I wish that 33 years later now, Dawn, Maxine, Terry, and Cindy could watch this video. Just to see how cool, unfiltered and unadulterated they were. Four women of color, from different backgrounds, with EPIC talent in their own right, successful in their own right, schooling Gen X and Millenial folks at this LEVEL. These four women defined my identity as a Negro. They sang without hesitation, in sync and key!! Modulating to different keys, in BLOODY ACAPELLA effortlessly!! To think, that Terry and Cindy are stumbling blocks to a 30+ year reunion out of pettiness breaks my heart. LISTEN: Rhona is a nice singer. She's in the group. She identifies as En Vogue. I accept that. However, IMHO, she needs to bloody stay in her lane and not act like she entertained and made me HAPPY in 1989!!!! *This is when I would go into a rant in Swahili because it just sounds better when you curse someone out in vernacular!!*

I think from oldest to youngest it goes; Cindy, Maxine, Terry, Dawn. In a recent interview dawn talked about how in there earlier how her and Terry were the closest cause they were the youngest.

She and Max both talking about not having money. Then in the “where do you wanna be five years from now” question, Max wanting to be able to stay home and raise a family without *having* to work, and Cindy hoping the group would still be going strong. You can see how Cindy woulda pushed herself to tour (with Luther) right through her pregnancy. Sigh. Love them all still. Icons. ❤

It's really sad that they were Unsung. This group had the potential to be so much bigger. From what I've read, they never even really got paid like superstars. That's why Max kept mentioning money, money, money I some way maybe she was confused to why their pay was so low and after all the work they put in.

This is one one of the hundreds of examples of why I love the music but I hate the music business. I’ve never seen this before but I know they should have grown to be superstars in their own right instead of stars with someone else making the money. Dawn Robinson has been very vocal lately finally talking about what happened after all these years. This video tells a lot. Huge EV fan but this shows me that Dawn really was like the antagonist of the group and she and Terry would really be the ones to buttheads the most. Yes, as an older wiser EnVogue fan I see things differently now than I saw them back in the days. I aint mad at Dawn for wanting to be treated fair and wanting all her coins but there was a way to go about it and she didnt go about it right.
Dawn actually said in a recent interview that she and Terry were the closest because they were the most alike. So, I think both probably are headstrong people, but Terry’s southern upbringing probably causes her to be more intentional and careful with what she says. Cindy’s from California and a lot of people on the west coast tend to let things blow off their backs. Maxine is a Capricorn, which makes sense with her calm, yet strong demeanor.
At 8:41to 8:51 do they look kind of odd singing that part to you, they even sound odd, it is kind of eerie or maybe it is just me but they sound terrific EV fan for life

The people questioning whether En Vogue wrote the lyrics reminded me that there are two versions of the song and two versions of the video. I've never seen the video for the Olympics but I do know that it was also directed by Mark Romanek. Will you be posting it?
Yep, I'm going to post it. I had forgotten all about it until I was going through old disks looking for footage to upload and found that I had it. I don't even remember where I got it from. The quality isn't great, but it's still worth a watch. I'll upload it today.

This video tells a lot. Huge EV fan but this shows me that Dawn really was like the antagonist of the group and she and Terry would really be the ones to buttheads the most. I feel like Dawn would have issues with Cindy cuz she so wishy washy and doesn’t have her own opinion and then Maxine was the one to put her foot down and overtalk everyone because she’s not combative, what she says, goes. Yup that bout sums of what eventually boiled over and ruined the original lineup. Lol
Yes, as an older wiser EnVogue fan I see things differently now than I saw them back in the days. I aint mad at Dawn for wanting to be treated fair and wanting all her coins but there was a way to go about it and she didnt go about it right.

Dawn actually said in a recent interview that she and Terry were the closest because they were the most alike. So, I think both probably are headstrong people, but Terry’s southern upbringing probably causes her to be more intentional and careful with what she says. Cindy’s from California and a lot of people on the west coast tend to let things blow off their backs. Maxine is a Capricorn, which makes sense with her calm, yet strong demeanor.
