It was pretty bad as a kid and it lessened as I got older because I knew what it was and after being taken to doctors I knew there was no physical reason for my not breathing so I stopped panicking. When it happens now I have an internal conversation of you know what this is, you will start breathing, your limbs will respond and I just jolt out of it. It’s like everything is running on a dead battery that then gets plugged into an ac outlet. They wanted me to wear those breathing machines that people with sleep disorders wear as a kid but I would wake up at night, take all that shit off and not remember taking it off in the morning so after awhile I stopped bothering to wear it.
