Thank God that woman helped her out and got mad for her. She cares. I cannot believe people these days, scamming a woman with cancer. That’s one of the lowest of lows. That new wig looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL. it looks so real!
Being a Black Woman, the hairstylist was 100% correct. I was appalled at the amount you paid for the synthetic hair. So sorry you went through that. Your new wig looks beautiful on you.. Here's to you having more variety. (Note: You can order lighter colored wigs you just have to make sure you click on all the colors. Dying wigs is definitely a great option.)❤
You look so well darling Romee💙 I really pray everything gets better for you. You’re such an inspiration. I sure would tell the hospital that their wig referral was charging way too much for their wigs.this is so unfair to cancer patients. These videos are so helpful for women having to get wigs. The wig looks good on you👏💕
Black people KNOW wigs! There's a whole untapped resource there that EVERYONE should use. Glad this eventually worked out for you. Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

The new wig is absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad you figured this all out and I hope this message gets spread to those who need them! Also, your own hair at its current length is adorable!!! hopefully your scalp clears up quickly for you
When I was an inpatient in mental health unit in London a lot of the staff were black and it was the first time I saw the huge variety of black hair styles and specifically wigs. Some of them would have completely different styles every week. The wigs were so realistic as well. Wig wearing as 'normal' was just something growing up in the North of Scotland I had never been exposed to. Your video just massively reminded me of that. Thank you for sharing your story and sending you all the good vibes. Plus your new wig is gorgeous and so realistic!
My nan started the Wig Library in south Australia. Run out of whyalla hospital. Its a Library for wigs. You loan a wig for however long u want. It can be a few week or few yrs. She would then hold seminars for cancer paitents and show them how to pick a style. How to put your wig on and how to care for it. She was an amazing lady Sadly we lost her November 2021 to cancer. She fought for so long. Had 10 yrs of remisson, before it came back elsewhere. She would of loved to of seen this video, hear your story and would of wanted to help you like she helped so many others.
It's horrible that you got scammed and I hope that you got your money back or someone helped you to get a better outcome. Because out of everything that you have been through you are still a force for good in so many people's lives. Best of luck for the future.
Romee, You look beautiful with your natural hair. Your wigs are great for when you want to change it up, but personally you are beautiful inside and out.
Couldn't agree more. People who are cancer patients or who have medical conditions that negatively affect the hair/cause hair loss shouldn't have to pay high prices for wigs. They have enough to worry about.

When I did chemo and lost my hair, I just rocked the bald look. I lost my hair in December 2015, but wigs/beanies just made me too hot! Here in the US, you can go to the American Cancer Society, your oncologist's office or go to the Patient Advocate at your local hospital. They can all tell you where to go to get a good quality wig.
You are incredible! When I went through breast cancer and had to go through all the treatment I lost all the hair on my body.. I cannot tell you how cold it is with no hair especially because I live in Canada and it was November.. I did not get a wig because we could not afford one.. now Im living with lupus and have some hair loss because of the chemo meds I take weekly.. I just wear hats and scarfs..
Oh my gosh, the wig is absolutely amazing on you.....and the color is beautiful! I would never look at you and think you were wearing a wig. Keep the faith.
In some Cancer Care buildings they will have a volunteer wig place, give you a wig for free. Some insurances cover the cost of a wig. If you buy a cheap wig, you can take it to a hair dresser and they will style it for you. Many African hair dressers and stores will style and have wigs, for cheap. Check your own local areas or yellow pages. Also these stores will have shampoos and brushes. Never be afraid to ask and also, they can dye human hair wigs, curl it, thin it out, straighten it.
I am so very sorry you were taken advantage of with this situation. It’s a pure shame, but GIRL that new one was A M A Z I N G ! Once it was colored, I couldn’t even believe it was a wig. It was so natural that it was just your look! Congratulations on finding the right people and the perfect hair!!
Love the new wig! The color and style are very pretty on you. Your natural hair looks great -- it's a wonderful Pixie style! There are many ways to treat the flaking of your scalp. I'd suggest using an anti-dandruff shampoo and also do white vinegar rinses. Also, gentle massage of your scalp can help to loosen flakes and improve scalp circulation. Try to allow your scalp to breathe as much as possible by way of being wig or scarf free.
