according to the film "Nowhere boy" John Lennon for this engraving used the Hofner Club 40 not the Gallotone Champion ..... anyway congratulations for the performance

I don't know you, I don't know who you are and how much you know but I mentioned that film because it was taken from the book "Imagine: Growing Up with My Brother John Lennon" written by Julia Baird, John's half-sister and according to that book, as you see in the film, the recording of the song takes place after John's birthday in which his aunt Mimi had given her a new guitar, a Hofner in fact .... I believe that Julia knows a little about this story that's why I mentioned you the guitar .... in any case it has little importance ....

My President is from 1958 and has it brown..It was a std color in those days I suppose...Short after join the band (58), Harrison started to use a pickup to try some kind of amplification...maybe a Hofner one but I´m not sure.
It´s wonderful and pleasure the possibility to have and play the same old gear Quarrymen and Beatles used to play....as a collector. But talking about music quality, really Gallotone is really bad guitar, Zenith is a good one. At those old days, George had best guitar.....Hofner til now has a great tone and low action! Smooth playing!
Does anyone know if you can put a trapeze on a solid guide that has never had one? I mean it's totally new and you don't need one, I want to apply it to my guitar (it's solid wood).I hope answers thanks!
