person to interview and answer on your behalf to be accurate. I've taken it each once a year for 4 years now, and have never gotten the same result. I went from INFP to INFJ to INTP and apparently now I'm an ISTP which means I've received every letter except E. I can honestly read the description of any personality result as long as it starts with "I" and they all sound accurate, which makes it feel a lot like a generic horoscope just to make you feel good or give some false sense of confidence or understanding. While it all confuses me, one thing I know for sure is I would quit any job that makes me take this test lol. Also, I was very excited to see another chatting with pop up on the homescreen :)
The reason why you got different results was because of how you answered it. You see when you finish the test it shows the percentage for example 51% introverted and 49% extroverted. This would mean you got an 'I' for introversion. If you answer 1 or 2 questions differently the next time you do it, you might get 49% introverted and 51% extroverted which will make you an 'E'. The same goes for the 3 other letters. Also yes, some personality types has similar traits but if you dive deeper into it, there will be a lot of differences. Sometimes they don't match perfectly but one of my friend matches ISTP perfectly. Everything it says about her is true and there is no other types she is similar to. For example, stubborn, can seem cold, easily bored, struggle with long term commitment, hates when people help her, likes being alone and she likes being alone more than anyone I met except for one of my best friends who's even more introverted. I was able to learn a lot from it and she confirmed it so I know more about what to and what no to do. Also it's better to the sakinorva cognitive functions test than the 16 personality types test website. It's more accurate. So yeah, do that test and it will show you a column of what you are most likely to be. Research deeper into each type and you will see the differences. Don't just read the personality off the main website.
I think the people who obsess over it usually understand the theory beyond the tests and descriptions and they take into consideration all the factors that you mentioned, like most people in the MBTI community agree that the tests aren't accurate. And so they study the theory itself and then they type purely according to it, independant of the tests. My tests, for example, show that I am an ISTP. I, however, know that I am an ISFP.
@@zdenda66alorddandas86 Yep, my test show that I am ISFP when I am INFP in the cognitive functions test and I indeed am INFP Edit: I wouldn't say obsessed, just intrigued.
Hello, I'm Italian but I follow you, with simultaneous translation subtitled. And, of course, I understand English a little bit. However I agree with you, and in my opinion, who says that MbTI is a pseudoscientific idea, well it is usually "extroverted thought" . Anyway, of course, maybe the Mbti system. It is not always precise, it does not enjoy certainty, because it is based on people, and as we know, personalities are not cut perfectly, They evolve for the better and for the worse, continuously, it is unthinkable to have a clear shot. But at least Mbti is a system, which is better than the unconscious idea that anyone can ever make. It is based on data, not bias. It is active, not passive. It is an important tool.
Yeah idk about it but it’s like Freud era shit where you’re collecting data and observing tendencies but like they both said it depends and if you’re researching this yourself you could create self fulfilling prophecies. To me, the bottom line is that these are just tendencies. You can always become more aware and work to change it. If you want. It’s not like you have curly hair or were born with six toes.
@@scrums4748 Well I was able to learn a lot about my friend I didn't really know about and she confirmed it. It was 99.9% accurate. So when I understood her better, I know better on what to and what not to do and how if they do certain things, it's just their personality so I shouldn't misunderstand them

