The key difference in this game with (say) one of Carlsen's is that Niemann played for an offense, but only in a general way. Nepo's position was never compromised and impossible to "exploit". I liked a lot of Hans' moves, though Qe2 near the end, going for Qg7# was may be good, but I saw Qa2, aligning with f7 as good. Doesn't matter. The entire opening prep. failed to hurt Black. Nepo, like most top players, avoids being squeezed by pawns, so that kind of plan won't work. Either find a way to disrupt him or use simple Fischerian play to limit Black while making trades that lead to Black being porous and weak.
