  • The Audi A3 1.4TFSI Sedan recently had its name changed to A3 35 TFSI. So, what does that mean? Richard Berry sets out to solve that riddle, along with giving you the answers to other questions about the A35 TFSI Sedan from what it’s like to drive and the safety features it has to how practical and fuel efficient it is.

      Its barely big enough for the average person, but then again the average person in this world is quite small. The front is actually surprisingly roomy for a car this small, but the back seat is one notch above a 2 seater. Basically unusable for adults. It just feels like a fairly poor value for the price when the backseat is so cramped. I'm never going to be back there, but I just feel like Im not getting much bang for my buck with a car this size. Test drove it, and it was great, but here in the US Audi's are on the expensive side for what we know is a very nice tarted up VW. The car is very nice, but then you see the price, and you start thinking about all the other cars you could get for the same money or less. I guess what I'm saying is that it would be great if there was just a little more car to this car. Obviously, better reliability would be great, but I'm not going to fault a German car for being a German car. It is what it is.

    • @JoziGB
      @JoziGB 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pj8761 Hit the nail on the head. I think for that price one should be considering Korean and Japanese cars these days. Hyundai, Honda, Kia and Toyota are coming up with some really interesting cars at a lower price. I am driving the bigger brother A4 B9 and it is the worst financial decision I have ever made I must say, compared to the VW Passat and Arteon.

    Why do car reviewers always want the car to be the size of a Ford Everest and back seats they can sprawl out in? It's a small car. It's not meant to haul 6 adults comfortably. Now Audi is going to make the next fen the size of an A4 and completely ruin what is perfect about the A3. Some people do value maneuverability over a fuel guzzling barge.

    • @JasonLowderTheRanga
      @JasonLowderTheRanga 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find it interesting that my "fuel guzzling barge" (a pajero sport) gets the same fuel economy around town....

      I am 6' 3" and I love my A3. It fits me perfectly. I am an ice hockey goalie in Chicago and I get all my gear in the trunk easily. SUVs suck. They're ugly and do not handle well. When I took my A3 in for annual service at the dealer one time, they said they needed to keep it over a weekend. They gave me a Q5 as a loaner. I was less than happy. I thought they would just give me another A3 to loan.
      When I asked to get an A3 to loan, the dealer said, "We only have Q5s as loaners, because most people like SUVs."
      I was horrified. I took the Q5 because I needed a car. It sucked. I felt like I was going to run other cars off the road because it was so clumsy and slow. But I made due.
      When I returned that terrible car, I made sure to tell the dealer how unhappy I was. I'm sure it made no difference. Most people do seem to like large, awful cars. I hope they make at least an A4 as an option for a loaner in the future.

    A fair and entertaining review, Richard. Can't understand all the negative noises from people who in all likelihood never even sat in an A3, let alone drive one. I test drove this model last week on behalf of a relative. I was initially concerned about the output from what looked a like a tiny 1.4 litre engine. While the car is no rocketship, the 110 kw/250 nm engine was up to the task of delivering smooth, economical power to most city trips. And the car does handle well, a far cry from nose-heavy Audis of old. The A3 probably makes more sense as a secondhand buy as it is now available in reasonably large numbers in the used car market.
