This is ridiculous. We're not trading him for less than a 3rd round pick and NO-ONE is giving us that! So he either comes in or rots! It's not the Jet fans wanting him to rot, he's the reason he's going to rot.
Not sure why trading him for less than a 3 is a worse route than letting him rot. Because it’ll look bad? It’ll look worse trading a 3rd for a guy who never plays a snap. Just get what you can and move on. Be done with the headache.

I'd have to disagree with that possibility entirely. Unless he's a complete idiot he'll have to return by the trade deadline or otherwise the Jets would still retain his rights. That's at least more valuable than a late round pick. His option to hold in upon return would be equally stupid upon his return. But he's made a whole series of dumb decisions up to now.

I wouldn't be opposed to trading him, the problem on defense I would argue is not pass rushing, but interior defensive line, I would package him with some future draft pick or picks and go and get a deal done to get Devante Adams in green and white. Then I would make a move for a big interior lineman who would be a force to be reckoned with inside with quinnen Williams. And then outside defensive ends you can employ them all to rush the passer and now you see the emergence of will McDonald.
Joe Douglas gave up a 2nd pick for Reddick. If he gets anything less, then JD negotiating skills are suspect.

The problem is that it doesn’t fix Reddick’s contract demands. Whoever trades for Reddick is still going to have to deal with him wanting to be paid like Myles Garrett. No team has been willing to give him that, so why would anyone do that now?

He's like most professional athletes, he wants to get paid. Many hold out to get extentions. Joe Douglas is the only one to blame for trading for him after he declined their contract offer.
He doesn't realize that he is not only losing money (which he seems like he's ok with) but he is hurting his own stock. He might not think that but it's not going to work out how he thinks it's going to work out.

Reddick signed a contract. The fact that he doesn't honor that contract says a lot about him and it's not good. What kind of value does Reddick have to the Jets? Acquire a sixth or seventh round pick? After you used a third to acquire him. No thanks. Think Reddick thinks he is near the end and isn't going to play with the performance he had in the past. This is a money grabbing event for Reddick.

Reddick is just going to get more & more disgruntled the more he gets fined. So even if the Jets give him his money for a one year contract, he’ll just be an angry player & probably not play effectively. I think there are plenty of hungry pass rushers out there who would jump at the chance to play for the Jets D with Aaron running the offense. It's pretty clear JD botched the trade..Why didn't the Jets hold off on trading JFM for peanuts until they got a deal done with Reddick? In fact JD shouldn't have traded for Reddick until they got a deal done, in writing ,on a new contract. If Howie Rosenman couldn't get a deal done with the Eagles why did JD think Reddick would play for the Jets unless Reddick reneged on a verbal agreement?
