I love those Gladiators, as they symbolize a very special part of my childhood. They will always be larger than life heros to me, even as an adult..... But they sure could be prima donnas 😂
I could tell as much as how surprised Turbo was with that Tyler Storm's front flip move in Breakthrough, Turbo was not happy with it. Just look at Turbo's face in 2:10. So the referee told Tyler he couldn't do the flip in prior year due to safety issue but Tyler did it quietly anyway a year later... hmm... no wonder Turbo wasn't happy with the move.
The best contestant I ever saw was a guy named Billy Wirth....he played football at brown University, then got into Hollywood, one of his noticeable roles was one of the vampires in lost boys....but he gave all the gladiators a very hard time

There was an article in a magazine. might have been SI. And it was about american gladiators several years after. They had interviews with a bunch of them. And gemini, nitro and malibu admitted Billy Wirth was one of the few contestants they legitimately disliked and in the semifinals that first season they made it a goal to make sure he didn’t advance.
@@danielward8645 no I didn't see it but it's no surprise because he brought it to their ass and like I said he wasn't intimidated or scared of them....those guys were on the gear during that show....so when they are 6'4....230-60lbs against an average Joe of 180 or lighter they have a great advantage, so when a smaller guy comes and throws them around.....they're just pissed of and for the most part jealous......there is a show on Netflix about the American gladiators.....just watched it the other day.....very interesting and that they themselves admitted to roid use etc and talked of Billy Wirth.....Zap, siren ,Nitro, gemini, gold , titan and turbo were obvious users.....Shelly beatty aka siren committed suicide sadly....Hawk had a blood clot in his heart, Gold just oassed away 3 days ago and thunder of a heart attack back in 17-18 ...most likely of ped use... watch that Netflix show on the gladiators...very interesting.

I think Craig Williams made them rethink some things. I’m not sure there was another contestant as big as him again. Probably the only contestant on the show that could physically overwhelm them.
A lot of them were juicing. Roid rage moment maybe? The fake wasn’t a written rule. It was just something that was supposed to be understood as being bad form or manners. And Storm didn’t know. It sure as hell didn’t justify Turbo taking cheap shots.

Billy Wirth really earned my respect the way he kept scoring in powerball even with all the gladiators teaming up and targeting him.
