I am 60 years old and an older in my life parent. My daughter loved twenty one pilots in middle school and got me addicted to their music. We were privileged to be able to see them in 2018 and again in 2021. IF I can ever afford to attend one of their concerts again I would do so in a heartbeat. Best concerts ever!!
Same! I am 45 and my son introduced me to them while he was in elementary school at age 6. We both became huge fans and we also went to two of their concerts in 2018. Just amazing pair of musicians that you can't get bored of. The energy makes you feel young. Also, the style has so many different genres that I feel anyone, regardless of their age, can really enjoy TOP. These guys are extremely respectful, playful, and are confident enough to make fun of themselves. They truly are "soulmates." Absolute gems.
Please please please keep with them! Maybe start with an album and go forward from there. Or backwards. Their self titled album shows pretty much where Tyler started. There are older songs for sure but the self titled album is a gem. There are not any music videos other than lyric videos and very few, if any, live performances of the songs, but they are great. Then the Vessel album comes with a few songs that he had previously recorded in raw form. He was still in high school when he wrote a lot of these songs. Blurryface just continues showing the progression of talents and abilities of their musicality and their sound. It also materializes the dark thoughts and fears/anxieties into human-ish form. Trench continues the narrative. Scaled and Icy is different because it was written during Covid and kind of spins off the narrative but still is related. I wouldn't wait for specific requests because we really want you to listen to everything. It's hard to pick one song over another. Considering the format you record in, just going through an album wouldn't be difficult. Maybe. I don't know. But keep going! 😁
The original video has real fans as the extras - those are people who won a raffle to be in the video after a hometown show in Columbus If you ever watch any interviews you'll get a sense of just how down to earth and just really good dudes they both are
I’m glad you did the back-to-back reaction! Tyler is so creative and loves to reimagine his songs. I love the vlog approach to the Berlin Session version. And it’s funny that he’s so nonchalant about headlining Lollapalooza Berlin and wants to go right back to the studio. Their live concerts are fantastic!! The bring so much energy and have such a connection to their fans. I subscribed and hope that you continue the TØP journey! I think it would be a good idea to focus on Trench, so you can add it to your phones 😜 It’s a great album! I’m not sure which you’ve done already, but I would recommend this order: - Heavydirtysoul (from Blurryface, but the video was the bridge to the Trench Era) - Trench Trilogy (Jumpsuit / Nico and the Niners / Levitate) - Chlorine - My Blood - Neon Gravestones (Live from BBC Radio 1) - Pet Cheetah VR Experience (it shows live concert footage and you can move your mouse around to see different views)
They are two guys who have not let fame go to their head. " they don't believe the hype" They are the coolest! You should react to some of their interviews. They are funny, sarcastic and goofy. Please keep diving into their music!!
Seeing your enjoyment of this song (some folks only like their older stuff), perhaps you want to proceed through the "lore" tracks of the past few albums? There's a whole 'Dema' storyline which people have made videos about, but Tyler essentially created this world as the basis for the Trench album (2018), Scaled and Icy album (2021), and the yet to be released (this year?) trilogy album to complete the Dema storyline. Thus far the videos go Heavydirtysoul -> Jumpsuit -> Nico and the Niners -> Levitate -> My Blood -> Chlorine -> (The Hype?) -> Shy Away -> Choker -> Saturday -> The Outside. These can be enjoyed simply as individual songs or within the larger storyline. Good songs between Trench and SAI not having official videos have also been mentioned here, Pet Cheetah and Mulberry Street. I'd also recommend Neon Gravestones for a quiet/deep song doubling between the Dema storyline and real life talk, and No Chances and Redecorate after reviewing most everything else as that will take you to the present day until the next album release.
Good reaction, they love to switch up their own stuff a good bit. And there's literally so much video of their personalities out there to see. If you watch/react to interviews, there's a ton of great ones. The Zane Lowe one with Tyler about Trench is great. And they always do fun, quirky stuff. They have a wonderful presence and sense of humor. Tyler has a love/hate thing with interview questions, and you can tell when he's annoyed if someone is interviewing them but has no idea anything about them. On the opposite hand, they both go above and beyond on and off stage for their fans and do a lot of fan pressers. They're like literally the most down to Earth human beings ever, which def makes us all love them so much more! |-/
Yay! Tyler is definitely a t-shirt and hoodie guy. Besides being ridiculously gorgeous, Tyler's wife, Jenna, is probably the kindest person you could ever meet and they have 2 daughters (Rosie & Junie). Josh is married to his wife, Debby, and the golden retriever you saw in the Choker music video belongs to them (his name is Jim). Thanks for continuing to share your journey. I love seeing people being positively affected by these guys because their music means the world to me. My wife (who I met at a top show, mind you) loves to joke that "Tyler & Josh are why we can't have nice things..." so I'll keep sending the requests🤣
Let’s solve your problem… just drop a reaction to the entire Trench album! 😂 Actually… you should do the Trench trilogy first - Jumpsuit, Nico and the Niners, and Levitate. Maybe start with HeavyDirtySoul which is a prequel to the trilogy from their BlurryFace album. This song was off Trench though.
Fantastic reaction! Subscribed for more TOP reactions.. Tyler and Josh are wonderful people who continue to stay grounded. They make music for the many people who need to their message! These two still live in Columbus Ohio and continue to be real human beings. Among the biggest of superstars in music… but they never let it get to them. Just regular guys! Can’t wait to see what you react to next! Also can’t wait till the day you get to do this MTV Unplugged! It’s out of this world!
I like how the original vid has a lot of call backs to multiple vids of theirs. And they strip off all the extra trappings and layers of clothing at the end….and get back to the basics.
listen to the original version and think abt oasis…”i said maybe you’re gonna be the one that saves me and after all you’re my wonderwall” now every time you hear it you’ll hear that lol
That's exactly why I don't really like the original version - too Britpop for someone who lived through Britpop the first time. Every other version I've ever heard them do, I adore.
That second Oasis album with Wonderwall I adored...then I think it was the following album that clocked in at 70(!) minutes long with the most repetitive choruses ever. THEN I was out.
Good thing they have video to get creative. The song is generic, and the message is (politely) a cliché in 2023. In my goddam opinion, of course. Cheers.

Oh...and Tyler Joseph strips down the hits (storyteller performance) or something like that...GREAT 30 minute-ish performance

I enjoy the reactions.

You need to react to Lane Boy and Ode to Sleep

I love the hype burlin sessions version. A little tribute to go towards the next twenty one pilots reaction ❤️
I enjoy the Berlin sessions more. That version is my wake up alarm. The original is always a favorite when I am awake.
I do love when you guys react to them
Love to see it! Would love to see a reaction to Pet Cheetah
He probably has to be a 'hoodie guy' because he would get recognized everywhere he goes lol
Gr8 vid luv this duo luv the song Chlorine by them an many more
No guitar yet. Tyler doesn’t learn how to play guitar until Covid started. So no guitar until Level of Concern and Scaled and Icy album.

@@littlestlass5844 i can appreciate the original but i’m like you that i find the reimagined versions to be far superior.
@@Deltron3031 agreed. the second album was a bit pompous tbh.
Do more tøp!
Amazing
You should listen to Mullbery Street.
cool
Best
