The Russian military is by far the most incompetent I've ever observed in my entire career, if not my lifetime. Let's see some Chechen geniuses firing at nothing with an AK in each arm like they're posing for a movie-- because they are. The first time we saw that we looked at each other and said "Are you f'in kidding me? Russia lost the first Chechen war to these clowns?" Ridiculous. And they acted *proud* of it. They actually *thought* this made them look tough. No clue how every professional military person on the planet was rolling their eyes, or laughing. And it only got worse. The First Guard Tank Army **ran** rom a bunch of Hummers in Kharkiv. Seriously? And now their clinging to the hope that Trump gives them **permission** to take territory they haven't been able to take themselves. But it's not up to Trump. They don't seem to understand that.
"....now THEY'RE clinging to the hope that Trump will give them *permission* to take territory they haven't been able to take themselves." If Pres. Trump were planning anything of that sort, he would not have appointed Mike Waltz as his National Security Advisor, or Marco Rubio as Secretary of State. Nor would he have chosen Keith Kellogg as his special envoy for ruzzian and Ukraine. It's funny how the ruzzians seem to think that Pres. Trump is going to do ruzzia some huge favor, even after nude photos of Mrs. Trump have been plastered all over ruzzian state TV, and the detestable warmonger Skabayeva has hurled insults at Gen. Yeah, well, not EVERY politician but some indeed do. I don't think that this is a good way forward because the Russians won't negotiate in earnest. They will just drag this out until they have recovered and then they will attack again. I think Russia is nearing a tipping point. With They are getting progressively more desperate for "wins", and like in Kursk we are seeing more and more bind charges to score a win before the winter. This is leading to massive losses with will lead to more and more desertions. Those deserters will start to let other Russians know the real state of affairs which will cause more desertion. Which will make the generals even more desperate and careless. This could hopefully lead to a total collapse.
This sounds like a local shortage of barrier troops to enforce assaults. The many salients created by their new strategy seem to be stretching the barrier troop capability beyond its limit in this case. Otherwise, desertion is not an option.
I'm really hopeful that your logic holds true ! But maybe Trump's inauguration, rather than winter has something more to do with it. If so, Trump's ego would be eyeing off a Noble Peace prize !
The Russians are creating multiple salients that increase the length of the front line. Evidently their barrier troop forces are becoming thin enough to make desertion a practical option for some.
One can hope. But the high losses from these operations feels intentional, as if the operations are plausible enough for the troops to enter the field (of their own volition), but were obviously never going to work.
@@realiteechecka Even if they hear the Ukranian claims they're unlikely to believe them. However, they will have a decent idea of how many of their own unit have been killed or wounded. And if you know that in the last week your own unit has taken more casualties than Moscow admits to for the entire army, and that your current casualty rate is say 5 or 10x what it was in the summer, it'd be perfectly reasonable for those soldiers to decide to mutiny rather than die in a futile assault tomorrow or next week.
Same as last year. Tens of thousands of Russian soldiers froze to death last winter due to lack of supplies, rotation, and winter gear (it was issued, but apparently most never made it past the warehouses, and also coincidentally it was really cheap to buy a Russian soldiers winter coat online).
@@BraunheimLoL, oh please we all know how trump thinks he can end this war. By giving into Putin. So the narrative fits. However, reality is trump has no say in this war. All he can do is not sign aid into law. Which isn't going to be passed anyways. Which means no leverage.
It's not a surprise. This fact is inherent in their Philosophy they adopted. During the rise of Lenin and Communism, they robbed people of their property then imprisoned and murdered them.

Pour la guerre en Ukraine c''est une bonne chose, mais pour la suite en Russie je sais pas si c'est une bonne chose de par le chaos qui pourrait en déboucher, genre avec les tchétchènes, etc....
At some point of losses every army will break. The Russian Army is no different. Though I have to give credit to the Russian Men who have fought. They've lasted far longer than I thought it would be possible before breaking.
I think it's actually easy to understand, the ones who are at the contact line, evaporate very fast, and are replaced by the next wave of prisoners/people promised a lot of cash to sign up, they don't get told the reality of their chances before the first BMP in the convoy blows up. So there is very little feedback or reserve units to start panicking, word doesn't get out very much. The current russian gov is actually pretty good at 'sourcing' their troops from the most backwater areas they can and mixing them in groups so there is as little crosstalk and building of camaraderie as possible. Thats a big difference with 1917 where the tzar had already been deposed and they had 2 different revolutions causing a government change in that same year before the bolsheviks started essentially sabotaging the entire military command chain by allowing common soldiers to form decision groups by themselves. Things unraveled very quickly after that.
Thanks Man! We heard about all this awful conditions and low morale for the last 2 years but no mass desertions or line collapse except the one in Kharkiv. Why? Why then and why now and why not all those other battles over 2 years?
That's like asking any abused victim what made them finally kill their abuser. Simple they finally saw that the abuse wasn't going to stop until one of them was died and they decided they wanted to live.
I'm not sure why that other commenter asked why you were asking - isn't a richer understanding why we are all here? Usually they are taken out by the Chechen backing troops. Clearly that didn't happen this time. I am also curious why. Does Putin just have too many active directions to block all of them with Chechens? Has Kadyrov become less involved since getting into his own beef with that oligarch from Dagestan? If so that would be important news, if Kadyrov feels free to ignore Putin's priorities. At the time of Kharkiv it happened because the entire front on the russian side was badly disorganized and undermanned. Russia was trying to get away with using far fewer troops than he has now. Come to think of it, we didn't see the backing troops then either. I assume that is because the size of the area abandoned was just too vast and they were surprised. If you recall, Ukraine had been fainting that it would attack Kherson instead, and then fell on Kharkiv. Good question.
@@realiteechecka Yep. Negative morale is cumulative. And if you've seen how bad things are now, and you know it'll be worse over the winter, then it makes sense that some would see the writing on the wall and try and get out.

