What a great match indeed! I remember watching it live on TV back in 1991, as a 10 year old! The whole of Pakistan prayed with those two ladies! Brilliant last over by Waqar Younus! He was a beast at that time!
We were listening commentary on radio pakistan today after so many years i watched this on u tube. I remember we all residents of our locality were listening on a single radio on a road side. The traffic were stopped shops were shut. Thanx u tube.
Wah.. Kya bat hy.. I remember.. My mother don't like cricket.. When we saw match on TV.. And pakistan in curial contion.. My my mother always take a tasbeeh and pray for pakistan 😍😍😍 golden days that was
The two sisters in the crowd were the true highlights of this match. I was 12 years old, and remember waqar younis last over heroic, and two praying sisters.
I remember watching this match as a kid. This was the match that made me a huge fan of Waqar and cricket as a whole...Golden memories of my childhood😊😊😊
still have goosebumps...I remember watching that game back in November 1991...when Bishop dispatched Waqar for a six on 3rd ball of the over we thought that this six took Pakistan's chances of winning the game. Remember this was Pakistan's third game of the tournament and they lost both of their opening games (against WI and India) and this loss could through Pakistan out of the tournament. After this win Pakistan defeated India in the next game and met the same opposition in the final and came out as triumphant.
thanks for uploading an old age memory of my childhood of 1991 October match in Sharja., Pakistan Had lost her two early matches, and this was so crucial to be in the tournament, and finally Pakistan won the match, indeed Pakistan won the trophy later on in this tournament
I remember this match very well. At that time we call waqar younas I think Gojranwala Express 🤣🤣. This was best time of my life. At that time I was just 11 years of old and now I am about 40. heard to imagine that time passt so fast. But I am happy that I spend my young age in very very nice atmosphere. God bless Pakistan 🇵🇰 and God bless the world 🌎
I was 8 years old that time and in class 3. I watched and enjoyed this lovely final match with my mother and brothers. Unforgettable due to the sisters praying emotionally for Pakistan. Luv u Pakistan
Remember watching this match as a young kid. Reminds me of the wonderful times gone by and of course, this match turned Waqar into a world-famous fast bowler working in partnership with the other legend, Wasim.
He was already a world famous bowler before this Sharjah tournament! He became a household name in 1990 first against the WI in a 3 test match series followed by another series at home v NZ
This match made me Waqar's fan n I started bowling fast after seeing him.. I still remember that day when I was too too small just mainly because of these 2 women in the picture praying 4 Pakistan's win n both of them became the National stars over night..They have so deep impact on our memories that even after 33 years, this match is remembered less because of Waqar's bowling n more because of their praying gestures.. May they live long n healthy.. Ameen.. 07. 03.2023
At that time I was a student of class 10. Waqar was new comer in cricket but generate extreme pace. Waqar younas known as a BOOREWALA EXPRESS. Pakistan won this match due to genuine fast bowling attack. That was the golden era of Pakistan cricket under the captaincy of The Legendary Imran Khan.
Waqar younis injured his back shortly after pre World Cup 92' imagine a peak waqar younis bowling with the white ball with wasim in the world Cup under lights
Ahh good old times, when the world was safer, life was simpler and ordinary people would put their countries ahead of themselves. Salute to the sisters, I at the time and now have huge respect for nationalists like you. Pakistan zindabad
I was is in islamgarh, mirpur, azad kashmir, pakistan when pakistan won the world cup in 1992. Watched the final in a small cafeteria. Wonderful memories alhamdulillah.
I remembered watching this game back in time when I was a young teen, the cricket world have never seen such a lethal bowling pair the two “ws”watching now setting in UK what an era of paksitan cricket when the two W” stunned the world with their magical fast/reverse swing bowling.
Pakistan lost first two matches of the tournament , almost out of the tournament then won this third game by just 1 run & beat india by just 4 runs in the next one qualifying for the final where they defeated india to clinch the tournament.
I watched this match with my family members at home, I was an intermediate student then...I remember this nail biting match...good old memories...superb bowling attack from Pakistan👌
I saw highlight of this match, both pak supporter these ladies were und er focus of this camera. Pakistan came back in this tournament after defeating west indies with 1 run and Finally won the tournament.
It's would be great for morning shows to bring these two ladies and see where are they and what are they up to. These were great memories in the evening watching the match.
remember watching as a 7 uear old kid and my father after watching these two ladies praying said to me ," remember my son, god doesnt interfere to change results of game, who plays well wins is the decided rule of god".After seeing pak win i was proud of my team performance bcz they won by playing well. goosebumps.thanks for reminding me that golden time.nice share
at that time ladies remained elegant that they atleast prayed from heart, kept their dopatta on head and didn't overjoyed even at win. such was the time of simplicity which is not apparent nowadays
Who say that miracles don't happen and prays are not answered I am 200% sure Pakistan won that match just because of those twin Pakistani sisters emotional excited nervous totally into it must have been praying their hearts out through out the match as we can all see specially in the last few extremely tense and excited.overs Salam and appreciation for their patriotism
he was seriously quick during his prime time, I remember in the early 2000s during a tri-series in England, he was bowling nearly 150kmph, u can imagine how quick he was in the early 90s.
@@searchfortruth6889 Yes brother. Even in his last match against India in 2003 WC he was bowling in 140s. Strange today we get excited when Shaheen and Rauf bowls around 145.
Before 1992 leg side but Very close to wickets delivery was not wide bowl . After some months cricket laws change and then every leg side delivery is wide . But in 1991 law was deferent.
Actually this was the time when the players used to play for the pride of Pakistan but not for the price for themselves, because each play they played was fascinating and full of excitement, the people would die for their defeat and triumphed on their win, people used to pray for their success in their prayers. But now the the cricket has become a source of money and fame, the players who are selected, have some backdoor recommendations, because today's cricket has lost its genuine aesthetics.
Well those days, winning a match against West Indies was nothing less than winning a series or a tournament, West Indies- most feared team of all time ….

Those two girls were praying genuinely, but they realized that camera was capturing them repeatedly, so they tended to give serious and emotional expressions.

Prayers played their role. I was a kid at that time, can never forget two sisters whose prayers won it. The most exciting match in ODI history.

It would off been absolutely spectacular seeing Waqar bowling fast and furious in his prime on Australian wickets 🔥🔥🔥
Pak vs Wi match took place in the year 1991. Richie Richardson was the captain.
In 1990 Viv Richards was the captain of Westindies team
I remember this game clearly Waqar was generating extreme pace on this docile Sharjah pitch -
One of the best ODI finishes ever with Pakistan being on winning side.

Wasim Akram the greatest bowler of all time SHOAIB THE FASTEST AND WAKAR YOUNIS THE MASTER
Ohh Bhai is waqt speed gun nhi thi Waqar ki speed zyada thi clear 100 m/hour
