I don't usually like full blown farming games, like Stardew Valley or Doraemon SOS. My favorites are simulation games that may or may not include farming, and if it does, it's not the main focus or it's more chill. Like My Time at Portia/Sandrock, Wylde Flowers, Spiritfarer, Ooblets.
hey I have suggestion: maybe you can put the name of the games at the bottom when in your intro / compilations. sometimes I see glimpes of games that look amazing but I cant figure out which game it is from the short snippet you show. Like 0:21 caught my eye immediately, but not sure what it is. sunhaven maybe?
I liked Coffee Talk as a concept, but got concerned about making the right drinks. But this Tavern Talk game... Fantasy stuff like that is up my speed! I wonder if the demo you mentioned is on Switch, maybe I could take a look! Also yes to Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood! I fell in love with that one! Still don't know how I got the best ending right away! How??? You mentioned some good cozy games! I don't know what you may have played, but I would love to add some favorites if you don't mind! Of course, there is no farming in any of these! I love farming, but like you need a break from them! I did make a slight exception due to my forgetting, but it's only a small piece of it. Starting with... Kaichu. This was a game I picked up on a whim and fell in love! We are Gigachu, a pink Kaiju looking for love! We get to pick gender pronouns which is interesting. Funnily enough, it defaults to chu/chu. From the beginning, we have access to our six potential love interests. We go up to one, ask them out, and then we take our date to some historical landmarks. And as our news anchor, Brevity, puts it, "There's a language of love in the leveling of landmarks and each strike shows compatibility." So, we answer questions during our date, to which we get the translation of these questions through Brevity. Pick correctly, and we will be good! (Don't worry about the first date though! There's a certain question that seems to get a bad reaction no matter what.) If the landmark has been successfully destroyed and you answer the very important question in the end correctly, our date ends in a kiss! If we did well, we blow a kiss, which is still cute! Doing bad... Rainclouds. As the story plays out, we get it through our World Breaking News Anchors Brevity and Lucky. I also love as we go forward, we get a couple name! It's a short game but I love it for the price we pay! Also, the title and credits song? I love them so much! The other songs are beautiful too! Next up.... OneShot. This game may not be cozy to some, but it sticks out to me. I love the game so much for it's characters, the unique way the world is handled and also... Well us, the player. We get a special role as well, and our adorable Niko gets to talk to us. My recommendation is to play the World Machine Edition, but if you play the original release, that's fine! I just prefer the World Machine Edition because of the little additions. I won't say any more, because this game should be experienced blind! Next my personal favorite of last year, playing it at least.... Cult of the Lamb! I want to stress that I know some people won't find it cozy, but I can't tell you how many hours I sunk into this thing. A friend who helped me get it called me obsessed! 😹 When we are at the base, all I have to hear is Start a Cult, Work and Worship, Praise the Lamb among others and my fear at the moment simply melts away. I can not explain the calming affects these songs have on me! This even includes the spooky sounding, but also lovely, Blood Moon festival. What also helps the cozy vibe for me? Accessibility options! Especially with the latest update. I love that it's there for people who want it! I could go on and on about the many visual novels I love, but I will focus on a favorite of mine. Kitty Love. If you don't like typos, this visual novel may make you go crazy. But then why is it my favorite? One the premise. Two, the ability to just outright pick who your love interest is. The premise is we play as a girl who has been working at a flower shop for a while now. Sometimes on break or after work, we will go to the park and interact with the cats. But one day, we say something we shouldn't have when around a very mysterious black cat. We are jealous how easy cats have it. So we wish we were a cat... And it seems the black cat decided to make our wish come true and we are an adorable white cat! Naturally we don't want to stay this way! So the way our cat curse works is we become this adorable kitty at night while during the day we are a human girl. And our new kitty acquaintance makes it clear what we need to do. We need to be kissed by someone who loves us. Otherwise well... We will be stuck as a cat! We have five options to pick from after the prologue. And while there is an option people recommend you play last... I played his route first! Not saying who, but it put the other four routes into perspective for sure! For a lot of people I could see the typos being a big drawback. These typos are just in English though. For me, I just figured out what was being said and just switched it in my head. There was only one line that super confused me though. Finally, I want to mention a game that I have been playing a lot lately which has actually taken me out of a dark place. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. It's the humor of this game that really brightens up my mood! Plus, I absolutely love the Narrator and I bear him no Ill will towards some of the things he does to me. I don't want to spoil anything as there is so much to see! Also as I guess has been established on another TH-camr's stream, I guess I am a bucket now! 😹 Apologies for the long message, just thought I would mention some of my favorites too!