I wondered when the Rus soldiers would mutiny. I got the feeling this war is not popular in Rus, and the soldiers are being sent simply to 💀 with no proper trading, and them unpopular with Rus pubic. Rasputin is nuts. I don’t know why he attacked 🇺🇦 in the 1st place. Just dumb. I do not blame the Rus soldiers. Wishing to “defend” one’s country is honorable, but Rasputin is on some nonsense and sending soldiers to fight for stupid cause, when Ukraine 🇺🇦 wasn’t minding their own business!
The cause is for the glory of Putin. He wraps himself in the robes of a leader who will restore a dying and fragmented empire. But that's all facade. Putin only cares about Putin.
Greed. Biggest steel production plant in Europe. Biggest nuclear power plant in Europe. Best grain fields in Europe. Biggest iron mines in Europe. Ownership of the Black Sea north of the Caucasus. But the REAL reason? Trillions of dollars of rare earth and prize minerals that have never been mined in Ukraine.
@ I figured there had to be “something,” bec I had not heard of Ukraine 🇺🇦 as a nation causing any trouble. Next thing, Rus messing with that country, instead of perhaps 🤔 approaching honorably to strike an honerable deal with Ukraine 🇺🇦 for something to benefit both countries. This is very sad for everyone involved. In addition, I have long wished to visit Rus as a tourist. Now I am nearly ready to travel and retire, but I probably won’t get to visit Rus. I used to wish to visit since a girl when it was still Soviet Union. This war is bad news and I don’t think its popular with the ppl of the count try or with the soldiers-It’s “officials” who sit safe in offices. Of course, my hearts goes out to brave Ukraine. No winners in this awful war.
I feel sorry for the poor Russian soldiers that are forced into hopeless and pointless Cannon fodder attacks just to catch bullets attempting to drain Ukrainian supplies. I cannot imagine their desperation between advancing to their deaths or retreating towards their deaths. Neither can I imagine the suffering of their parents, children, wives and siblings.
What’s weird is all other channels reported this the other way. NATO also confirmed it. As well as logistical problems and the loss of nato troops and munitions. So who is right? This is not a war. It’s a testing ground. 🤷🏼♂️

One assumes there has to be a point where any force will break and run. Maybe for the Russians getting past 2k casualties a day is finally that point?
The Russians are creating multiple salients that increase the length of the front line. Evidently their barrier troop forces are becoming thin enough to make desertion a practical option for some.
Would that assume that the Russian soldier on the front line has knowledge of the causality figure ?

Winter is coming. russian soldiers on the ground are becoming russian soldiers under the snow.

The Russian commanding officers are damned if they do and damned if they don't. They should desert with their troops.
Does that mean that Ukrainian forces will take back some Russian-occupied land ?
Unlikely in the short term. The eastern front is better supplied and still has the Chechens shooting retreating troops, so desertions will be fewer.
I would be suprised

At some point of losses every army will break. The Russian Army is no different. Though I have to give credit to the Russian Men who have fought. They've lasted far longer than I thought it would be possible before breaking.
is that a sign of courage, or submission.

Well for one there wasnt a firing squad to kill people falling back this time.
Theres more to it tho.
Why ask this question here?
The idiom "the straw that broke the camel's back" applies in this case.

What about desertions in ukr army? There are also bad news...😮
Yeah, I bet this has set back Putin's other plans for expansion of his influence.
Rat puutin
It won't take much longer. Thank you, keep working.
The russian soldiers volunteered to kill Ukrainians. They went there for money. In these circumstances it is quite difficult to feel sorry for them.
Thank you for the update.

Failed missions, abandoned positions & major desertions, this should result in HUGE Ukrainian land grabs and advances but report after report of such situations has seen little gains. Come on Ukraine, drive back, move forward, hold and repeat.
