Dimtra, you are the best cook on the planet, and Greek cuisine is the creme de la creme, followed closely by Italian. I would like to add here that I never, never, never use chicken breasts. Might as well try to eat a piece of rubber. OPA!
I've been binge watching your videos and the recipes are amazing. Okra is also called Bamia in Arabic. I'm seeing more and more similarities between Greek and Arabic. Very Cool!
Hi Dimitra! Checking up if you're all well. I made this recipe today and commented on your post with the pic. I love this dish too as well Doksa to theo se olous sto Texas!
Yasas, this might be old school (don't know for sure) but I let the okra sit overnight in white vinegar so that they don't come out snotty. I have to try this version. I've never made it with chicken. It looks delish. Thank you for sharing.
Hi, Looks great. Why did you put the oregano in the dish at the end after cooking rather than at the start before roasting? PS looks tempting to put some potatoes in as well. After 90 mins they should be cooked.
Hello Dimitra, I'm a new subscriber who discovered your channel yesterday. I heard you recommending Dodoni Cheese and so I bought it today to make your Greek Pasta Salad recipe. I had a HARD time opening the cheese container! Perhaps, you can have a tutorial showing how to open the container to get to the cheese? Just an idea. Loved the pasta salad. Having it for lunch tomorrow.
Great tutorial once again Dimitra. Here's the thing - Naturally I prefer fresh bamies (okra) but my aunt gave me a tin of okra because she wasn't going to use it, and it's been months now not sure whether to risk using them for this recipe. Any tips? (Apart from throwing them out - afterall, I'm with you, "fresh is best") but is there any hope for these tinned Okra's? Can I use them?
Seeing your lovely kitchen for the last time makes me sad. 4 ft of flood waters will not be kind to the wood and electrics, not to mention all your home goods.
I just got back and was shocked to see. Everything was out in the trash. Countertops, all the bottom cabinets, stove, oven, dish washer, garbage disposal, walls....Uggh! It all just got REAL! I'll see if I can get myself to film the huge mess and do a VLOG. Right now I'm on the phone all day with insurance, credit cards, utilities, and more. It truly is overwhelming. I just keep thanking God that we are safe and healthy. Thanks so much for your concern! All the best.
Thank you for making all the great Greek dishes.
Efharisto Para pouli for the wonderful dishes!

Hey Dimitra, this is such a hearty and easy to make dish.
I was just wondering if you had also a recipe for veggie bamias-tomatoe puree soup.

Lots of people do that. I don't have the patience and buying very fresh okra helps them taste wonderful. Let me know what you think :)
I got my Okra from the farmers market so I will be making this Wednesday.
Thanks is very good and very good for dibitec

How big was the container of cheese?
Dimitra's Dishes It was 3" × 4.5" approximately. Don't know how many ounces it contained since I'm at work right now.

I'm going to try this dish for someone's birthday. . . It's a simple one-pot dish. Does the okra turn out slimy?
