I have visited this resort a few times and you hit spots I didn’t even know existed here! We are going back in May 2023 and I can’t wait to visit some of these spots!
Thanks Kevin. My goal was for anyone who watched it to have a good understanding of where everything is. No need to waste time in paradise trying to figure out how to get to another part of the resort! Congrats on the upcoming wedding!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it. When we were planning to go the first time, I was wanting to find a similar video to this, and never could. So, I decided I'd make one myself. Might re-do the video on our next trip with some better equipment, but for now, I still enjoy re-watching it myself until we can go back!!! Enjoy your trip!!!
Thank you for the walk through video. I was hesitant in booking because most of the reviews were for Negril or Turcs and Cacus. Seeing your video made my decision easier to book. Thank you!
Thanks! I hope you have a great time. I've yet to be to either of the other 2, but hope to go again some day. Beaches Ocho Rios is a great little resort in its own and I can't wait to get back there again myself.
In your personal opinion do you think the Greek walkout beach front rooms are worth it? Is there equipment like boats lounge chairs etc right there out your back door ? If that makes sense? We changed are wedding from sandles to beaches so are daughter could go. Was the resort relaxing, laid back?
I've never had a walkout room here, but that said, yes some will have the boats in front blocking the view. I'm perfectly happy with the rooms on the second and third floor. They offer great views of the ocean. As for the resort being relaxing, guess it was. There was always areas to go and have a good time, and plenty of space to just lay back with a drink in hand and relax.
Hi. We are due to visit this resort at the end of the month. Would like your perspective on the ride to/from airport, if you don’t mind sharing, as I have heard it’s a little rough. Thanks Also, did you have kids that participated in the Kids Club? If so, what were their thoughts?
Great questions. For anyone (UK excluded) who hasn't been to Jamaica before, the drive can be a bit overwhelming, as they drive on the left side of the road, and they drive AGGRESSIVELY. That being said, once you get used to that, it is generally a smooth ride. The roads are well paved and the driver is informative and interactive. If you have any young ones coming with you, I recommend bringing your own car seat so you know it will be set to fit them perfectly. My son took a nap on the ride to the resort. Sometimes they will stop at a gift shop/rest room/snack shack, but it really just depends on the time of day, how many people are on the shuttle, and what the overall consensus is. Going there, it was only my party, and the driver took us straight to the resort. Coming back, there were about 12 people on the bus, and we stopped at a gift shop/rest center about 40 minutes out from Montego Bay. As for the Kids Club, we dropped him off a few days and he had a blast. Had trouble getting him to leave a few times to be honest. They are well maintained and friendly, and keep the kids entertained. It gave my wife and I chance to go do a few things by ourselves: massage...snorkeling...banana boat. They'll let you know everything they need from you when you drop them off!
Beaches address name is misleading as it should be Beaches Oracabbessa because its in St. Mary. I discovered this error in visit June 2004, when ithe taxi driver told me that area is miles from Ocho Rios and extra charge. Started bad and ended bad. Hope staff is different now especially servers at breakfast buffet
I get what you are saying. Not sure why they named it that, but they did. I had a similar example with a club in my town growing up. It wasn't named after the town it was in, but another town 5 miles away. As for the staff, I had nothing but good things to say about them when we were there. The servers at the buffet, and every other restaurant we went to, were friendly and attentive on our trip.
Normally, yes. I'm not sure if there are any covid restrictions in place though. If there are no restrictions, You'll have to pay for a taxi though. Sandals can help arrange that for you. We hope to do the same on our next trip in July, and visit Ochi for a bit.
There is. You can see the main lift/elevators in the main building where the check-in lounge is at 19:15. There is another elevator in the Greek village that can be seen at 38:00 in the video. Given the ramps and elevators available, you can, if needed, pretty much make it from any part of the resort to the beach without a single stair. I know you can make it all the way from the front where you are dropped off at, to the beach, with no stairs involved, though 2 elevator rides will be needed.
Yes, I'll admit that is one of the things that did bother me as well when I uploaded it. One of the drawbacks of being a large man walking around in a warm atmosphere. Working on cutting that down though! I'm currently editing a video from Sandals Montego Bay that I am doing the audio for to add in during post-production .
That's a great question, and I'll do my best to answer it. It should be noted though that this video was recorded in early November of 2019, before Covid-19 had become the pandemic it currently is and any regulations on mask-wearing were put into place!!! From my understanding, with the current standards in place at Sandals and Beaches resorts in Jamaica, while on resort, guests are requested to wear masks whenever indoors. Staff members are required to wear them at all times. I hope this helps!

Why so many negative comments? This resort looks beautiful.
This is the most thorough walk around ever! Thank you so much. I will be getting married there in just over a month

Which lounge are you referring to? Thanks!

@@cece826 it was, but we didn't go in. Not sure if it currently is due to covid
Is there lift in hotel

😅 "look at that ocean view, it's just ...expensive 🤣🤣"
Very good and informative video, but try to edit out the heavy breathing in future videos.
