Salute to Griff... I got to meet him last weekend. Hope he reads this. I flew from Florida just to shop there. He helped me out and was an amazing dude. I only purchased 2 jackhammers and a vision 110 but man I wish I should’ve bought more. So Griff thank you sir for your great customer service. Hope you remember me..
I'm a tackle elitist and a certified a-hole. I can admit that this is the best presentation on hollow-bellies, hooksett and hookup ratio that I've ever seen. Bravo fellas! Damn!
Very good explanation on bending the hooks out man. I never thought of that. This video was seriously the best frog video so far. And I have watched alot of frog vids. Thanks guys
my favorite frog is the deps buster k an slither k but I do like that megabass, Gabot those three are my go to but I mean in my opinion its all about the action u present an also getting to know when to set the hook is the learning curve for most people using a frog.
For anyone looking for an easy to walk awesome frog check out the Nories Ebigaeru. Longer and thinner body makes it walk effortlessly and also allows it to get into super tight spaces. It also has a cupped mouth so you can just pop it, but walking it is awesome and that mouth causes a little extra water spitting. It’s actually got eyes on the back end and a single tail so it resembles a crawdad or shrimp or a bug. It really is killer. I would say it would be a great starting point for beginners new to walking topwater baits or even kids to get their first “frog fish” cause that elongated body and single tail make walking a breeze, but if they can’t quite walk it that cupped mouth and single skirt tail causes a good amount of commotion. It’s somewhat unique in that it can be very subtle and finesse or just walked and popped super fast and it’ll dart back and forth great. Forgive my rambling just wanted to put it out there cause I don’t see it mentioned very much. As the weather warms I hope everyone watching this sticks some monsters on frogs.
Great video I love a lot of the subjects that you brought up everything was on point one thing that I do to help me with setting the hook I do what griff said and wait till I feel the weight but another thing that I do is I don't use a hi seed reel I use a 6.3.1 that is the sweet spot for me because by the time I let that fish get it and start reeling it perfect for me thanks again
I've always thought about the hooks on frogs to not be good to bend out for the reason you stated . Never heard anyone else think about it this way , but i think we are on to something, as i do feel that is a valid argument. Also, why i don't like snell knot as i think it over exaggerates hook upward that i feel has caused me to lose fish. Good stuff guys.
Is there a specific video available outlining the multiple modifications you spoke about with the sprinker frog? If so could you link it here? I cant find anything
Could you give us ur top 6 frog rods. You guys forgot to show how some of the frogs go on the water like the sprinker frog. Love that frog. Thanks guys
Hi- I'm looking at the Orochi xx Ronin rod and haven't seen you guys cover it in any videos. On the megabass website it says that it is a medium light rated to throw 1/4-3/4 oz. baits and it's geared towards jerkbaits. Although it doesn't specifically mention it, I'm also wondering if this would be a good rod for throwing lighter topwaters (1/4-1/2 oz.) like poppers? At 6'8" it seems like it could excel in this application. Thanks for the awesome content!
Question for you folks at the hook up! I finally pulled the trigger on the gavacho and keara. After seeing all the hype, I received them and opened the packages to put them in my frog box and noticed the gavachos were extremely tough/hard to collapse. Could you all give any insight on this?
I've always heard people complaining about the hook on a Teckel frog, do y'all switch out the hook on them too or is it the hooks are fine and just people using improper equipment missing the fish through "user error"?
I like watching and seeing everyone catch bass on frogs, but when I think about how big those hooks are I just have this bad feeling that those fish will die later on so I tend to stay away from them. they do seem really fun though.
Ya no what i never had a prob with a frog hooking up before intill i started it pointing the hooks up.. well guss the one thing that i am not doing anymore lol
@@shadybanks8625 4/0 is what I use and I learned it form somebody else so I don't want to take credit. The hooks that come with the frog are just to close to the body and since it's a very hard plastic you just don't get good hookups.
@@thehookuptackle_usa so much love for it, but I'm like 3-12 on it. Missed some good ones and put them away. I tend to have a much high percentage with others. Anybody fishing Northern LMB? Their mouths tend to be a bit smaller than when I'm in CA or FL...perhaps that's the issue.
Griff is an awesome dude... I can tell there's a bunch of fishing knowledge in that man
a tip: you can watch movies at kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching a lot of movies lately.
@Samson Uriah Yea, I have been using KaldroStream for since november myself :D
Shout out to Griff for sharing some Froggin tips and speaking more than 3 words🤙🏻🤠

Absolutely love the jackall kaera frogs. Small compact but still cast a mile!!
Love the Kaera on a M/H rod with 30lb braid near sparse cover! Can cast super accurate and dance that baby in place!

Flew from Florida to Arizona just to spend $50+- on 3 baits 🤔
Jackall makes my favorite frogs! Kaera is also # 1!
I own 8 :D

I like the Koppers black frog at night. I've also found that the more fish you catch and break the frog in the hookup ratio skyrockets
Griff was a little too boisterous for my liking.
Ben the two of you put together a DYNAMITE selection of frogs.
griff does what the rest of us THINK we do.... Us normal folks slam a hookset on the blowup even after year of knowing what we SHOULD do
a ton of Griff gold in this one!!
Just got the Tekel in my BENto box. Can't wait to try it out.

The jackall offerings are hands down my favorites. Great frogs

Thanks Griff, I’m definitely going to try the “wait till u feel it” method bc I am king at swinging too soon
Man I can’t wait for the top water bites
Its coming!!!
And just like that I have JDM frogs ordered, killin' me over here lol
Sick video... froggin is awesome, already caught a few on a frog here in Oklahoma... going to have to order those JACKALL frogs
Very informative, nice job guys.
🐸 I definitely need to do some frogging this year. Griff is coming out of his shell. 🤣
Excellent points about the bend of the frog on hookups
I never really understood about the hookup angle being in line with the line tie and such. Thanks for the info and tips

Awesome. Love throwing frogs.
Thank you for watching!
Ben with the Geoff jabs is y I watch lol
The Gavacho is a special frog.
Agreed!
Unleash the Griff!
Awesome video Griff & Ben 🍺
Looking forward to getting one of these in my bento box in the near future 😉
Great video. Been using the same frogs for a while. 👍👍👍. Boat pool needs some bass in it to test the baits. 😀
Seriously though, when can a brother get a Deps Basirisky HB70 in Night Head?
Is there a specific video available outlining the multiple modifications you spoke about with the sprinker frog? If so could you link it here? I cant find anything
The OSP Spintial is the only frog where i just reel straight and bass go crazy.

Great selection
What are your thoughts on deps frogs? Not as favourite as these five? Any special reason?
Another good video! Can’t wait for frog season.
Would like to know y’all’s rod and line of choice.
I use a 7’3”XH Expride with 80lb FX2.
Great choice, they love the Megabass poker
I like the destroyer lilypad survivor for the kaera and smaller and the TS Destroyer Poker for everything else

Thoughts on cutting down or modifying the legs?
That's a preference thing ..I never modify my skirts but some do and like em shorter
Makes them easier to walk
Thanks, very informative...
Griff looks baked...
What do you guys think about the Kaera S2 Beat, the frog with the blades on the back? Ever use those?

deps frog?
Frog rods?
How Geoff likes it with a bulbous back end
I'm kind of surprised the Slither K didn't make an appearance
Heard “dope” enough for the next month... 😂
Do u dudes trim the skirts?

If you change the hooks out on the gavacho frog with gamakatsu frog hooks your hookup ratio will improve dramatically. Well known fact!
Do you use 3/0 or 4/0 Grammies?

Those hooks would be almost empty of lures if the store was on the East coast!
