I am so thrilled that there are cross stitch shop opening here in central Massachusetts. I actually live 5 minutes away and I had no idea until I watched your Flosstube. Thank You! I can’t wait to go there.
Nice to see you again! I loved your talk of London and your upcoming trip on the Queen Mary II. I am American and lived in London for 5 years. We moved back to Ohio last year, and I miss it terribly 😢. In my cross-stitch life, I am working on Miss Valentine from Nora Corbett. So much sweeter in person than in the photo! My most recent finish is the 2023 Nutcracker from Shannon Christine Designs. Lots of beads, but I love him. You stay dry in this rainy season. See your next video soon.
London is such a wonderful city, isn't it? It's a place you can spend a lifetime and still have more to discover, I think. Miss Valentine is such a sweet stitch! I love the flowers in her skirt. Beads can be a pain to do, but so worth in the end, aren't they?
Hi Deborah, always good to catch up with you on FlossTube. Glad that you still posted a video even with lack of stitching, it happens to us all and life is definitely more important 😊
Thank you, Judith! I did manage to get caught up on my Summer ABC this weekend too. The break was necessary, but I'm glad to be working on things again.
I enjoyed todays video. I’m interested in the new stitch in the fancy box. I love how creative some of the designers are. I am working on the Little House sampler that came with the new Classic Colorworks thread that was released at the Nashville market. It’s a quick stitch, but pretty. Have a great rest of your week. 🌷
I popped over to Casa Cenina immediately and purchased that Rahmenwechsel kit...I just couldn't help myself! .... and I live on the south coast of England, near Southampton, so I was pleased to hear about your Atlantic crossing idea - what a super thing to do!
Hooray! It's just such an amazing kit, isn't it? And how lovely to be near Southampton! It's a part of the country I haven't seen before, but I am looking forward to it.
Hi Deborah Lovely to see you and have a catch up. There might not have been as much stitching but you certainly had some other wonderful things for us to see. The Lego was brilliant and I would so love to see The Orient Express . Take care my friend and give Doc and Wesley a big hug from me. P. s. I love your sweater! 👵 x. Look forward to seeing you soon.
Hi Molly! Always lovely to hear from you! Doc and Wesley send their hellos back. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, even without any stitching. I'll definitely plan to show the Orient Express is an upcoming video too. And re: the sweater: thank you! It is my current favorite.
Hi from the north Oregon coast. I loved this video. There were so many things that I have never seen before. I like seeing it all. I really liked the Lego set you showed us and would love to see the Orient Express in all its detail. I have never done Legos but love bonding with my grandnephews in their love for them. I have mentioned before that I love the book review section and today was even more wonderful with the added mention of the video series. Thank you so much for the content you bring. I always look forward to the next video.
I’m a relatively new subscriber and really enjoy your channel. My best friend is a Yorkie and laughs at my love of phone boxes and tells me that nowadays they don’t smell so great. A few years ago I went to York to run the marathon with her and stopped around mile 10 to ask a gentleman to take my picture in a Phone Box, which he and his friends thought was hilarious (and yes it was bit smelly but totally worth it).
This was such a fun episode seeing what else you do besides stitching. I had made these grand plans to do WIPGO this year but then totally fell off and got sucked into crocheting and knitting instead of stitching so I understand what you were talking about. Love the Lego London Phonebox and would love to do that one as well. The book subscription is a great idea, I have several of the British Library Murder compilation books on my wishlist here in the US and I am currently doing the "Read Christie 2024" challenge where we read one book each month and go from the 1920s-70s over the year. Can't wait to see what you do next.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I've learned over time that I am just someone who likes multiple crafts, and sometimes, I feel like this one, and sometimes I feel like that one, and I am just happier when I go with the flow. I have seen that Christie challenge, but I hadn't started in on it because I am trying to reread all of them in publication order this go around. I do love the idea, though!
