hope this was helpful for those who use the GP MAX! time stamps are in the description, along with GoPro Player, GoPro Reframe and a link to more information on proxy editing! and no, I don't know when the MAX2 will be out!
I am the telemark skier who said hi at Deer Valley on Friday. The telemark skier you ran into just prior was my son. Thought you would enjoy the connection. If you ever want to try telemark I am happy to introduce you. I have extra skis and bindings all you need to rent is boots. Might make a fun episode, Lucas tries tele.
Holy hell! The method to the madness. Thank god you love doing this stuff lol. Seems like a ton of work! I never took your vids for granted but now…. Holy shit. Big props Lucas to all the work you do making these quality vids!
Really like this style of video. Could you talk about your editing and how you keep your video so engaging. Your videos are always a combination of: B roll super shallow depth of field with slow mo, timelapse, POV head cam, slow mo face shot, talking head, and pole cam. Do you have a format or script you follow? Do you shot your B roll before you start skiing? Do you use nd filters? How do you keep it entertaining?
Thanks for the gopro edit lesson!! Ive been messing around with infrared photography. Not sure if you have tried that but with action sports you get some really interesting shots. Mixing in some infrared stills (like a big slash shot) to the videos would be really cool to try.... Pow day here in the PNW.!!!!!!
@@LucasCatania17 it's fun to experiment with. The shots look so cool and you see things in infrared that you would never see in a normal photo. Action sport shots come out great.
Hello lucas keep up with the amazing work that you are doing can you tell me how to make a preset for the headmount so i dont have to edit the same things every time thank you very much!!!
@ what does pops think of it? I’m looking for something that can float on those low snow days less than 6 inches and can bust through chop. I also like laying down some speed on groomers. Maybe you can ask him if it would fit the bill? Thanks
Brother great video, but I need to ask you how do you manage to keep the gopro on when skiing. My shit turns off after just a few minutes. I keep both gopro and batteries under my jacket close to my body, but it still can not work more than a few minutes
Hey I've been wanting to get a 360 cam for some time now and I'm wondering whats best between a GoPro Max and an Insta360. everywhere I've looked I can't find any explanation for the Insta360 on how to change the FOV and lens distortion to fine tune how much lens distortion you have with the 2nd camera etc... Would you happen to know if the GoPro Max offers more options in post production and has better software support (with adobe ....) than the insta 360? Thank you Lucas love the videos !!
i have a 1TB internal SSD on my laptop that i store my current working project on and then when im done with it, i move it to a 4TB external harddrive for storage. i have about 25 harddrives now at this point!
@@LucasCatania17 I think you understood the question just fine. :) So self-taught - both in terms of the camera skills and the editing/software skills. It's a lot of knowledge - thanks for sharing.
You lost me at the helmet mount. Remember, I'm older than Papa Joe. You have so much talent! Missed opportunity to edit the double eject from CMH. I'll be asking to see it on the live stream. So start editing 😀

Super helpful, Lucas. Had no clue they have an updated Reframe plug-in. Second cam is a game changer. Awesome stuff once again.
HELL YEAH! Psyched to watch this!
Enjoy!
Super cool to see the behind the scenes!
Sick vid Lucas! Love the setup btw!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing your flow!
Thank you for putting this together, good info.

Thanks for the tips!!
Also thanks for sharing your workflow! You max footage looks as good as Abe’s!
haha wouldnt go that far but thanks man!
I wish GoPro would make a resolve plugin. The adobe fees are insane for non professionals.
💯
totally man! it would be great to see the reframe plugin for other editing programs.
Hi Lucas,
how to edit footage for breakfast next please.
-A humble subscriber
This is dope! How long does it take to edit each skiing video?
Just picked up an Insta 360 but these editing tips still apply!
of course man - great camera! have fun!

GoPro MAX offers a lot more options in post production using GoPro Reframe and Adobe Premiere pro. Insta360 is easier to use, though.
Thanks 🙏@@LucasCatania17
How do you store all your files!? Raw footage, created clips, edited videos, etc.

This is great stuff - how did you learn this all yourself?
I’m not sure I understand the question. I watched videos, read articles and have been refining the craft for almost a decade
