Tigor is smoother than altroz driving dynamics I am realse that
As per my experience Punch is addressing current hype of SUV (like) car. Just big ground clearance it has. Engine is SAME as that of Tiago and Tigor. But weight is more than these.
Punch has no punch in low RPMs, in city stop/start traffic it will suffer from slow,lethargic throttle response. I have driven it. On highway it maybe better, but again not good on high speeds as height is more so body roll will be there. Its just larger from inside. It has no hump on rear seat floor. So 3 ppl cn easily sit. This is where Tigor falls behind, due to huge hump on floor and overall width being less. But leg space is good in Tigor and rear seats are way more comfortable than Punch.
Tigor has good ground clearance. You can't really offroad with that. But again hardly who buys SUV (like car) these will ever put them on mud. It has class suspension and steering. Slightly more power/weight ratio than punch. Will give better mileage also. For me Tigor MUCH more practical than Punch.

Good video. I feel Tigor is preferred as I drive mostly in city and highway and small percentage of bumpy roads. Safety rating of Tigor is 4 star which is adequate although Punch is better. The large boot space is also a crucial advantage, rear defogger, corner stability are useful features to have.

Budget 9lakh. Family of 5. Usual city drive < 30 km per day. Monthly one long drive. 80% good road conditions. Manual and AMT suggest for both plz.

Second question : without gears ... is AMT better or CVT?
In the manual I would suggest you to with vitara breeza, that is way better than all you options and if out of your option magnite turbo would be best.
CVT is much better than amt, if you could get cvt never go for amt. In CVT my suggestion would be honda amaze.Also Amaze would be my first choice for your requirements

Go for Tigor. In your budget you will get top end fully loaded car. Punch you wont get top or even medium end. It also has very long waiting.
Space is slightly less in Tigor. You will have to manage. You will also get better mileage and better pickup in Tigor
Tigor would be the best option for your requirements
You can get CNG variant of Tigor with little more budget.
S-cross is also a good option but need little higher budget.
Wouldn't recommend Nissan, Renault due their low presence in market.
I found really helpful for making my final decision.
As more highway running I will prefer to tigor

For Sr Citizen.
Go for Altroz.
Leg Space better than Tigor or Punch.
90° Door Opening and driving is very stable.
So best for Sr. Ctzn.
Incline of seat in Altroz is also very good.
Altroz is a great product, but people just want ground clearance else altroz is better than punch in almost all categories
I tried both Altroz and punch. Altroz doesn't give comfort for sr. Citizens. It's hard to travel in Altroz as per my experience.

Tigor is more comfortable for longer trips but punch is better for older people for short distance

Your running is very low so you should not even consider mileage because at max you can save 100,200 rs monthly.
If you want to drive on hilly roads and have to go on bad roads punch is a better option, also you would get cruise control for long drives.

Basically punch designed for those who drive both in highways and village off roads..To create more torque tyrre width is more and ground clearance more and to get through soft sand and grassy village roads punch designed ..where as Tigor absolutely not for off road drives ..
Even at slopes Tigor used drive backwards when you leave the break..
But yes highways and milage and comfort suspension tigor good .

I have two suggestions, firstly you can select Ignis zeta variant, you would get space, comfort , reliability, Features, safety is also not bad with 3 star rating, second option is punch pure + rhythm pack, you would get comfort and safety but would miss features and engine punch.
Go with 4 star Tigor, pay 50K more and get basic variant. Don't compromise with safety

Normal use with family (5 no.), not daily.
20% offroading possible sometimes
If you have 5 members you should go with punch adventure or even adventure with extra pack, but don't go any variant above.also avoid after market work.

I am planning to buy a car with max budget 9lakhs onroad.. Family size=4. Requirement= Mostly City Usage and Weekends trips mostly using highways and ocassional village roads.

Sir could you please suggest a good car in this budget?
Please note I am not interested in any aftermarket fitment of accessories.
I have two options for you, if you want suv you can get either magnite xv turbo or kiger rxz turbo, both get features, power, space, safety so overall good package. If you need a hatchback and a more premium interior, you can get tata altroz xz petrol, where you would get safety, space, good quality interior, larger service center network though engine is slight under powered, so do take a test drive of all three in a day.

I would suggest you to go with Honda amaze, as it is equally safe, better engine and almost similar space. If you could get amaze VX it would be best as it would be around 9 lacs on road with discounts if any

TIGOR interior request a Facelift. 1. Door button lock unlock old style 2. Back seat middle passenger footrest is too high. 3 back seat Headrest is Fixed and not comfortable. 4. Interior are too dark (Amaze interior look better)

Only the base variant of i20 would come, so I am not considering it, being your first car avoid kiger and magnite, in glanza you would get mileage but safety is a question mark specially as you are using on highways. I would recommend altroz out of these 5 cars, as it is comfortable, safe,Mileage is also fine.

If you need space,safety and mileage you can consider vitara Brezza vxi, you would get safety, space and best mileage for a SUV also if you need automatic you can try Honda amaze it is also safe,spacious and gives good mileage.

I have two options for you first is altroz you would get nice space, good safety and mileage is also fine. If you have cng at your place, you can consider tigor xz there also you would get features and boot space with very low cost of running. It might cost you a bit above 8 lacs but you can easily recover that money with cng. And safety and space are there also

Tata tigor is better than punch because tigor bootspace is 420 litres and tigor provides 1to 2 kmpl more mileage.....
And for the viewers 170 mm ground clearance is very enough for indian roads and big potholes...

I like to pursue Tigor, it look good and decent, but in our rural area the road conditions (kassa rasta) are very poor, At least, tigor's ground clearance needs to be extended little bit more (ground clearance,
