Just bought one of these radios from a silent key. It had no manual, so I'm really glad I found your videos! You are a lifesaver! Seems to be a fantastic radio. 73, Jim - K6KCP

I am a new radio operator and my first radio is a kenwood ts2000x, your videos are very helpful to lose the fear to many buttons and functions ...
    Thanks from Argentina, LU4BRW, 73

@K4REF, what microphone did you use to record this video? The sound is excellent.

hi can you tell me if the kenwood mc-90 will work better then the mc-60 with the kenwood ts- 2000

review I found... "Comparable to the Heil PR-781
After trying several microphones and obtaining a number of over the air TX audio reports as well as comparing response curves on a scope, the MC-90 is practically indistinguishable from a PR-781. In actual OTA reports I've been told that the MC90 sounds slightly better and has a slightly warmer tone to it. If you're looking for a great microphone, you've found it. Much better (IMO) than the MC-60. Especially useful is the bottom slide-switch to cut off the low end response when you're chasing DX. " Hope that helps.

Very helpful series of videos. Looking to get one of these radio's myself and it's much easier to watch a video than read the manual ?
    Thanks 73's M0SYY

Can you please turn on the "safety " on your pen? Please retract the ball point, you're making me nervous. 😂

Customchannel... I linked one more video in this play list to show you how to make available frequencies outside the normal ham bands. I have done this mod to several radios with no issues. Be aware you MUST SAVE YOUR MEMORIES and MENU CONFIG prior to doing this. The mod will require you to factory rest the radio... and thus loose all your programming. After the rest... just reload it back onto your radio. Kenwood has a free software MCP-2000 for this purpose. www.kenwood.com/i/products/info/amateur/mcp_download.htm Or you can go to a company like RTS Systems for that too. (Be aware that last time I checked... CHIRP can not be use for this at this time.)