Great to see you, and sounds like you’ve had some relaxation within your work days. Great haul you got. Your Lego phone booth is so cool! We have the John Bude books at our used bookstore where I volunteer. I also like the covers on the books. They are like the Batsford travel guides from the 1920s that Penelope Keith focused on in the PBS mini special series called Hidden Villages. Those walks sound excellent. I love all things British, especially their tv. I like all the cozy mysteries, Vera, Shetland, Midsomer Murders, etc. Also all the documentaries like Walking Through History, Victorian Farm Edwardian Farm. Way off cross stitch topic lol. Anyway, see you next time
Hi Linda! I definitely got some relaxation time in too! I figure that's what lets me get back to working hard too. The book covers are so much fun, aren't they? I think they hit on that idea very early on, to use travel posters, and it adds so much to each book, I think.
Deborah! Greetings from Dallas! Loved seeing all your haul! I’ve stitched Heirloom Tomato. It was a fun stitch and is in one of my display bowls. I’m also collecting the Fabulous House series. Getting ready to go to Stitch North at the end of the month. Going a few days early to do some sightseeing there in Toronto. Your trip to CA and Disneyland sounds like fun! Haven’t been there since the 60s when I was 5 or 6. LOL! Loved seeing your Lego project and would love to see the Orient Express, too! Happy Stitching!!!
We are getting a lot of heavy wet snow up here in central NH but I had today off, and tomorrow, too. Lots of stitching happening but also watched a couple movies I think you might enjoy. Both on Prime Video. The first is The Electrical Life of Louis Wain and is about the artist who made having cats as pets a popular thing in turn of the century England. The other is based on Mitch Cullen’s novel A Slight Trick of the Mind, which I read many years ago and loved. I was surprised to see that became a movie, but a name change. The movie is called Mr. Holmes and is just what you might think … Sherlock Holmes. An elderly Holmes. The book is a stronger, sadder, story and I prefer that telling but watching Ian McKellen play Holmes is a treat.
I hope you were able to get in lots of stitching on your days off! And thank you for the video recommendations! I have heard of both of those, and meant to watch them, but hadn't gotten to them yet. They are back on The List!
Deborah in the UK!!!!!!! Meet up???!!!! YES!!!! The first person I thought of too was Ros and can see she has already commented. We only live about 1.5hr away from each other so we need to make this work! Keep me posted!!!
Deborah love, love, love, your videos...my complaint is that they go so fast! Your Legos are the best. When my son was younger I tried doing his but was a failure 😮! Enjoy your week!
I would love to meet you when you’re in the UK! I am so tempted by the lego, but I need a new hobby with more stuff like I need a hole in the head. Have you read Mary Stewart?
Meet up, meet up! I was hoping you (and Sally!) would be game. We'll definitely have to make some plans. I read Madam, Will You Talk? several years ago, enjoyed it, and meant to read more ... and then promptly forgot. I must remedy that, thank you!
@@kensingtoncrossstitch Yay for meeting up plans! I think you would enjoy more Mary Stewart, although it's hard to be sure because they made some quite significant changes in the US editions. There's one where the UK version is really pretty incestuous (children of two pairs of twins who married twins), but the US version is a much more distant connection.
Hello Debra I've enjoyed watching all your flosstube's I started with number one. I can't always comment on your flosstube's because I can see better when I watch them on our tv. I do have a question. I have purchased Fetes et regions De France. Oh my goodness through I don't speak French the pictures are beautiful. My question: Are the charts stitched with DMC threads.
Hi there! No need to apologize about the comments! I mostly watch on my TV and have the same difficulty sometimes. I don't have that particular book of hers, but I checked some others I have, and it does look like the patterns are stitched using DMC, yes. I hope you enjoy stitching the patterns!
I am so thrilled that there are cross stitch shop opening here in central Massachusetts. I actually live 5 minutes away and I had no idea until I watched your Flosstube. Thank You! I can’t wait to go there.

Loved your flosstube today! On our second visit to London we ended our vacation with the Jack the Ripper walking tour! Loved your Lego finish!
Thank you! And aren't those walking tours so much fun? I learn so much every time.
You had me at haul! 😂 So glad you booked another trip on the Queen Mary 2! It may be a long way out, but that's more time to look forward to it!
You can't go wrong with haul! 😂 And me too! Lots of time to plan and dream. And it'll be here before I know it.

Haul for the win! And isn't it?!
Love seeing the Lego, very interested in seeing your Orient Express train! 😃
Thank you! I will definitely show off the Orient Express soon!
