Thank you James. There's a tuned version going out in a bit. Slightly different thumbnail, 1 minute less and more written info on screen.
I'm doing them as a comparison. TH-cam is getting harder to get engagement with Views, subs, hours, likes.. Its all going a bit too quiet. The next video is better I think. Jamie

Thanks for that - I've just bought one and couldn't see how to fit the blade under the plastic retainer until I watched your video. Stanley don't give much info! 👍

That's great. Glad it helped. Just looked and your view contributed to 1/8th of a penny. 😂 This is crazy really. But, I enjoy it most of the time.

Love this knife so much that i have 4 of them
I work as a vehicle electrician and i made my own knives for years becaus i couldn't find a wharncliffe style blade in the right lenght.
I searched for a long time before i found stanley 5901 blade and it is perfect.
I made a sheath for it so I dont have to fold it becaus i use it so often.

I tried the same the same blade type in the disposable scalpel form. Packet of three for very little money, can be sharpened easily. Ideal for getting into nooks and crannies. Perhaps a little flexible. I keeps him with the dovetail gear.

Thank you for sharing! I've got the knife for a few days and i thought that something didn't fit properly because the black plastic piece on the bottom doesn't goes all the way in when the blade it's folded but looking at your video I see that is how it's designed. Happy crafting!!
    Cheers from Spain

This type of knife is a favorite of Paul Sellers. He's had the same one {there are marks identifiable on his) for years of videos. He always uses it for knife marks before chiseling. I have one but have to find it. I remember putting the lightest coats of 3 in 1 oil (US name) on the spare blade. Never rusted before I misplaced it.

Ah Mr. P Sellers. I think I've seen him use one. Thank you for sharing 👍

I recently came across one of these in a thrift store. Ordered a few variants to see how they are new.

A great little knife to have in the pocket, on the bench, in a drawer.

Is that black thing that is inside the cover made of plastic or metal?
    Thanks from India!!

I make them myself. The next time I've got some spare leather I'll be making some more.
It would really help me out if you were a subscriber. Thank you for watching. Jamie

Looks very unfriendly to user... Blade deployment is outdated, i could see this as a nice slide out knife...