@Ben collins no I would say an XXXX type definitely
Hi 👋 Thank you for having Frank on your show 😊 Really love the setting, flow, questions and editing
Glad FJ introduced you to us
Keep up the good work 💐✨
- ENFP
Andrew your awesome! Please do these interview videos again! It will help you finance your life again and we will happily supplrt you on the way.
Your interviews opened up whole new perspectives in life for me in the past.
I love Frank James’ videos! It’s so cool to see y’all two collab.
I like listening to Frank talk calmly. Maybe it's because hes so cool and attractive.
Hahaha. Spoken like a Frisky Pony.
However a person opens the door to looking within,… is a gift. Frank has created the opening, for self evaluation/investigation…. That’s ALL good! Thanks Frank!
Very nice to see you back on this series again
I watch Frank James all the time. I’m an INFJ too and it helps me understand myself and not be so critical of myself😊
I love this collab!!! So unexpected but so good
I use MBTI because it's the closest I'm probably ever gonna get to understanding others
- INTP
ENTP here and agreed
Yeah I appreciate my ESTJ counterparts a lot more after understanding mbti a bit better
Didn't see this Collab coming, WOW!
Nice moves, Andrew! Keep it up!
this stuff is popular because everyone is endlessly fascinated by themselves. If only it was as simple as "I am X, thefore I A, B and C"
Another religious cult with no objectivity and scientific basis. The more people fall for pseudo nonsense like this the more detached from reality they become whilst thinking they're becoming more "awake" to a cause.
Chatting outside is superior to chatting inhouse or in studio.
LAHWF is back baby. Great Video Andrew.
Thanks Andrew! Love FJ! His skits always make this here INFJ laugh and I need all the laughs I can get these days! 👍
Frank James's videos helped me a Lot to understand my damaging patterns, over all with His old ones videos about INFJ. So thanks.
Learn the cognitive functions and ignore MBTI if you actually want to understand how personality types work.
the big 5 personality test is a much more reliable personality typer
@@loversandlosers Yeah, it's much better for people that are just looking for helpful ways to facilitate their innate proclivities.
Meh. Not a fan of Big5. But it looks great on you. {Sorry - Rodney Dangerfield moment} 🙃🖖
There are some rotten apples in the animal kingdom too
Spoken like a very-INFJ-overexplainer-thankyouicanrelatetothat. 🤗 Another indicator: wall-of-text. Peace and long life! 🖖
Interesting topic! I'm really glad Chatting With is back. 😊
Wait I thought this was a Frank James' video interviewing another expert until the intro 😭😭
It's an awesome video! Thank you!
17:04:
Andrew: Any last words ?
James: Not that I can think of. Thanks for having me.
Andrew: pulls the trigger.
Omg with FJ?!?! SO COOL... proud of you frank!!
happy to see another chatting with Andrew!
Yup, exactly. Gunna assume yer another INFJ. I left a similar comment in reply to Xara Stewart.
@@theothererik1128 If you're referring to me, I'm an ENFJ. :)
introspecting = Fi? it is called introverted function.
That assessment of Ed Sheeran was spot on!
the "any last words?" got me worrying for Frank
This was a good interview. I think it helps that Andrew seems to actually be interested in this topic. I'm not convinced that personality tests are worth our time, but I thought Frank was a good interviewee.
Frank James is awesome! Definitely subscribe. His videos are hilarious.
Loving the chatting withs and public interviews lately 💪💪💪
Agreed.
I have a friend who is an INTJ and she is married to . . . . . another INTJ !!!? How can that happen???!
Dang, I wish this was longer. Good interview.
Perfect sensor and intuitive interaction, u can cut the awkward tension with a knife
This is the ultimate awkward team up
Andrew you should read The Personality Brokers if you haven't; very interesting although not exactly flattering/favorable history of the MBTI
Great video Andrew. Proud of you!
I know somebody who's an OBGYN.
Thank you for the upload Andre Whales
I'm an INFJ and my favorite types are Pica and Elite.
NFs don't wanna be in a corporation . . .
@@zdenda66alorddandas86 Yep, my test show that I am ISFP when I am INFP in the cognitive functions test and I indeed am INFP
Edit: I wouldn't say obsessed, just intrigued.
We love you Andrew. You can do no wrong. Love love LOVE you!!!
such a chill interview! love fj
Your channel is back man
OPS is really doing a great job trying to make MBTI objective and somewhat scientific.
Man this was so chill and fun. Great interview
Frank james reminds me of the guy with the yellow hat. i love that guy
Who is that ?
From Curious George?!
Andrew keeping it real, good job. Greetings from Poland
Damn, I’m also a isfp and everytime Andrew smiling, I was also smiling
I'm isfp as well.

glad the chattings are back

keep it up Andrew, loved this video!
Love both of these guys, epic match up!
Nice. Knowing is not the excuse. It’s the opening.
People with two first names are always special for some reason
Yeah idk about it but it’s like Freud era shit where you’re collecting data and observing tendencies but like they both said it depends and if you’re researching this yourself you could create self fulfilling prophecies. To me, the bottom line is that these are just tendencies. You can always become more aware and work to change it. If you want. It’s not like you have curly hair or were born with six toes.
Frank is such an infp
Thanks. Maybe after years of struggling I will finally understand who am I and where do I fit. Now i am experiencing my worst mental state, so far.
This has helped tons of people, i recommend you to take the test and watch other people with your types experiences, makes you feel less alone!
it really doesn’t matter
@@scrums4748 Well I was able to learn a lot about my friend I didn't really know about and she confirmed it. It was 99.9% accurate. So when I understood her better, I know better on what to and what not to do and how if they do certain things, it's just their personality so I shouldn't misunderstand them
Diamonds are formed under pressure bro 🙏
@@parkourandfreerunning4214 I don't think simplifying people is a great way to understand them
I could have just put my iPad down and started doing something else more productive, but instead I wrote this comment about the interviewer introducing the guest as an “expert”. The expression on his face immediately thereafter is very interesting as it’s unclear to me if he’s comfortable or uncomfortable with that.
Infjs take a moment to warm up, they are kind of uncomfortable with flattery, also confidence issues
Interesting video Andy, U got my like! I reckon collabs like this are brilliant, keep it up like I know u will!
Woooah the duo I didn't know I needed
Get back up on that TH-cam streak! You have talent bro
I work offshore so I dont have time to watch the videos untill I get home from the sea, but I always hit like for the algorithm 😁
INFP squad!
Can confirm: i'm a TJ and I look hella neanderthal
Frank James obviously saw a comment on one of his videos about pseudoscience and is indirectly responding to that comment in this video. It's a type of manipulation that influences how you think about someone that INFJs use because I do it all the time
