Voyager popping out of quantum slipstream, covered in ablative armor, torpedoes and phasers blasting at capacity... It's then that the Borg learned the true definition of "Resistance is futile".
just lost my husband two weeks ago and he loved this cover.i had it played on his funeral and everyone had to stand up and salute for my husband during this song.it was very impressive and i felt my heart connecting with him telling him death may have won his body but our love won his heart and soul.thanks for this great music.everyone loved it
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You have my most heartfelt condolences, and I wish you and yours all the best going into the future. Death is never a comfortable thing, especially with those closest to you. I, amongst many others, will be able to empathise greatly with you there. I'm honoured that you had my music played for his send off, and I'm immensely grateful that I was able to create something that he enjoyed so much! May he rest peacefully, free from suffering, in Sto'vo'kor, Sovngarde, Valhalla, or to whichever ancestral place he may call home!
Logical? I dunno about that. It is, however, awesome. You gonna do all the Trek themes? I can't wait to see TNG and ENT done in heavy metal. To heck with TOS, though, that theme sucked, I don't think even Metal can save it.
+ShadowDragon8685 I have had plenty of requests for TNG/TOS, but I don't think there's any chance of helping the ENT theme. That one was just awful! Haha!!
I guess I was thinking more of the leitmotif than the title theme. I actually did like the ENT title theme, but it's a vocal, so... Kinda hard to change it up that much with metal. If you felt crazy, you could do a metal cover of the Star Trek Online login music. But that would be kind of absurd to ask, that mother's like, 17 minutes long and composed of ten or twelve individual tracks.
+ShadowDragon8685 It's certainly something I will consider, and look into how it might turn out. Aww, man, I used to love STO! Although only for the space combat. All of the ground missions were bland and monotonous!
The real reason Species 8472 became willing to make peace with humanity wasn't because of the ceasefire meeting and info exchange with Voyager. No, it was because when they arrived on the ship for the negotiations Janeway had Seven crank this song as they made their way to the conference room. Those who didn't immediately see the worth of humanity became terrified at the thought of what pissing us off would do if we make stuff this awesome for FUN!
Captain_Meatshield Just don't ever stop. If you don't get known by the masses in your lifetime do not be deterred. I'm confident that history will prove your excelence. You've got the gift.
I don't know what I'd make of being known by the masses. It would be awesome, if it did happen, but if I were able to make a comfortable living doing this, I would be a very happy man. Thanks for the kind words! :)
Captain_Meatshield I came here sober. Then I toked. then I came back and then I drank. I came back and realized that it was all good. How old is this channel?
I've had the channel since March last year, but didn't start getting serious with it until the start of this year. It's been slowly growing over the last 6 months, and with the release of my TNG metal cover, it absolutely exploded!
I'm not a huge metal fan in general, but in this case...BRAVO! This is marvelous...I love it! You did a great job representing one of Star Trek's greatest series...and my personal favorite!
I... thought I didn't care for metal... but then I heard this. It's just beautiful. Lovely. Gorgeous. I cannot believe my ears. Somehow, the electric guitars just work. They have so much emotion and power, and work so incredibly well expressing the Voyager theme - one of my very favorite themes. Apparently, I like metal. Or at least your metal. Thank you for opening my musical mind. Seriously - I am blown away with how good this sounded. I am going to explore more metal styled music now. You have shown me a new world. That's kind of Trek, really. Thank you.
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it and that you took the time to explore a new frontier! :) Metal is, in my opinion, one of the most diverse genres of music, and there are so many sub-genres that there really is something for everyone! I wish you well on your voyage of exploration! :)
What did you think metal was? Just a bunch of noise? Don't always believe stereotypes. Metal is the most diverse and talented genre there is, most people just don't think there is melody involved which is way beyond ridiculous.
My exposure to metal was annoying 20-somethings being Very Angry and playing what sounded like caterpillar tractors being ground up in a gargantuan blender whilst fifty-foot robotic fingernails were dragged across football-field sized chalkboards - and all of this done Much Too Loud, as in permanent deafness loud. This meant that I associated metal purely with anger, sexual frustration, idiot man-children, and severe ear pain. Not a good basis for musical appreciation at all! But, along comes the frankly quite amazing Captain Meatshield and a whole new world has revealed itself to me. Metal is art, and like all art, it clearly can be done poorly - or in the case of mister Meatshield, done very, very well indeed.
To be honest with you, Giant-Tractor-Blender-Robot Metal intrigues me! :P But, I do know what you mean. There are some metal bands that I just can't listen to, be it the style of the music, or the vocals. Again, though, this brings me back to why I love the diversity within Metal. There is so much variety, from the sludgiest drones to sweeping melodies. Again, Thank you, Jen! :) Wonderfully kind words!
Next Generation was my favourite series but I always preferred Voyagers theme, as much as I loved Next Generations. This was beautiful on a whole other level. Well done and thank you!!!
I love Star Trek Voyager. My hero of this series are Neelix, Seven of Nine, Lt. B'Elanna Torres, Lt. Tom Paris, Cmdr. Chakotay, The MHN, Capt. Kathryn Janeway, Ensign Harry Kim, Kes.
Thank you very much, dude! Aye, a lot of time and effort goes into the metal covers, but when they turn out well, it's so damn worth it! Especially for kind words like yours! :)

Captain, I am detecting large quantities of precious METAL in this system!
This song is so great even Tuvok would head-bang to it.
Haha! Thank you! I can just imagine a Pon-Farr induced mosh pit in a cargo bay, or something!! xD
He plays it during his Pon Farr
That would be illogical.
