Aloha 'oe! Remember that whatever trees you cut down, and ESPECIALLY any O'hia Lehua lāʻau (Metrosideros polymorpha) MUST STAY on your property to prevent the spread of Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death, or ROD!! SUPER important. Also, if you have any large tree ferns (Kupukupu 'āmaʻumaʻu), you can kind of dig them up, put them under shade and later you can plant them where ever the heck you want as they will come back and are very valuable. I'm a landscape architect from Maui but have 6 acres up on Alanui Uakoko way over in Fern Forest. You already know, I'm sure, BUT, be very aware of RLWD (Rat Lungworm Disease) and AVOID contact with snails or slugs and FOR SURE don't eat raw veggies! Anyway, JUST subscribed and Mahalo nui ~ Aloha noho'i ~ ~ ~

At that speed, it might take 2 years to properly get a foundation that will be stable. And you need to find a way to get that water to drain. Otherwise, you’ll end up with water problems for years even after building. Just my 2 cents.

I have to thank the algorithm for leading me here. Rooting for you both from the Matobo Hills in Zimbabwe. Wishing you all the best.

I know y'all are excited about your home. Wish you had told how big property is and to satisfy us nosy subbers how much it cost. It looks secluded so I would like that. Plz mention time frame for clearing and building. You will obviously need a bull dozer.
