  • Aaron and Angel head all the way to Zurich, Switzerland for the first episode of the Europe Vlogs series. In this episode, they meet up with Ugo Boillat (@big_machinery on Instagram) and a crew of guys from Stutsman-Gerbaz to check out a demolition site with Eberhard.
The project is a new bridge for a railway. Eberhard had already done the bulk of the demolition work before the crew got there. Once ready, a newly constructed bridge will be slid in to replace the old bridge that was torn down.
To learn more about Eberhard, check out their website at eberhard.ch/. #demolition #excavator #construction

Should American companies do demolition more like the Swiss?

It would be nice to see more innovative tech here even if it cut into profits as some of the toys they have are freaking cool as heck

I definitely agree, I work for a demo company called Sage Demolition in Utah. We are really striving to go more for the style in Europe. They definitely know what they are doing.

@@johnballin526 the cut into profits is only on the first sight... sure there are special tools and plenty of high tech attachments used but so you use the right tool for the right job on a single machine and the material being processed can be reused again somewhere for example as ABC or as one content part for new concrete... in Austria we have a company that is recycling old concrete and using it's contents to make new concrete out of rubble from demolitionsites
so the concept pays for itself once you get the concept started and running for some time

Work on a Sunday blasphemy & I am not a religious man. The attachments are cool and all but I think they would need more maintenance IMO.

The work on Sunday was necessary because the road could only be closed over the weekend. Thus, the old bridge and the foundations could be completely demolished from Friday evening until Monday morning. 😄
      greetings from Switzerland

the oilquick only requiers some o-rings to be replaced from time to time and for the attachments themselves they need to be hardfaced or replace the wear parts when needed

The oilquick does not need much attention, depending on how dusty your site is, you have to clean the connections, and put your attachments somewhere, where they are not hit or burried, some times an o ring has to be replaced. But that is nothing against many hose damages we had before because the hoses are long and grinding on the arm, or get caught in the rebar, damaged when transporting attachments etc. Also you are easy on fuel and wear and tear, if you always work with the right bucket or attachment.
