This song probably changed my view on life when I was about 9 years old. Now, about 10 years later, I would say listening to Rise Against is and was the best decision I made at this age. It's just so amazing how music can affect you and your life. For all I can say right now: I won't spent my life trapped in a cage.
Cool. My high school had monthly guitar club performances in the lecture hall at lunch. Unfortunately I graduated before I got into this band, but at the end of my junior year I did a duet of Jesus of Suburbia with one of my friends.
I'm going to see Rise Against live tomorrow night, and I was sat here wondering how I know all the words to this song. Thanks, NFSU2. EDIT: Just got home. Rise Against were awesome. And I couldn't help but think about buying a Peugeot 206 😂

"rock bottom's where we live, and still we dig this trenches..." I know it may sound stupid but that part quite literally helped me trough VERY tough times...
Most of people get here because of the racing game lol, anyway it is an excellent way to introduce this kind of music. It's not my case for I found out the band through another great rock band and since that time it became my favourite :)
Even to this day I am so happy that this exact song came on as my first ever race in need for speed underground 2.. I would never have known such a fantastic band existed. Thank you Rise Against for the chance to hear you guys
I wish they would still "give it all" in making music with a fiery social/political meaning and passion that they've since lost. I still appreciate their earlier albums and what they did to open my mind and help me discover myself as a kid.
Their first 2 records are definitely still my favorites, but they've only scaled back on the screaming / faster-paced songs. Literally every album since RPM has been stuffed with social/political/ecological meaning. I'd love to hear another fast/heavy album from them, but I still have nothing but absolute respect for RA.
@@pjslon2218 The Sufferer and the Witness is probably my favorite album by them even though it could be considered when they started softening their sound more. I thought Appeal To Reason was decent too even though it wasn't as good as their previous albums imo. I've tried listening to their albums since Appeal to Reason and really wanted them to click, but they just didn't do it for me... Any messages felt intentionally vague and watered down to please mass audiences and the songs felt uninspired. It's been a while since I've given the newer records a try so I might give it another shot. I just feel like the events of 2015-now should have given them more fire and a more explicit message, not less.
@@pjslon2218 I do wanna mention that I understand the most passionate and politically/environmentally minded people tend to mellow and soften on that stuff over time, not losing their beliefs but growing tired of always being at 110% all the time and trying to enjoy their lives. I feel it happening to me as I get older, I still hold the same beliefs and passions but am less eager to get into debates or be out on the streets as an activist. It's only natural to mellow out with age. I just feel like there's been a severe lack of music with a (leftist) message that's actually good during a time where it's especially warranted. A lot of people who listen to Rise Against casually now might have no idea the origins of the band or that they are explicitly a leftist band.
@@WinterReflections all good points. There were a bunch of years that their music was a bit too "boring" (some of AtR, Endgame, The Black Market), but their last two (Wolves and Nowhere Generation) brought them back into a more regular rotation. Definitely check out those last two records.

State of the Union, Give it All, Grammatizator, Death Blossoms, просто у Райзов все четко сведено, в то время как в хардкоре обычно подвал-стайл приветствуется
Back when NFS Underground 2 came out with this song I was 13 and my little bro was 6, he used to tell me that each time he was racing his friends during the class break he used to think about this song and it made him "run faster". He's now almost 22, me 29 and we still listening to this like before. Love you bro 💖
There are two songs that get me ready for a toughest battle : this one ( especially the sick bass line in the chorus ) and "Shipping up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys
Fortifier yes and no. they have other songs that have a way stronger message and I would watch over this for the video too. its great but not the best :p imo
I personally have to say I think they're best track is "Life Less Frightening" main reason being is because it is always going to be a relevant song if you look at the lives of folks in Palestine, Syria, Lybia etc
Fortifier I seriously have a really hard time picking a favorite RA song, but this one is possibly it... One of the greatest bands of the 2000's in my opinion...

