Excellent! A good tip for attaching your seat to your board is using Velcro. This way there is not so much pressure to get your seat position perfect. I only use Velcro on my seats.
Thanks bro! Yes, velcro is ideal for testing out setup (I talk about that at 6:32) and I also know about a few guys who also use velcro as permanent fix. However, I lost a seat that way because an incoming wave ripped my seat of the board when I was walking through first bank: because of the beach breaks were we surf we.mostly walk as far as we can before we hop on our board, that saves energy paddling through the first whitewater lines.
Hello ! I love your videos so inspiring and I have used many of your tips and videos to get better 😁 I was just wondering if you could please do a video on duck diving ! Thank you ❤🎉
Hi Nicole! Thanks, so happy to hear these videos are helping you out. The duckdiving video is on my to do list. In the meantime check out this very interesting article with a solid written explanation on how to duckdive roll: futuremayhemproject.blogspot.com/2010/11/duck-dive-rolling-and-vortex.html . Stay tuned and I wish you all the best for the coming Wold championships in South-Africa. Keep ripping!
Thank you for encouraging wave skiing. I have an old Australian wave shooter which has given great service, heavy, bomb proof but still fun. I happen to be very thin and noticed that the points of contact in the seat were very close, so I have boosted the bucket shape to improve support and grip. I also changed the lap strap to a Kangol Magnet seat belt buckle which is a huge improvement. I’m intrigued as to where you get the foam seat pad?
Thanks John! Good to hear, you're experimenting and finding out what works best for you. I'm not familiar with the Kangol Magnet, but if it works for you and is safe, than it's great. My seatpad is from MACKSI USA, all the foamblocks I experimented with to elevate the seat are from the local canoe shop. They don't sell it, it's actually rests of packaging. But you can possible find these block in your area when you Google 'eva foam'. If you tell me in which country you are, I can possibly tell you where to find the nearest seatpads.
@@StartWaveskiSurfing salut. I’m in the UK. Sadly I once surged Manley, but bude had to do now. The kangol is a 1960’s uk car seat belt, it’s a chrome plated steel hook which had a neat magnetic release handle, a very good action adjuster helps. They are not made any more, so bits have been replaced with titanium when they rusted away.
@johnsherborne3245 ah ok , I've looked it up yesterday and came across info about that car belt. Didn't find a good picture, my only concern is if it would open fast and easy enough in critical situation just like a quick release belt we commonly use nowadays. In UK check with Hobson Kayaks and Jemski Waveski for seats. Jem Howe (Jemski) is the one who gave my the great idea of glueing the seat with carpet glue spray. Works best from all the things I've tried.
@@StartWaveskiSurfing believe me it does come off easily, just as long as it doesn’t turn over and face inwards. However as a white water kayaker, being upside down a bit while rolling is not that big a deal!
