You are such a clear communicator and I have a much better understanding of the golf swing thanks to your videos…however I do get nervous for your walls 😊
You really break the golf swing down in such a great way. I have cleaned up my contact so much better with your teachings. Thank you so much, and keep them coming!
Carolin you are the perfect communicator for a golf instructor. It’s because you really know the golf swing as a true golf professional who has actually been out there on the tour. Your explanation of the pivot movement down into impact retaining that slight bend in the trail arm, & set trail wrist to the moment when your body exits left to release the club into the back of the ball. A thing of beauty.
Cool! Not that I will be able to do it like the pros (no way), but will help my understanding so that I don't go the wrong direction with my swing. Thank You!
Always puzzled me when watching those videos where the Pro advocates the squat move. Now I know how to keep from chunking when squatting. Will try this. Thanks mucho.
Great explanation of this concept. Your ability to describe these concepts is top in the golf teaching profession. For real. At the top. Positions, in general, are really boring for me to watch and focus on, but I can see right away that I can grasp and apply this concept.
My only problem with this is I am a senior golfer (69) still in good shape but when I try this I just seem to rush from the top and cast the club. Watch most of your videos, great teaching.
This is exactly right. What most people don’t understand and most coaches don’t say is that this is a new skill and a fairly difficult one, but it can be learned nonetheless.
Carolin I love your stuff. PLEASE, PLEASE give some advice as to how we geriatric golfers who CANNOT turn to the balanced finish can continue to play. I'm experimenting with keeping my weight on the left side from start to finish, Shows some promise. I'm 78.
He Ian! Yes id be happy to make some content around that! And yes, there is something to be said for having and keeping more weight on the front foot, it certainly is better than the opposite (back foot). But really its about balance and maybe narrowing your stance a bit, starting set up at 50/50 weight distribution, and then going 60/40 to the back foot and then as far as you can to the finish, will make it a bit more balanced and allow you to maximize your turn.
Excellent explanation of a concept that is so misunderstood by so many amateurs as you mentioned. Coach Caroline from start to finish, I like how you went deeper than many other teachers do in your explanation. Do you advocate your hands being pressed a little bit forward at address, before you start your swing? Great job! AAA+
It is the same move as throwing a horseshoe, only with rotation involved. It is natural and instinctive but people have a difficult time relating. Great video well explained. Thanks
Carolin please could you repeat this golf instruction but next time place the emphasis on the downswing hand path with a laser attached to the handle / butt end of the club? Your hands seem to be moving slightly out towards the ball as they move down. This idea of retaining the trail arm angle got lost in translation by an old David Leadbetter video so amateurs were told not to retain that angle but retain the trail wrist. Sounds like you need a bit of both in this modern downswing pattern.

Is that little tiny iron just a normal iron, but cut down? Or did you buy it somewhere?
Its the leadbetter short club and you can buy it here! leadbetterswingaids.com/products/short-club?aff=2
Really good stuff. My head gets lower through impact, but from time to time I hit heavy. Thanks for the tip.
