yea , they updated the announcements early 2011 . I dont know why they used Catherine when they could have just as easily edited the transfer announcements with Dianne
not sure , but i noticed the MTA likes mix matching the announcements when the train gets rerouted. Maybe they do it on purpose so someone who isnt really paying attention to what the announcement says all of a sudden notices its a different voice and pays attention to the announcement since its different then the ordinary announcement they're used to hearing . But then again your guess is as good as mine.
Cont'd: Then at Utica Av, there's a completely new version of the A & C transfer. What happened? Did they lose the original recording or something? At Bway Jct, we have the transfer from the Z line replacing the Dianne announcement. What, the can slice & dice several recordings for Nostrand but they can't pull a LIRR connection from any of the F via D/N or J via N programs at Atlantic Av?
Man, who the hell was making the decisions for the transfer announcements here? At Nostrand Av alone, we have three different spliced recordings. The A is presumably new, the C part is from Dianne's original A & C transfer at Borough Hall for the F and the LIRR part is from the N line.

there actually has been a report and the majority of announcements have been recorded since 2005. I posted the link to the article in the description.
