05 LLY Duramax limp mode repair

This is a little video about my LLY duramax that left me stranded on the interstate because it was in lamp mode tracker mode, I made it to an o'reilly to have it scanned and seen number 8 injector code so when I touched the number 8 pigtail And add the batteries on the hooked to clear any codes it started running good So I hit the road to try to make it home 4 hours away and it kept on giving me on giving me an issue every so ofthey're so often until it finally left me stranded for good about 10 miles from home I was from home didn't matter how I wiggled it it would not run good, When I got it Towed home The next day it started and I was able to narrow it down to the number 8 pigtail and now it is running good and clean

Do you know if this is related to the FIcm issue you had before this?

No this happened before my FICM problem, this was couple months after I bought the truck an did the headgaskets myself and coming back from Florida it did this to me ,so I did the pick trick and has been good ever since almost 2 years ago, then the FICM went bad last summer and I didn't know they were problem until then. , so that FICM lasted a little over a year (just out of warranty) and messed up again last month and I was in Florida again and sent over to west palm beach where a rebuilder said who ever did it before did terrible work and they redone the whole thing so this time I got extended 6 yr warranty on that, was doing great for few weeks, now I'm having this issue with #1 injector plug so I did pick trick last night and fixed it. But I think I'll replace this pigtail, thanks for watching Vassmotorsports

What is the ice pick trick?

When you unplug the pigtail off injector an take a small pick to bend terminal just enough to make it tight and make contact to injector terminals again. But don't bend to far or might not plug back In or worse do harm to injector, I had my #8 I did it to and lasted 2 years. Then it messed up on a trip to Florida and I picked it 3 times and it got so bad I just replaced the pigtail , and my #1 did it month before that and same thing only lasted couple days til I replaced it. So if having a problem pick trick is a band aid but I won't depend on it ever again, just replace the pigtail, they sell in any auto parts store in stock or order on eBay, thanks for watching Vassmotorsports