I echo the same sentiment from you, the Black woman hairdresser you spoke to & everyone here in the comment section concerning price of those expensive wigs overall, but especially for cancer (& alopecia) patients. I'm a Black woman in the States who has been watching you for awhile, and I've worn wigs for 15 years just because it's easier for me, and I've never paid the US dollar equivalent of what you paid for that one wig. So glad you were pointed in the right direction! There's lots of videos here on TH-cam as well if you ever decide to venture into doing it yourself one day (which I'm considering with COVID being so bad here in the U.S.). Also sorry about that girl who used you to promote wigs that she's probably not even sending out to the people paying for them. Hope you reported her to IG (I know they're slow about that stuff, of course, but still).
Black women who share their wig knowledge and tips online are the G.O.A.T.S.!!! I've struggled without hair for nearly a decade. I'm a Indigenous woman used to waist length unnaturally thick black hair. It was a loss of my identity and my confidence with it. I started with a $650 wig that I did love but couldn't afford to replace when it needed replacing. Black women content creators knowledge sharing has helped me so much, although I still struggle caring for mine and no longer wear them often. I do have a nice collection built up though and I think this year I'm going to embrace them again. There's a special place in he%$ for people who scam medical patients
also, the first hairstylist you found was correct about….well, everything. i’m a Black woman but i’m no wig expert (never worn one, momms doesn’t wear em, just no personal experience), HOWEVER COMMA - i am an avid fan of DRAG. watching my fav Queens multiple times/week is where my knowledge of wigs is from; not even the highest paid queens, are paying anything close to $1K for a SYNTHETIC wig. that’s WILD. i’m so pissed off at that company; i feel like starting a riot. i’m really happy you found someone to help you out, someone you can trust.
Oh Romee i can't believe that you paid all that money initially for your wig. We are a lot more fortunate in England with being able to buy a half decent wig for much less than you paid. When my sister had chemo we went to the wig shop and the money we were given by the hospital was not enough to get a decent wig. I remember thinking at the time most people having chemo have not always got the finances to buy a decent wig. My sister didn't but she allowed me to help her so we did get a really nice one. I believe giving people this info will be an amazing asset so thank you.💛💕💛
Everything you said is so true . People that lose their hair for reason they cannot help should be able to find wigs made with real hair and they love and make them feel good , for cheaper ! I’m so glad you found one you love ❤️ it looks beautiful on you Romee 😍
I am a Physician and a Cancer Survivor. You have an awesome channel and I really would like to learn more about how to share my story with others like you are doing. You channel is very professionally done. I really want to thank you for all you do to educate the world about what its like to have cancer.
- Your new wig is gorgeous! - You definitely rock the short hair! - It’s wonderful that you are spreading the word that there are other ways to find a reasonably price wig! Go girl!!! 💞
Romee, this is great feedback for all wig-wearers and your wig and color looks great! Such a shame that you had to go through all the drama to find it, but scammers are out there in full force for just about anything in this world! You look fabulous!
The new wig looks so good on you, but your short hair is also adorable!! You are such a beautiful girl long hair, short hair, no hair your beauty shines through!
I also paid $1000 (partially paid for by insurance) for a synthetic hair wig when I went through breast cancer treatment 15 years ago and lost my hair due to chemo. I have the wig packed away so that I will not have to buy another one if the cancer ever does return. I did find that once my hair started growing back, the wig no longer fit comfortably. I hope that does not become an issue for you!
Your new wig looks amazing :) I'm glad that you found something that was so much more affordable and that you truly love and works well for you. I know this video will help so many people going through this.
In the United States, the American Cancer Society provides 1 wig for cancer patients, my mom had breast cancer and received her wig that way. So sorry you had to go through this 😔 💔
It’s sooo heartbreaking to hear that there are people taking advantage of cancer patients, etc. The hair stylist your niece goes to should be commended for her help, knowledge, empathy, etc. That is a true human being! One who helps…NOT hinders. The new wig with the new color looks fabulous!!! I appreciate that you did this video. I’m sure it will help others going through the same situation. Thanks Romee!!! Blessings, stay safe, be well!!! 🥰🙏
I am so upset to hear about you being scammed but glad you were able to find someone to guide you and help you get a good wig. It really suits you! I think it's great you are talking about this and getting the info out there to help other patients not have to spend as much and get good quality wigs.
THANK YOU for sharing this emotional part of your journey. I am so glad you found an amazing lady to guide you in the right direction. It is comforting to know you found an option that brings you joy and a “let’s do this“ attitude. ✨⭐️💫
I was kind of thinking when you got it, that seems really expensive considering how many people I see wearing good wigs. I wish you'd found this source earlier but glad you found it now!
I think the new wig is beautiful on you. I went through the same thing with my 87 year old mom. The cancer hospital actually had a wig store. Her insurance didn't cover any of the cost. The prices were crazy. Healthcare shouldn't be for profit.
