@@jaybeardmusic8074 yes was helpful. I love Scriabin - obsessed even but I don't have the theoretical know-how to understand his music on that level. This and the 9th are my favourites !
@@Bruceykeys You came to the right channel! I have videos analyzing sonatas 4-10 and videos to listen to each sonata with the score with highlighted themes. Enjoy

2:44 its more like a canon then a stretto. Because stretto is using same melody looks like a canon but in different keys. For example : scriabin's e minor fugue's coda section
Mmm you’re saying it’s more like a canon because it isn’t purely based off the motif? Most of it is the motif but you’re right that it breaks away from the motif.
Jay, thank you for your analysis. (I need to find that poem!) Have you considered the interesting similarity between this sonata (one of my favorites) to "Vers la flamme," op.72?
Correction, the F# major scale includes B not B#.
Thank you very much for this analysis and explanation which is more easily digestible 😊
Great to here you found it helpful! Thanks for the feedback! Cheers!

Haha yes, it’s important to me too! I want to resemble Scriabin as much as possible haha.

0:51 should be a B, not B#
Ah yes you're right! Sorry, got carried away with the sharps haha. Putting the correction in a pinned comment. Thanks!

That’s cause I’m a robot designed to teach music theory 😂 Naw I’m actually staring at the script which is right next to the camera.
