    I would definitely like to see your Ableton setup. Especially if you use it for lighting cues or guitar patch changing too.

    excellent short & sweet intro to tracks. I’m ready to hear the ‘advanced’ version via DAW and Stereo Outs (which I feel is much worth it over mono). and that was my 1st time seeing the ‘Bandhelper’ interface, now I’m intrigued and thinking that would be a great way to automate lyrics. well done

    I second the Ableton setup. We’ve started using Ableton. The part I love is the routing to PA. Our drummer runs tracks on his Mac book and we use an X32 rack. He just runs a usb from the Mac to the X32 and is able to assign the tracks to whichever channel we need.
    Still learning the best and most efficient way to build sets however.

    I’ve used Set List Maker on my IPad for years. I can see all my playing notes at the same time I’m launching the tracks. There are add ons for midi lighting and program change data as well (I’ve never used). Lots of other nice features.

      Set List Maker is an app made by the same developer that makes Bandhelper!

    What if you have stems you want to turn into a backing track but the stems are from the late 60s and have fluctuating tempos?
    I want to make "a day in the life" track out of some great stems i have. Unfortunately the song constantly speeds up and slows down so adding a click is difficult

      @CoverBandConfidential  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I did this with some 80’s stems I had logic convert the kick & snare to MIDI and built my click like that. You could also use ableton to help move it to a more uniform tempo but i fear it may interfere with the essence of the song.

    When you talk about panning the count in to the left and the tracks to the right, are you talking about when you purchase them from the website, or when you are running them live? Thanks!

    • @CoverBandConfidential
      @CoverBandConfidential  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Both- sort of. You can start by panning them on the site before downloading. If you then add cues, those are panned to the click side as well. That way you can use a stereo cable to send click/trax to different mixer channels

    Fast talker but I caught the part about connecting the splitter cable directly to the mixer! All other connection videos use direct boxes and cables everywhere. This was an epiphany for me as I have more channels than needed on my ui16 and can hopefully route this through aux sends for in ear monitors? You’ve got me thinking.
    Thanks.

    • @CoverBandConfidential
      @CoverBandConfidential  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey chuck yes depending on the routing you may be able to use aux inputs. Most folks do use DI’s though

    A lot of good information. Unfortunately, I might need a SUPER beginner's guide because you used a lot of terminology I don't know.

      My man! Send me those terms and I will ABSOLUTELY put a video together. coverbandconfidential@gmail.com

      @@CoverBandConfidential Actually…is there a video you can do (or maybe there is one already) that shows the actually hook up of the iPad to the mixing board? Setting up the sound and getting the songs to play through the mixing board and into the inner ear monitors and through the front of house with no click sounds like such a difficult thing. At least to a guy that doesn’t really understand how to set up sound. The pre-fader term was the term I didn’t know btw. Thank you so much for this video. I’m trying to set up an 80’s cover band and have been viewing this video for how to set up. So thank you. Just a bit more clarification and I think I’ll be well in my way.

    If you can't play it all live don't do it. Get keyboard player with a pad, get your drummer some electric pads too, then map out your click for structure and lighting production. Oh and rehearse the fugg out your live show.