I’m so glad you managed to find such a wonderful woman who could at least balance some of these negative experiences out. You’re right, it’s far too easy to get taken advantage of!
Romee, your new wig is beautiful just like it should be. You are so pretty with or without hair or a wig but I understand how much having a good wig can make a huge difference in how you feel about yourself, your mood etc.. The new wig is a lovely style and color and it really suits you. I am so happy your ordeal with finding a wig you can happily wear and feel good about is over...
You are absolutely gorgeous and I am SO HAPPY that someone helped you!!! The hospital probably gets a kickback from the wig shop when they refer patients there.
It is so not right that the wigs are so expensive for patients that need them! I can’t believe hospitals refer patients to these places. Cancer patients should not have to pay $1000 or more for a wig, at least insurance should cover it. I’m glad you did this video, I think you will help a lot of people who need a wig but can’t afford the expensive ones. By the way, your new wig looks beautiful on you & I am so glad the lady from the salon helped you out!🤗❤️
I wear wigs. Those high prices are for human hair that are way worse to take care of. Belle madam is a European brand that lasts a long time. They can get pricey but have 30% off all the time and don’t look like wigs. Low density synthetics.
WHOOOOOAAAA!That wig looks beautiful!!!!I just watched a channel from a black woman, here on youtube, who wears wigs and looks so different and gorgouss! What a great tip for other cancer-patients!Big hug from Germany🍀❤
Hi Romee, I had a bad experience when I got my wig after I lost my hair from chemo. I spent $500 or more for a wig that didn’t even fit right and it looked horrible. And, my insurance wouldn’t cover it even though my doctor gave me a prescription. I have seen people get wigs on Amazon for $20 that are better. It’s very true that they try to take advantage of people with cancer, I work from home and didn’t go out much, but if I had to be seen more often I would have gotten a human hair wig. You look adorable with the short hair! I hope your scalp improves soon!
I live the new wig. The color looks great on you. I was able to find a company that had very reasonable prices for wigs, when I had to find one for my mom. We are in the US though. I am glad you made this video. Too many people are being ripped off.
That new wig is just so awesome 🥰. The coloris just so perfect for your skin tone. Thanks for sharing those great tips and experience with others who might be in just the same situation. 🙏💗🙌
Romee I'm so glad you did a video on this! Like you said there are more women than just cancer patients who look into wigs. That style and color of your new wig is absolutely stunning on you but you're beautiful hair or no hair!!💕💕 You're an amazing woman and stronger than you even know. I'm so glad you're doing well and you're in my prayers daily. Lots of love from VA USA 💕💕!!!
That wig looks fantastic! Your natural hair is growing out so beautiful, hopefully the skin disease clears up because that 'pixie cut' style looks so good on you!
Being scammed when you are a cancer patient is quite disgusting. I cannot even believe that hospitals even refer patients to those places and make them pay over $1,000. Your brunette wig looks very nice and it really suits you.
Thank God that woman helped her out and got mad for her. She cares. I cannot believe people these days, scamming a woman with cancer. That’s one of the lowest of lows. That new wig looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL. it looks so real!

Your new wig is absolutely beautiful!! It totally fits you much better than the original one even though at the time I liked the original one too!
Love the new wig!!! The red hair looks amazing on you Romee
You look fabulous. Your coloring, your energy....this is your year! God bless!
So very sorry. 😪 The new wig looks great on you! 💜
This one fits you so much better.
@A H I know, it’s just not as easy as it sounds.
WHOOOOOAAAA!That wig looks beautiful!!!!I just watched a channel from a black woman, here on youtube, who wears wigs and looks so different and gorgouss! What a great tip for other cancer-patients!Big hug from Germany🍀❤
The wig looks so good on you!!
Perfect wig!!!!! So happy for you! It’s VERY natural looking!
Love the new wig, the color and style is perfect for you. Excellent video. ♥️
Your new wig looks great on you. I am happy to see that you had a good outcome.
So sorry you had to go thru all that. I actually think you suit your own short hair.
I love the colour of the new wig it looks great on you!
Wow, what a difference! You go girl!!!
That new wig is just so awesome 🥰. The coloris just so perfect for your skin tone. Thanks for sharing those great tips and experience with others who might be in just the same situation. 🙏💗🙌
Romee, you are such a treasure! I’m your cancer walk you have blessed so many and are an advocate for those on the same type of journey!
The wig is absolutely beautiful.
your wig looks fantastic but your natural hair also looks fantastic !!!!
