Had one on Friday 529 Euro or 600 USD for 128 GB but unfortunately return it on Saturday due wife screaming 😱 Homeless phone design same as people sleeping on train station or under the bridge ...Why u throw 💶 this iPhone it's not a iPhone it's waste of money .... almost divorce ....man o man this phone have got me a real trouble don't try to surprise someone They just don't want iPhone 6 in year 2022
I think most people really miss the point of this phone. It's always dragged for being relatively basic and looking "outdated", but it's not made for tech geeks who want bleeding edge features and modern design. It's for the rest of us who want touch ID/home buttons and LCD, and for people who want a small but capable phone without breaking the bank. People don't buy an SE because they're a couple hundred short for an 11 or 12, they buy it because it's the phone they WANT. Personally I hate face ID and tall skinny screens, I much prefer the classic design and I really appreciate that Apple still makes a phone for people like me. That said, I do like bigger phones too so an SE plus in an 8 plus body would be 💋🤏💯

I switched from the 13 Pro Max to the se 3 and I’m not regretting it. The 13 pro max was to big and I was going to go with 13 mini but decided to save the extra money being that I really don’t use my phone that heavily and the se 3 has everything that I need.
Yes I agree with you Nick. I have an iPhone 8 Plus and don’t plan to update for a few more years as I don’t like the notch and I’m one of the 10% who can’t use OLED. An SE Plus is what I’d love, but I can imagine it would eat into other iPhone sales.
@@luckythakur1832 Just replace the battery I think you're already getting more than adequate screen on time which will only improve once you get them replaced, moreover the SE doesn't have many significant upgrades over the 8 plus they're mostly downgrades, and your name suggests you're from india so I'd say rn there isn't any 5g rollout happening anytime soon maybe in the metros but definitely not if you don't live there so stick to the 8 plus.
Oh that's unfortunate ,you can't use them even with the dc dimming on? The best lcd phone you can buy rn is the iPhone 11 if you're okay with not having 5g and I don't think apple is making the SE any better than the 8 plus anytime soon.
What I like about this phone is that 90% of the content on TH-cam will fit properly on this display. No zoom to fit cutting off content or anything like that. I find the perfect fit oddly satisfying 😂
For $430 you are paying for a superior CPU and a vastly inferior everything-else. The Pixel 5a's $450 model is 90ppi denser, 2GB more ram, 64GB more storage, 1MP better front (plus a 16MP ultrawide back that SE doesn't even have), a headphone jack, a 4680maH battery, and doesn't look dated.
The RAM doesn't matter if it's still slower and the battery size if the CPU is energy efficient (Iphone 13 has a 3227mah size battery and will outlast a pixel 6 and the pixel 6 has a 4614mah battery) but I get the 5a does have a really long battery life but that's also bc it has an old power sipping CPU. I do like the Pixel 5a's screen better (quality wise) but the iphone takes better photos (with the back camera) and takes way better videos. All personal preference at the end of the day, I only use 19gb of storage and like the body of old iphones and the bezels don't bug me. I am bummed the Pixel 6a wont have that fingerprint reader in the back better than an onscreen one.
To me that inexcusable at over $400. As is it not having an ultra-wide lense, a feature many $100-$150 phones now have. Add face ID, 90hz-120hz refresh rate, etc etc. I just don't get how Apple always gets a free pass for not including features and specs that have pretty much become standard everywhere. And charge a still premium price for it. 🤷🏿♂️
@@artdogg50 Because the whole budget of SE goes into the SoC. It's the most powerful phone in its price range but its compromised with outdated design.
@@nickackermanchannel i just saw an official teardown of this phone, and the official battery size is 2018 mA hours, Also the phone has the QUALCOMM X 57 modem which isn’t listed anywhere.. That is strange. But the battery is pretty big for a smart phone this size, it’s even bigger than the iPhone 6.
For the targeted customer, they don’t “feel” like they are getting bad hardware because they most likely never owned an iPhone 13 Pro Max. A lot of people don’t care about stuff like that or even notice it! Only people who have experience using both a “high end” “modern” iPhone and this “budget” “outdated” iPhone are the ones complaining about the SE. I think it’s a great thing to have on Apple’s lineup.
Meh it’s alright. Compared to the 2nd generation of course it’s noticeably better but I wouldn’t say it’s worth it over an XS or an XS max. You can buy either of these phones for a significant improvement in other areas besides the chip for the same price or even less