IKR ? no worries ? no duties ? no money to waste ? Life was a fucking pink unicorn. Now ? work, bills, life is a pile of shit ( still enjoyable from time to time, but hey ... ), damn !
Omg, I remember drifting to this song in NFSU2, memories. *cries*

First time listening to this song in NFSU2 games. 12 years ago. So nostalgic when listen it now 😊
NFS ? No one mentioned Flatout 2? That was and is the best racing game from 2006-2014
YES! I LOVED FLATOUT 2! AND MX VS ATV! Man, when I was a smaller me. What a good time.
Hunter Petree I liked both Flatout 2 and Burnout 3 because of the music!!!
Exactly!
Still playing trough Flatout 1-2-3

Good job bro :)
So much energy in this song
"Yo dude, word on the street is there's some action brewing at the Hotel Plaza. It should be some easy pickings so I thought you might want in. No word on an exact location yet..."
Hehe NFSU 2
Serial Crepeist You know, word on the streets say that if you remember playing this game, you get a veteran's award/discount. 😊👍
Well, all of Chicago (bands home town) is easy pickings if you are a looser looter. Stolen New kicks are the Corona cure
PIGEON PARK YO LIVE IN ARGENTINA ahre no se hablar english
"Oh and did you knowRA iss playing in Bayview tonight? Should be an epic night. get down here as soon as your done ignoring me 3 times and picked out that useless car"
10 years, still love the song and Rise against 🤘🏻
Yess
That awkward AWKWARD moment when I realized not everyone LOVES LOVES LOVES this song. And can actually straight faced say, "Yeah, it's alright". I have no idea how they do it. But good on them.
In the meantime this song is part of my soul. Whatever. No big deal. It's alright.
This whole album in general is crazy good... Nd in alot of ways, helping me get through the bullshit that is currently going on in the world today!!! Definitely an album for every open minded individual!!! Please open your mind, before it is all too late...
Driving down through Jackson Heights in my black 350Z when this would play. Suddenly, my car would go faster. Definitely the best song in the NFS series
What about riders on the storm and get low?
Best game in the series too

I still have no idea what this song is about, but knowing other Rise Against songs, probably something super meaningful
0:47 the breakdown back into the beat is so unforgettable to me.
2020 still jammin. One of the best songs they ever made.
With yea mate!
*THE best song🤟🏻
Word my man
I miss the old times, where I would just sit in our Garden with my brother and our friends, drink beer and listen to good old music like Rise against, Billy Talent, Linkin Park, Tenacious D, etc❤
10 years back we play NFS and lisening this song. Now we drive real cars and lisening this song.. amazing vibe and nostalgic
First song I ever heard from them.
On a random parkour vid...
Loved em ever since!
Urban ninja lol
yeah nice, me too :D
Same here
Yesss dude!
first song i heard them was from NFSU2
[Verse 1]
Break through the undertow
Your hands I can't seem to find
Pollution burns my tongue
Cough words I can't speak, so I
Stop my struggling
Then I float to the surface
Fill my lungs with air, then let it out
[Chorus 1]
I give it all
Now there's a reason why I sing
So give it all
And it's these reasons that belong to me
[Verse 2]
Rock bottom's where we live
And still we dig these trenches
To bury ourselves in them
Backs breaking under tension
For far too long these voices
Muffled by distances
It's time to come to our senses
Up from the dirt
[Chorus 2]
We give it all
Now there's a reason why I sing
So give it all
And it's these reasons that belong to me
[Bridge]
Breathe (breathe)
The air we give (give)
The life we live (live)
Our pulses racing distances
(Breathe) so wet my tongue
(Give) break into song
(Live) through seas of competition
[Verse 3]
So please believe your eyes
A sacrifice
Is not what we had in our minds
I'm coming home tonight
Home tonight
[Chorus 2]
We give it all
Now there's a reason why I sing
So give it all
And it's these reasons that belong to me
[Outro]
Today I offer all myself to this
I'm living for my dying wish
I give it all
Now there's a reason
There's a reason
To give it all
Break through the undertow, your hands I cant seem to find.
Pollution burns my tongue,
Cough words I can't speak so I
Stop my struggling, then I float to the surface
Fill my lungs with air, then let it out.
I give it all, now that's the reason why I sing.
So give it all, and it's these reasons that belong to me.
Rock bottoms where we live, and still we dig these trenches,
To bury ourselves in them, backs breaking under tension.
For far too long these voices, muffled by distances,
It's time to come to our senses, up from the dirt.
We give it all, now that's the reason why I sing.
So give it all, and it's these reasons that belong to me

