I'd say that while this game may not be as big of a success as what Hoyo or Project Moon has done, PGR is important to Kuro. Comparing to other gacha games, PGR doesn't have a fanbase or income as big as them, but still manages to improve itself and stay competitive as a game itself. Hell, having a collab with NieR, Black Rock Shooter, collabing with the music composer for Ace Combat series, and recognised by musicians for constant releases of banger soundtracks.
I don't think PGR is a failure. It's more of an experience of watching a game studio growing up with the game.

  • @Briliantless
    @Briliantless 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +40

I know the title it clickbait but I think it is wrong to say PGR a failure
The best thing to do is to compare it to its competitors such as Honkai Impact and Aether gazer (action combat with 3 characters and one new character release per month/patch) and those games even make less money than PGR surprisingly
Usually these types of game doesn't make much money and Kuro knew this but these games will act as investment or vertical slice to make a bigger project (Wuthering waves, Genshin impact) because is it easy to attract investors if you already experienced with 3D action games
Also with all the complex animation in PGR I am not surprised if Kuro already has mocap studio and that itself already impressive
Lastly the cost to run the game also determine the success I will say PGR is one of lowest cost gacha game right now, they just release one character per patch and add new stages and music compare to Honkai 3rd and Aether gazer they need fully animated 3d cut scenes and voice their story content
And I would say Kuro make tons of revenue with the merch if you look at CN social media
Another thing if you look at Kuro office from their streams yeah, I don't think their workplace is saying their products is failure

I dropped every other gacha after I played PGR. It's the most respectful to your time gacha I know, it takes less than 10 minutes to complete dailies. There are not that many characters as in al, but all of them are detailed and well written. Major downside is new player experience though

As a day one globlul player... Having a look back at the game I stuck with for so long highlights how much better we have it, in the story, the character designs, in the gameplay department and variety of modes as well as extra permanent ones. It's by no means perfect, but goddamn is it ever good. KURO's actually marketing for global now that the EN favorite Crimson Weave is here, and I hope they keep doing so. Wuthering Waves is also on the horizon, and I can only hope both games help each other grow.
As an addendum: there's plenty of smaller creators on YT and especially on Bilibili who make wonderful content for the game, but you do have to look for said content.

Is4 is so much more depend on skill compare to the other is ,no more of that dice ballsh*t in is3, no more of that useless rng card shit in is2 , the mechanic is just so much better .

I love how so many people think PGR is a failure while we global players just keep on eating good on literally every patch moving forward.
My first gacha are hoyo games (First is HI3, then Genshin and HSR). Tried many others including Arknights (quit it cause I'm both a lore/story and combat player and I'm overwhelmed by AK's plethora of story) and other obscure ones. Then I tried PGR during Luna's release and it became my favorite gacha game in general.
Now, I only play PGR, R1999, and Genshin (but solely for the qrchon quest only).
Literally the only gacha game I respect. As long as they keep their feet on the ground avoid shit like the initial release. It's not perfect but currently, the good far outweighs the bad.

Lack of advertising (until recently), too many mini games and forced trial characters, no Blue Rose for global players and zero chance of it ever coming back. But the combat and guaranteed f2p S rank makes up for it. At the same time I think they’re shooting themselves in the foot cause people like me feel like there’s no need to spend to enjoy PGR.
For me, it started to not be worth spending because a lot of content is just farming a very easy event stage, doing mini games and playing roguelike modes with trial characters. Only place you’ll be able to take advantage of a highly built constructs is maybe Paincage and Warzones but you don’t really get much out of tryharding there and it’s very doable even with outdated characters.

sincerely, played since the begin and to me is the best gacha out there... the 100% banners too me carry an imense parcel of it of course, like, i lost 3 50/50 in genshim and get 3 qiqi and them when the first anniversarry came that tehy give us 3 eggs and 3 chickens, i simplely quited and never turned back, and i don't even want to, with the new 3 year scandal and they never inovating the combat, never buffing character that need it like denhya, and not even introducing new weapons, like knuckes or dual swords, genshin is just a cashgrab and it allways will be...