And the battery will of course be degraded but since your spending 400 anyway might as well pay an extra 70$ for a brand new battery. It’s like paying 70$ extra for all the improvements that you are getting over the SE 3 which is definitely worth it
@@lucky806 that wouldn’t make sense considering OLED provides better picture quality. We’re talking about more pixels, better colors, a higher peak brightness, a more. If that’s the case i would assume it would cause less strain on you then an LCD.
I don’t know why people say it looks like an iPhone 6. I get that the front looks pretty much like an iPhone 6, but the back looks nothing like an iPhone 6 IMO. Looks like an iPhone 8..
Well I appreciate you being willing to give the pros and cons of this phone. Something many content creators appear unable or simply unwilling to do. I'm not a fan of the notch they still have on the modern Iphones now, so I'm definitely not a fan of this very old style. Personally I think Apple should just bite the bullet and go back to the IPhone XR design, which outsold the 2020 SE almost 2 to 1, or simply discount the Mini line by removing a few features like Oled display and maybe the ultra-wide camera. I'd save the Mini line and wouldn't shortchange customers quite as much. Doubt it'd change the bottom line that much, plus the phones would be easier to probably update since the tech won't be as antiquated.
I never used an iPhone, but if I was buying an iPhone, I'd definitely choose the 11 over the new SE. If I needed 5G, which I don't, I'd just get the IPhone 12, which I just saw for the exact same price as the SE. Just curious what is the appeal to the SE over the 11? Maybe I'm missing something or is it just a personal preference?
Apple has officially peaked with using this design, they can’t do it again in the future. Technology advances very fast, so Apple won’t be able to put their future chip inside of here.
I think 11 is a better deal , when anyone buys a new phone they keep it for 3-4 years and after 3-4 years this iphone will be so outdated looking , everyone would have a modern , sleek bezels and 4 camera phones and you will have this thick bezelled and single camera phone 🤳
The only problem with the 11 is probably the lack of 5G feature. Also, the hardware on the new iPhone SE is a couple of years newer than the hardware on the iPhone 11. I 100% agree with you about the looks of it after three years, though. the iPhone 11 is probably going to be the "new classic" iPhone soon.
In my small town Walmart they are selling the 12 for $299 and the 12 mini for $299 for straight talk. Anybody else Been seeing deals like this? I got a 12 mini myself.
@@renatoosg 5g isn't really avaliable in most places and the speeds are really inconsistent right now, secondly the iPhone se does have a more mordern processor but it can't really take advantage of it with that small screen and smaller battery, even the camera on 11 is better than se
I think only the older fans of the style or those very new to Iphones, older parents or very young kids would want to use it. To me it needs to be put to pasture. I'd tell anyone who doesn't fit the demographic I just mentioned to get an IPhone 11, which you can get much cheaper used and unlocked in the aftermarket or new and unfortunately locked with a port-in deal on US carriers, provided you choose one of their cellular plans. I've ever seen the IPhone 12 around the same price as the new SE. Much better overall tech in the 11 and 12. The 11 doesn't have 5G though. The 12 I believe does.
Special Edition just means it’s a Classic with new internals, the word “Special” doesn’t make it better than the $1,000 iPhones that release every September
I’m just annoyed that apple hasn’t added the U1 chip and MagSafe compatibility to the SE yet, rn I’m on a budget and I would consider the SE but I’m disappointed it doesn’t have at least MagSafe because as someone who has a history with breaking the charging ports MagSafe would really benefit me Hopefully the next SE 4 will add those, or at least MagSafe
If the 8 plus still works well for you, keep it. When you go to the SE 3, you may be getting a new processor, but you would get a smaller phone with a screen that has a lower resolution.