"rock bottom's where we live, and still we dig this trenches..."
I know it may sound stupid but that part quite literally helped me trough VERY tough times...
I don't find it stupid I find it very emotional
AND ITS THESE RAISINS THAT BELONG TO MEEEEE~
I don't like raisins. You can have them all.
+Peter Torls But what if i would eat that raisin?
Maybe i have my reasons to eat raisins :o
But...I like raisins
raisins :'D Fuck yes.
+Managarmr420 "Fill my lungs with hair, then let it out" xD
Most of people get here because of the racing game lol, anyway it is an excellent way to introduce this kind of music. It's not my case for I found out the band through another great rock band and since that time it became my favourite :)
some of my friends listened music like this when we were 14,15.. now I'm 20 and I'm the only one still right here.. am I lonely?
hati I'll be 20 next month and I really like this song :)
yes, you're lonely

FLATOUT TOO :D
Underground 2 ftw!
Underground 2 is the best car game ever made . And this was the perfect track for it . Will never forget 🇿🇦❤
40 y.o Aussie, loved rise against for over 20 years.. Nearly every song is still relevant today.
Even to this day I am so happy that this exact song came on as my first ever race in need for speed underground 2.. I would never have known such a fantastic band existed. Thank you Rise Against for the chance to hear you guys
When you grow up and realise how deep their videos were...hits so differently ❤️
Eu fui, eu sou, eu sempre serei fã do Rise Against 💚
Year this is flatout 2!
Early 2000s. When video games used to have good songs in them
I wish they would still "give it all" in making music with a fiery social/political meaning and passion that they've since lost.
Please bow your head and say this prayer 🙏
"CREATOR, LORD GOD,
Please help me against evil and all who favor it. Thank you for everything CREATOR, LORD GOD. Amen."
Please do this now 🙂🙏🙏🙏
NFS Underground 2 ! :/ Nostalgia...

Same that 206 was favorite Drift in Underground 2.
Using the honda in all the game xd
Probably the last time a tail dragger was properly modeled in a need for speed game
By the First time i heard this song i was playing NFS, now i listen and pay attention to the lyrics, there is a new reason for hear this song. GIVE IT ALL, ALL THE TIME, ALL THE WAY

Oh no, I can't unhear "And its these Raisins that belong to me"
@@jetray.
State of the Union, Give it All, Grammatizator, Death Blossoms, просто у Райзов все четко сведено, в то время как в хардкоре обычно подвал-стайл приветствуется
I love the "dirty" sound of this song.. Hard to explain but the word that comes to mind is grunge..
i know why it happens! You have grown an extra chromosome
It almost takes you back to their punk feel. Hell yea bud!
Yeah! His voice is sick in this song.. love it.

Anyone else feel the same?
Hell yeah brother!

Back when NFS Underground 2 came out with this song I was 13 and my little bro was 6, he used to tell me that each time he was racing his friends during the class break he used to think about this song and it made him "run faster". He's now almost 22, me 29 and we still listening to this like before. Love you bro 💖

Os mitos conhecem
By far the best song by Rise Against!
+Fortifier
Chamber the Cartridge and Collapse are better IMO, but this is still #3
Yes! Life Less Frightening is seriously underrated and one of my personal favourites. I find it really hard to pick an overall favourite.
Fortifier I seriously have a really hard time picking a favorite RA song, but this one is possibly it... One of the greatest bands of the 2000's in my opinion...
Both FlatOut 2 and Need for Speed Underground 2 has brought me here.
Both games are masterpieces.
Rainy day, a tube TV, My PS2, This music playing and me speeding up my Lancer EVO, Thank you for being part of NFS Underground 2 ❤
Skateboarding and going to punk-rock shows anyone?

Break through the undertow
Your hands I can't seem to find
Pollution burns my tongue
Cough words I can't speak so I stall myself again, then I fall to the surface
Fill my lungs with air
Then let it out
I give it all
This is the reason that I sing
So give it all
Cause it's these reasons that belong to me
Rock bottom's where we live
And still we dig these trenches
Bury ourselves in them
Backs breaking on the tension
For far too long these voices
Muffled by distances
It's time to come to our senses
And from the dark
We give it all
This is the reason why I sing
So give it all
It's these reasons that belong to me
Breathe, the air we give
The life we live
Our voices raising distances
So when my tongue
Break into song
You seize a competition
So please believe your eyes
Of sacrifice
Is not what we had in our minds
I'm coming home tonight, home tonight
We give it all
This is the reason why I sing
So give it all
It's these reasons that belong to me
Today I offer up myself to this I'm living for my dying wish
I give it all
Now there's a reason, there's a reason
To give it all

Yep. This was my song in high school. All those days walking and later driving to and from school with friends. Great times
