What scares me is not so much the NUMBER of visitors, but the fact that these people give the impression of being completely indifferent to what they see, but live only by the fact of being in this place!
It's not a visit to a country, you say. Like the tourists in the Met Museum of Art in NYC who were ranning through the rooms saying "we saw 4 Rembrands, 6 Cezanne's, etc. without looking at the pictures,
don't go to Italy in the cities in July August, people don't understand that you need to first know the habits of the places you go to before travelling.. In Italy it's like this: August everything is closed for holidays and you only see tourists around, Italians go sea, it's very hot, visit Italy in October or May...
Its been over 40 years since i was last in Rome, thing have change a bit, lol. Best way to see Rome, is to get friendly with the locals, and thay will show you the true Rome. (Love the video)
if you are a tourist who goes where the crowds go it's like this, in July and August especially, there are beautiful places where you eat well and they are not those for tourists...expand your vision and go where the mass of tourists don't go... .go where the Romans go to eat, and it's certainly not those places..anyway in Rome you eat out..not only in Rome, I live in Turin and here too you eat out a lot in restaurants...😏
@@sylviedhancarville4486 My wife and I want to take our daughter to Rome next year for her 16th birthday. She wants to go see Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum, etc... What's the best time to visit places like that? I have anxiety and PTSD so I really don't want to deal with these ridiculous crowds. We also want to see more of Rome/Italy that isn't swamped with tourists.
just spent 4 days in rome staying at the romanico spa hotel about 10 mins walk from spanish steps , no way will i go in high summer again thousands of people and unbearable heat and the worst thing hordes of people tryin to sell you crappy bracelets, they pretend to be your friend and offer you a free bracelet then the begging starts, its horrible , if i go again it will be late october.
Tragically true that tourism is not the financial answer for any country. Not sure what the answer is other than getting our hearts back and out of our heads. Tourism also invites entitled and arrogance. Somehow every nation needs to be self sufficient and get along. Whether they want to or not. Peace!
It’s certainly an incredibly beautiful city, but how people can wander around Rome in such hot temperatures is beyond me. It’s the worst possible month for sightseeing in the city. And so many bald men not wearing hats - that’s a potential recipe for disaster later in life. Just hope they’ve got a high protection factor sunscreen on their scalps. We visited at the end of July 2018 on a cruise excursion and it was pretty unbearable.
Rome is a fine city, but mid-Summer is most definitely not the time of the year to visit. We did just that on a cruise excursion from Civitavecchia and it was unbearably hot. We pretty much spent the day searching for shade. Never again!
We just visited Rome Italy. The hot weather is so bad. We had to drink a lot of water all days and nights. We couldn’t walk so long under the sun. It’s too hot.
I love the pantheon, it’s my favorite building in all Rome, but I’d never go there to see it because of the crowds and the price. Many more important things in life to invest in!
This looks so crowded! I'd rather wait until the off season. I went to the US earlier this year and was surprised how chilled it was with the tourists (mostly British) - maybe because people went to Europe? :)
but saying that the buildings and roman ruins are truely awesome, a must if you like that sort of thing , the hop on hop off bus i got for two days for 3 people was 75 euros which is excellent value
August is the hottest time of year in Rome, all the locals close up their businesses and go to the beach for most of the month. In the past I would have thought if you could put up with the heat, you might get a good deal on hotels etc., but there are so many tourists there now I don’t think any time is low season anymore!
Wow estuve en Roma en el 1998 cuando vivía Milano Monza ,y luego fuy de nuevo en el 2005 viviendo in Uk Gracias Dios🙏 disfrute Eran tiempos más relax y menos people. Bendiciones❤️
The fact that so many agencies + Tickets + visas is taken such a lot of money upfont before you land there and then you find with your land's exchange rate you can affore not a lot to enjoy or put into the economy of the land that you are visiting.
Desperate people on their two weeks plus or minus vacation allotted time. Sad that this is what the world has come to. Over population is the root cause of just about all our problems. Young people, THINK before you bring more children into this world. THINK about what their lives will be like.
Back in the late 70s and early 80s everybody walking the streets in downtown Rome always wore nice clothes and dress nicely. Nowadays all the tourists wear shit clothes

Excellent comment. And they go through life exactly as you've described. It's not a visit to a country but an exercise in futility.
Well stated both of you.
If its Tuesday it must be Rome, Wednesday Paris, Thursday London. I loathe these tourists. I bet a third of them are Chinese.
Far too many people there in the summer. No way would I want to visit Rome at this time.
maybe its the only time I can go
Can you see how many muslims are there? one too many.

Very beautiful and elegant, Rome the epicenter of European civilization and religious piety, very interesting and inspiring

Beautiful, thank you for doing this.
Venice is that way, also, even in November, in narrower streets, no trees.
Very Beautiful great walking tour
What is the point of going there? Walk around and look at phones?

You hardly see any local in August, just tourists. August is the vacation month
Always look forward to you videos to see whats going on. Cant wait to go back. Thank You. Great Job!
Thanks for the compliment my friend
The crowds are insane!! And there's no way I would eat outside at one of those restaurants with everyone walking around my food.🤢

It's hot because in the summer it's hot throughout the northern hemisphere. Maybe in US they installed air conditioning on the street too 😂😂😂
❤ROMA 🎉 Grazie!
Why would anybody go to Rome at this time of year to fight all those crowds?
Wow! its difficult to enjoy with that many people. Never travel in summer. Spring and autumm best.
Even winter ( I visited in January, 40 years ago, it was awesome)
Visited Rome and left mid June , crowds just starting to become a bit hectic but it is a fabulous city , enjoyed video .
Thanks for watching

All tourists and zero Italians (who are on holiday in August).

June and September are better months for visiting. It is important to avoid tourist traps. Find restaurants far from main attractions. Ask a local.
Still too hot and too crowded, particularly September