I have the 12 Pro Max and I’m thinking about buying this as my backup to my backup iPhone 11. Just in case I break my iPhone 12 Pro Max then break my iPhone 11 at least I’ll have the iPhone SE3
I think the se+ would cannibalize crazy on the pro max models as apple only gives one choice for big phone and gives customers no option but to shell premium prices for a bigger device. Profit oriented not customer oriented.
These new SEs should have looked similar to the iPhone 5S and original SE but larger. I don't like this iPhone 8 design and I wonder why they gave the 5S/OG SE design exclusively to the iPhone 12 and 13 lineup.
You have to imagine Apple release a 7 Year old Phone in 2022 with a new Chip und Camera and some People still buy it and love the fat bezel and lcd. I dont understand that and for me personal its a nogo from Apple. Better buy a iPhone 12 oder 13 Mini. For me is absolutly no reason to buy this 7 Year old Phone.
The target audience that people keep talking about are just the people who wanna give their money to Apple and think Android is some 3rd world gutter.. This phone in the vast landscape of phones is a terrible value for money. I think it's okay to show the target audience of this phone that what is available in the open smartphone market so that they get to experience something way more all rounded. The S20 FE 5G nails this.
“easy on the eyes” is why I still like lcd. I have oled and it looks amazing, but the contrast ratio seems too much sometimes and creates a bit of a flare effect on my eyes. My eyes arent the best, but lcd feels easier to watch.
How long does your battery lasts? My SE2016 is giving up lol I need a new phone, but I’m unsure of the SE2022 battery, and the se21 is quite cheaper than the SE in my country
@@YV0910 I consistently get a full day. I average between 4 and 5 hours a day of screen time (mostly browsing socials, news, email and some YT, no gaming). Today specifically, I took it off the charger this morning around 8:30 and right now it's 23:45 and I'm at 34% of battery left; It logged 3h58 of screen time but I didn't go on YT at all though. For my personal use cases, battery life is more than fine.
still on the first SE. am i the most "don't care" person? :) it's perfect in size for the phone, since I use it primarily as a phone - calls and quick replies in messengers.
I think reviewers just are bored with this phone because it’s nothing new they can talk about but those of us who absolutely love the home button are more than happy with it. There’s plenty of other phones to review
11 easy for me. I may try the iPhone 11 or 12 later this year. Well I suspect the IPhone 11 is going to be discontinued once the IPhone 14 drops. But if the price of the IPhone 12 comes down, even better.

This phone SE is selling a lot. Apple knows what they are doing. There are a lot of people who loves the 8 , so they will buy it. Nice move Apple.
Very encouraging. Hearing very positive feedback on the battery life. That was the one big question for me which could have been a deal breaker.
If they would gave iphone x design trust me it will sell like hot cakes !

That why I still with the iPhone 8 Plus. Just only for Touch ID. It stills just to satisfying, especially you can use it with a mask on.

I think the se+ would cannibalize crazy on the pro max models as apple only gives one choice for big phone and gives customers no option but to shell premium prices for a bigger device. Profit oriented not customer oriented.

You have to imagine Apple release a 7 Year old Phone in 2022 with a new Chip und Camera and some People still buy it and love the fat bezel and lcd. I dont understand that and for me personal its a nogo from Apple. Better buy a iPhone 12 oder 13 Mini. For me is absolutly no reason to buy this 7 Year old Phone.

This phone in the vast landscape of phones is a terrible value for money. I think it's okay to show the target audience of this phone that what is available in the open smartphone market so that they get to experience something way more all rounded.

“easy on the eyes” is why I still like lcd. I have oled and it looks amazing, but the contrast ratio seems too much sometimes and creates a bit of a flare effect on my eyes. My eyes arent the best, but lcd feels easier to watch.

How long does your battery lasts? My SE2016 is giving up lol I need a new phone, but I’m unsure of the SE2022 battery, and the se21 is quite cheaper than the SE in my country
@@YV0910 I consistently get a full day. I average between 4 and 5 hours a day of screen time (mostly browsing socials, news, email and some YT, no gaming). Today specifically, I took it off the charger this morning around 8:30 and right now it's 23:45 and I'm at 34% of battery left; It logged 3h58 of screen time but I didn't go on YT at all though. For my personal use cases, battery life is more than fine.

I think reviewers just are bored with this phone because it’s nothing new they can talk about but those of us who absolutely love the home button are more than happy with it. There’s plenty of other phones to review

11 easy for me. I may try the iPhone 11 or 12 later this year. Well I suspect the IPhone 11 is going to be discontinued once the IPhone 14 drops. But if the price of the IPhone 12 comes down, even better.
