      The carpet that I use in my videos are carpets made specifically for carpet installation in homes such as stairs and rooms, this way it’s made for this purpose and it’s pretty install friendly as far as stair runners are concerned!
      That being said, people use all kinds of different things for stair runners that I do not recommend! They can be dangerous as they may move around on the stair!
      If your looking for a particular stair runner we do have make custom stair runners for the DIYer that we ship all over North America And have many success stories, if your interested drop me a message keith@directcarpet.ca or just respond here in this thread!

I know you said that the padding should be one inch shorter on each side than the runner but I am wondering about the measurement of the padding on the tread/step from the nose to the riser? I've learned so much from your videos! Thank you for making them!
    Question:
    How do you cut the carpet at the last step when you've stapled that same area on the 45 degrees? You seem to be able to slice it cleanly without any trouble. I'm asking because that's the one step I feel like I might get into trouble with.

    • @KeithShannonDirectCarpet
      @KeithShannonDirectCarpet  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I angle the staples into an almost 70degree angle or whatever the top riser lip will allow / this way the staples kind of hit short of the cut area/ also I don’t cut the last stair or any stair I’ve stapled on a 45 degree / I try to cut it almost flush / when you hit a staple / change your blade immediately and start your cut in front of that staple then when finished cutting come back to that one 😀

    Thanks so much for that video it was great. The only thing is your music is too loud and distracting so it’s hard to hear you at times.