@@angelfieseler5358I believe it is at this point! I love the drink mixing mechanic. I am always worried about the latte art in Coffee Talk so having a different way to meet goals is great.
Absolutely love Narrative Driven Visual Novel type games. Tavern Talk is definitely one of my most anticipated upcoming ones, with me even going as far as to back it when they first launched their kickstarter.
Discounty seems like my kind of game! I'm a big fan of shop management games like Winkeltje and Recettear. But what truly piques my interest in the same genre is "Trade Tales." It's surprising to me that not many people seem to be discussing it. It could be the best one once it comes out!
I love watching people play video games but have been struggling to find ones that i enjoy and i think this is it. I really appreciate the recommendations and I'm going to sub 🙂❤️
Good video. Talking of simulator games, I've spent far too much time cleaning things in Powerwash Simulator. It's unbelievably satisfying and relaxing. I can listen to TH-cam videos or podcasts while I play it.
If you like the concept of Tabern Talk you should DEFINITELY try Strange Horticultur. It's almost the same thing but your a botanist that provides plants with magical properties. Your client here also ise them for their own purposes and often come back to the shop and talk about what happened. You can choose to give them different plants. You also go put to find new plants and you have to learn about them in order to choose the correct plant, since at first you know nothing about each plant. It's very cozy and I finished it in less than a week. (It also has puzzles and an interesting magical story)
I just started playing Minami Lane and I highly recommend it. It’s hard not to blow through the game in one sitting. I’m hoping the developers add more to it.
My favotite cozy game that has nothing to do with farming is Garlic Builder. It was such a lovely game for the price and I was bummed when I finished all the levels because I wanted more!!
I've played the Tavern Talk demo on my Steam Deck and I really like the concept! The only caveat is that it is not Steam Deck verified and the controls are a bit difficult if the handheld is your primary means for playing steam games.
Honestly most demos will not be steamdeck friendly because that kind of optimization usually comes later on for a lot of game devs! I would imagine based off of the simple mechanics and because it will also be coming to switch- that it most likely will be verified upon fully release! We’ll have to see!
I want a "cozy" zombie apocalypse game. Like Stardew & Sun Haven meets zombies. Build a base and community, save people and have them join you. Zombies have the difficulty of enemies in Stardew/Sun haven, trying to break into your base, etc. I love the whole zombie vibe, but a lot of the games are so demanding. I want a chill one. lol Also with settings like Sun Haven. They have amazing customization in the settings. It can have farming, BUT you could also choose not to and just hunt or scavenge for food.
Hii! Do you have any more cozy game recs that aren't pixel art? IDK what it is, but I legit can't stand pixel art games, it has to be more animated for me. I'm also only on the Switch, so I'd love to see what your thoughts are!
Hey, I love Sun Haven...and you don't have to focus on the farming if you don't want! You can fight your way through it! But I, too, have been aching for something that's like a sim game, or a cozy game, but maybe not a farming sim.
I love sun haven too! It’s one of my favorite cozy games ever! But I do feel like I would consider it more like a farming sim than a life sim personally!
this is why you are my inspiration idol i just hit 💯 subs today you inspired me to be a cozy chaotic content creator thank you to you and every content creator who helped me and believed in me I love you from the bottom of my heart 💙🦥
Well another one to keep an eye out for is The Witche's Backery by sunnylabgames , but it's still in development and they don't have a steam page just yet
Oh and there's Pokémon cafe remix but I don't believe it has a mechanic to bake , I think it's more of a match 3 to gain ingredients , though I've never played so .....
I don’t know if it’s a genre, but I’ve found one of my fave genres is “photo taking” lol, I guess it comes under adventure. Think TOEM, Alba, Penko Park etc I love the taking pictures & documenting side of it 🩷
Yes, I want more life sim games that don't focus on farming but still have stuff like marriage and kids, etc.

YES! THIS! This is why My Time at Portia is my current favorite cozy game. Plus I don’t want to do the same thing over and over again. I need variety.
@@carlab30this makes me feel better about buying it on discount I hate that’s has not touch screen on switch!
I Was A Teenage Exocolonist is a great visual novel/narrative game where choices really matter. I definitely recommend that one!
