Hi ! Ivory sheet is thick to take 1 layer of water, not too many. ideal would be 300 gsm cotton press. Please watch my lesson no 1 , have explained in depth, the info will you last you a lifetime 😊
There is no right and wrong way of doing watercolor. Whatever you said may be applicable for beginners. But soon you will realise everything is right. It all depends on ur style of painting. What I ask all beginners pls perfect your drawing skill. Watercolor, oil all comes secondary. If your drawing is not correct you can never be good in any medium.
That’s subjective. Using a pencil and controlling water in your paint, paintbrush and paper requires a lot of time. Most beginners when they start do not know this. And these videos are meant for absolute beginners only if you didn’t realise. With time and practice as you said, there will be no right or wrong way to do it. But that comes only with experience. Please watch international watercolour artist Stan millers opinion on this as well. Thanks

My watercolors always floats on paper before but now I'm working on it
That could also be because you aren't using the right paper. It doesn't absorb the water, hence it remains on the surface 🙂
