I have the Colour Venn, and I love it. It's easy to tell the time once you get used to it, and it's a watch that you want to take a moment to look at when you check the time. It's always a different layout and color combo.
i'm glad you put the spotlight on the artists first because these watches are first exactly that: art. the watches are just the medium the artists put themselves into. they aren't the best of watches but they are special.
Mr. Jones Watch is the greatest watch company to come out recently. They are incredible innovative and I can’t wait to see what else they put out. Just open a physical location too!
I loved the Colour Venn but I wish it wasn't over $500. What a neat concept though. Eff it, I just bought it. $569.63 after taxes. Thank you Watchfinder & Co for the heads up. This is my first "Swiss movement" watch not including my System 51 that broke right after I bought it (super disappointing).

This looks like a more mature version of Swatch. Swatch always talk about art on your wrist but tbh most look pretty boring. Mr Jones however does achieve what Swatch can't and create affordable art for your wrist
I have A Perfectly Useless Morning and I love it so much, it's a quiet, reflective, somehow homely watch. A fox lays sleepily curled up while a golden bird circles lazily above. The glint of silver birches and a crown of leaves complete the scene. The colours, light play, and depth are so alluring. What's more, it's incredibly easy to read too, the wingtip and leaf serving perfectly as minute and hour hands. One thing I would mention is that your macro shots make the printing edges look fuzzy in some places and I'd like to re-assure viewers that under my 10x loupe I don't see anything like the fuzzy edges shown in some of these shots. Maybe I just got lucky?!
I love my Blueberry Late, but because I've gone a bit stupid in my old age, I've only just realised that I could have swapped the strap and I would have gone with the light blue leather.

Hey Mr. Hands: You mentioned it briefly as the reminder of mortality, but "The Accurate" is the horological equivalent of a sharp swing of a Zen stick to the lower back. "Remember, you will die." Mr. Jones is clearly not just an artist, but a bodhissatva. And oh yeah, that colour Venn watch is brilliant.
I was about to purchase the "Richochet" but then I saw the "The Ascendent" and immediately got in love with the uniqueness of the piece. I'm thrilled to put it on my wrist!

I agree, putting the movement aside which I think is obvious from your comment - that face style lends itself to a reinterpretation using this technique.
I have a Mr. Jones' Nuage watch. For the price, it's quite good. The case design is quite underwhelming and the weight of the watch feels quite cheap, but the actual artistry on the dial and the gilding of the crystal is real cool. Hard to get that type of artisan style on a watch under $1000, let alone $400.
Website now saved to my home screen, one of the selection will be my next watch. Appreciate you running this and spreading the word, I hadn't heard of them before this.
Lol, “most have never worked on a watch before…” is a lot truer than we wanted. I got 4,and 2 had quality control issues. One I fixed with my watch tools, the other I took to my friendly neighborhood horologist who fixed it for free out of curiosity. I am supportive of upstarts but the casual attitude pf the workers seen on the site reflected on the products sent out. I was going to order a few as gifts but I didn’t want to burden my friends with unpleasant surprises.
I was thinking of a clock or watch idea using CMYK colored panels, similar to Felipe Pantone's kinetic sculptures, to tell time. I'm glad to see that watch already exists! I'm excited to hopefully own one 😁
I bought The Promise of Happiness a couple of years ago because I loved reading a book about a Tiger with my daughter. I picked up a Guilded Skull a few months ago in their sale, and possibly tempted by the Number Cruncher if they have a good Black Friday discount.
Perfectly useless morning, is enchanting. If visit their Oxo tower showroom, it's fun staring at the dials for signs of movement, to figure out the minute and hour "indicators". Feel they should be hung in a gallery, than shop space.
I would love if you can review the Serica 5303-3. I have plans of getting it and would really like to see if you can review it. It has a nice backstory with how Serica is founded.
My issue with Mr Jones is that their lower end models have cheap quartz movements with quality control issues. I just wish Mr Jones would more a little bit up market to pair their quality dials with high quality builds. At the moment they're (mostly) fashion watches with expertly executed dials.
Idk about their QC issues, but I think quartz movements are better long term cuz it won't be needed to get it serviced. Just imagine what takes to disassemble those watches.
Projects Watches also lets artists and designers create interesting, if less emotional, watches that sell from about $US 100. I keep telling myself I should buy the Till Watch but keep forgetting. This is a watch that tells the time in words using hands
I bought an Everyday Special 11 years ago as my wedding day watch. Means I can never forget my wedding anniversary, as its literally written on the hands!
Have you ever saw Alexander Shorokhoff collection? What do you think of it? Personally, I think is very similar in some way to Mr. Jones. Great review!
I like the quirky sense of humour so I was considering getting one of these for a while, but I wasn't mad on the style of the lugs/strap, so I went with a Vague Sailing Snoopy watch instead.
I have the Ricochet by Mr. Jones (aka Pinball Robots). Here are some of my opinions about it, in no particular order: - The Sea-gull jump hour movement, while simple and probably a bit inexpensive, is fun and keeps good time. - The watch's spacing in the design of the viewing window and the numerals is so good that it's surprisingly - a little uncannily - legible. - I hadn't been sure if I would enjoy such a bright watch, but now that I have one, I'd say the color temperature and balance makes this a warm watch much more than a bright one. - It's cool that Mr. Jones offers a good variety of straps, too. I bought the Ricochet on the vegan leather (vinyl, I suppose) and that was good. - Mine had actually needed to go back to Mr. Jones for repair of some minor dial defects (during warranty period). The staff were friendly and helpful via email, and so It doesn't bother me that I had had to send the watch in. I would be happy to buy from Jones again in the future.
I bought the quartz The Accurate, mentioned in this video but not shown. It’s a fairly normal watch except for the hand saying “remember” and the minute hand saying “you will die”. 😂
I can easily foresee that giant Swatch group will buy Mr. Jones company in a few years for a some millions of dollars and it becomes a part of Swatch Group alongside with other mass population brand of Swatch, or they make it a part of brand/line inside Swatch.
