- [Pre-Covid incident] Fire crews from Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service respond to a car crash emergency near Stratford upon Avon, alongside our colleagues from Warwickshire Police, and West Midlands Ambulance Service. 1 casualty was extricated, and left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
Please do more of these, me wanting to be a firefighter myself just makes these videos even more amazing!
Hi JamieEmergency999, thanks for your positivity! The aim is to get back into more regular posts, so fingers crossed. It's great you want to be a firefighter, best of luck!
Great clip. It’s great to hear someone explaining the steps of the rescue. A job well done.
Hi Julie Casey, glad you enjoyed the video. Every rescue is different, with their own challenges, but there is a basic framework for approaching all of them. We've done a drill video talking through the '6 phases of a road traffic collision' if you'd like to see it talked through in a bit more detail: th-cam.com/video/j994wgedfGc/w-d-xo.html
@@wellesbournefirestation4420Did HART arrive or no? Cuz that looks like a scene where an Incident Response HART Van would be needed.
Love how the scene command at the end just goes "Go get yourselfs a cuppa tea"
You do an excellent job all of you are appreciated 👏 👍
I love watching the fireman's do there work i always wanted to be a firefighter :)
A single retaining sling on the car was a risk. If the car has suddenly slewed from the front or back there could have been a lot more casualties.
fantastic videos
Hi Jack Hopkins, thanks for your comment. Appreciated😊👍
Whats that ram tipe thing on the frunt
Is it only the full time crews that wear the orange tunics?
Hi Charlzey1998, great question! Both On Call and Wholetime firefighters have the same fire kit (the straw-coloured tunics are thicker to protect from fire, the orange ones are lighter-weight so you don't get so hot running around). It's just fluke (or possibly heard mentality!) that 35 chose to all wear orange, and 40 turned out in the straw-coloured tunics.
Been a firefighter for 37yrs ..Great communication between oic and crew members....respectful conversation between whole time and retained...
I think he likes it
He liked the challenge
Do the medics wear helmets in the Ambulance too?
Hi VfRuckus, our colleagues in the Ambulance Service wear helmets when exposed to higher risk incidents, such as caring for a casualty whilst a car is being cut up around them. I don't believe they wear helmets all the time (not that I've seen anyway), and probably don't wear them in the Ambulance ( we don't wear our fire helmets in the appliances!). Hope that answers your question.
HART Should have arrived on scene there.
Why would they? it was not a major incident, it was not a complex rescue as trumpton secured the vehicle and it was not hazardous. Normal ambulance crews have the capability to perform extrications along with the Fire Service.
