Before I walk out my door the payment has to go through. That’s why having a website is great and requiring payment before booking is important💯 I rather deal with the person being difficult before I book them and not booking them then getting out my bed, doing the detail service then wasting my time chasing down a customer for money💯 Especially if it’s a client with money, connections, network, lawyers etc that’s a more difficult time🇺🇸 You don’t order stuff online not pay use the item etc then decide to pay so I take the same approach in my detailing business pay first then detail service afterwards.
Excellent video. Everyone will have these customers. Payment can be a real problem despite feeling assured beforehand . I usually hear my wife pays the bills and she’s not here today or you didn’t take long enough
@@thedopestdetailer9693 I’ve had a few of them lately here in Australia . I thought you’d take the whole day to ceramic coat my new car! You couldn’t have done anything but a shoddy job
@@lewisreinhold6398 That’s insane… people need to know that they’re not paying me for what I’d did in 4 hours…they’re paying me for what I’ve learned in 23 years to make magic in 4 hrs😡😡😡
Please a part 2 please. This has happen before. I remove them from my client list. And if they call. I normally respond. I'm booked for the day or week or weekend. A how to deal with non paying clients part 2 🙏
When i get called or messaged and they ask about a "full" detail...well if they message me, i ask them to call me. Once they call me ill ask them what do you mean when you say full detail because everyones idea of full detail is different. So i want to see what theyre looking for or expecting. And like you said they just want a basic interior and exterior detail nothing fancy.. As far as the cost, i explain the cost up front and my payment methods. I don't require a deposit. And thankfully i haven't had the non paying clients. Ive had clients that were upcharged because of the condition of their vehicle, and i told them the service that would be needed to clean it properly, but they said that was too high. So i said well for this price here, I'll do X&Y but Z will be left alone.
Having the ability to listen to your client and addressing their needs while understanding their expectations is a skill all unto itself. You my friend are ahead of the game.
@@thedopestdetailer9693 I believe that customer service is only the beginning. When they text me, I'll text back, but depending on what they want or are asking, I'll ask them if they have a few minutes to call me. Sometimes during texts, things can be misunderstood or a lil harder to explain. I'd rather talk and see what they're wanting. They'll say "Full Detail" but reality they just want a basic 🤦🏻♂️...
@@thedopestdetailer9693 that's true. I love when the client says IDC about the cost let's get it done ( not a mean tone lol) I've had some that have Said well let's do the upcharge this time for next time we'll tackle everything. Some of those clients come back and get the full service some of them don't.
I will not accept that. I have a customer the first time around they refuses to pay me. I will not go back. It’s not a customer. You can trust my time and chemicals are too expensive to be playing around with customers that can’t pay.
Honestly the only recourse of action is simply be proactive… Get paid up front and or only perform service with a credit card booking…. Probably wouldn’t be worth spending legal dollars to punish folks who do this to you.
Redirty the car obviously, dont wanna pay I’ll take the service back 🤷🏻♂️ (I hope you understand that this is just ment to be funny don’t actually do that or you’ll make a bad name for yourself)

Unfortunately it’s gonna happened at least once or twice but being prepared for it is key.
This is my biggest fear when starting a business is not getting paid like what legal avenue do you have
