Logan Thane Brown is making amazing trumpets!
$2500 Superhorn? Cmon… that just can’t be true.
Well guess what… I truly believe it is. This Thane Standard series trumpet with the large bell is an amazing instrument in every regard! Logan (who formerly worked at Monette for years) has recently stepped out on his own and is making some absolutely wonderful horns. This Standard series is no exception!)
THE STANDARD SERIES TRUMPET BUILT BY THANE
This is the new standard for high quality trumpet making. These trumpets, offered in the key of Bb or C, are built with the same details as the Thane Performance series models but using more standard parts and with less customizable options. This allows these trumpet to be at a great affordable price. These are a great goto option for any professional or amateur player looking for an easy to play great sounding trumpet.
    FEATURES
All Standard Series trumpets, Bb or C models, are built with a one piece all brass casing with stainless steel valves hand lapped for a tight and smooth perfect fit. The slides are built from scratch to allow for perfect alignment and correct length and hand lapped to move with ease. The Standard leadpipe and tuning slide are built with the ease of playing and intonation in mind. Nothing too tight or too open so it allows any player to use these trumpets with whatever mouthpiece they are comfortable with. Truly a trumpet for everyone that can do it all.
Large Bell - The Large bell is a bit bigger taper and creates a darker sound than the Classic bell. Easier to produce a rich warm fluffy tone but will still produce a huge wall of sound when you put on the gas. Still an excellent all around playing bell good for most performing situations. If you are looking for a bit darker more richer sound then this is the bell for you. Options for this bell are yellow brass, redbrass, and bronze.

I've had mine for 5 days now and the Thane trumpet is one hell of a horn, I'm impressed! Very easy to play, all the notes are in this horn.

Sounds like a nice affordable option for those people not slaved to brands B or Y.

I love all the trumpet videos, but I would really like to see a guide in how you record your videos. Just a request 😀

Sounds pretty bright to me even though it has the larger taper to the bell. Would you say that a Bach 37 has a much darker tone that this? It seems like these Thane trumpets might be more of a lead trumpet than something good for orchestral playing. What are your thoughts on Thane trumpets for orchestra?
EDIT: I'm still getting used to comparing trumpet timbre over video :P

I think that's more of my mic and my playing than the actual horn... I think this is a well rounded sound for sure.

@@austincustom @KoopaCamper I have owned my Thane standard model large taper red brass bell trumpet for 15 months now, and in that time not one person who has heard it or tried it has found it to have a bright sound. If anything, they think it is darker than Bach 37 and similar horns. However, Thane trumpets respond to timbre changes of different mouthpieces, as Trent showed when switching to a lead mouthpiece. That adds to the versatility, in that changing a cup or backbore allows you to adapt to varying playing situations.