Funnily enoguh I got Crimson Wave, her signature weapon and her pet just by farming 22K BC (and with a couple of lucky rolls) so just to thanks Kuro for the good work I bough CW's skin (even if I didn't like it that much) and Bianca's white flower field skin with the set and everything, I am not someone who spends a lot of money in gachas, actually that is the reason why I got away from FGO and hoyo's games the gacha, the skins... everything is just so fucking expensive and unfair.
In PGR I have got all the S rank characters from the last 4 expansión and more (I started to play in Nanami SF event and I got Nanami ST, Balter, Rosseta, OG Alpha, Selena Cap, Liv Luminance, Karenina Scire, Hyperreal, and more recently Lucia CW not counting all the other A rank characters I already have decently builded) just by playing and then I got more than enough budget to fucking buy skins which are also cheap compared to other gacha games (and you even have ways to buy some of the cool looking ones for FREE!!!), so far I am really pleased playing PGR, fun gameplay, top tier waifus, a "fair" gacha (I mean if you really want to have a character in SS+ you have to spend a lot of money, but for a Gacha is reasonable).
I am happy getting my characters even if it is just at basic S rank (it is possible to upgrathem to SS for free :D) building my teams, buying sexy skins (I am impressed by the fact that the memories are free even the META ones, in other games like HI3rd similar gear would be also tied to gacha) and the characters are so charming and cool to use that Lee and Watanabe are making me question my sexuality (Lee's sexy looking bloodborne skin will be mine :V).

These day see how their player said it got more better and the pc client do help since this game best experience are indeed on PC. There is one aspect that I do give Kurogame credit with PGR and it's the game optimization on phone, I used to play it on potato phone and it suprisingly run at 30 fps, phone these day that have 128GB with 3GB/6GB Ram are relatively become cheaper each year so getting this game on your phone will not ve a big deal at all if they manage to do so in their next game Wuthering wave with the game optimization file size compression unlike most games with for some reason dish out 100+GB then that should be a medal of honor for Kurogame to have stable accesebilities.

I keep my monthly 5€ subscription, cause Kuro deserves my money. They made an amazing game, that is extremely fun and isn't greedy. I take my time in getting characters and dont spend any money outside of the monthly sub I just said.

Day one player here, pgr is the one and only gacha I've ever played more than 2 months consecutively, I still played the same account non stop since day one. The thing is, it has an actual combat system that makes it very fun, but is it as its peak? Absolutely not, I mean yeah, a lot of qol has been added over time, but the new characters are all too overpower to the point it ruins the game itself, for example lee has auto dodge when spamming basic atk and s during orb attacks while in hypermatrix, alpha has auto parry and a rotation that goes like "hold dodge, press ult, hold attack, repeat". So at the end, pgr for me is failing to provide characters that are challenging to use and competitive at the same time like it used to do with plume, garnet and almost every old character

Yes, PGR its a failure, it doesnt generate enough money as a gacha game (which is the purpose duh) and the rate of active users isnt increasing in big numbers either.
The game is also way niche for a mobile game compared to games like Arknights (surprisingly) because the first impression of the game just sucks on release and in-game.
The story doesnt have a hook at the start, the cool combat doesnt appear until much later and the events are strictly catered towards veterans and not new players. Lol
They should have done the introduction like Snowbreak did, Snowbreak combat isnt as flashy or complex but its enjoyable because they keep giving you this sense of progression, different line up of enemies appear with each chapters introducing newmechanics to play around, in PGR that doesnt happen, you just walk through corridors, smash some buttons to beat some robots and you do that until chapter 8 btw

Damn, didn't know how shady kurogames was as a company. Makes sense why they chose such a brand name.

I will throw my tomato at PGR. I tried to play it at the EN launch. EN release was a sht show. They just literaly stole players gacha currency. The store was a tottal scam. Gameplay needs your concentration and skill (i'm skill issue's embodiment). Weapon banner exists, if I remember correctly. So considering all of these things plus remembering that game has only ONE chance to take off - PGR was a failure at that time. Well, at least for me. I don't understand to this day: why the fk did Kuro Games do that? They so confidently shot themselves in the leg, it just makes no sence at all.
But at least people enjoy it now.

PGR has a fundamental flaw for a gacha game, it requires a modicum a skill unless you whel.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it still requires skill even if you whale. Otherwise, you'll still get beaten by other players

Played pgr for like a month or so and dropped it because combat was just not enjoyable - candy crush mechanic is shit, all the difficulty talking was a lie since never felt like its hard, and losing felt more like being unlucky, loging in and playing overall felt like a chore, story taste like a dog water and many more flaws. Tbf not surprised its dead on global, and from my perspective it isnt dead in cn only because they doesnt really care what to play unless its a gacha and theres tits.

@@guardiansoulblade2673 oh really, max difficulty is actually difficult? Thanks genius, totally makes sense, not like people were talking about overall difficulty when recommending a game.
