I spent much of my childhood up the McKenzie River. My grandmother and her husband had a homestead there. On Taylor Creek named after them. My Aunt lived at McKenzie Bridge just behind the store. My aunt and uncle had a cabin there. My grandmother's husband, my grandfather, was murdered up there. He was in charge of a road crew. Way after that we spent wonderful hours up there drinking LEMONADE MADE OUT OF WATER FROM THE RIVER. It was so cold and pure. In liberal Eugene you would think there would be severe restrictions about building on the river front. I am surprised. Everything they do seems to destroy these days.

We live on this river you have no idea what is happening here go back to town and stay away from our hills
