So strange and humbling to see myself in a video on the internet, especially when I'm used to being a disembodied voice in a podcast or silent editor in a magazine! 😅
Huge thanks to Levi and the rest of the amazing Campfire team for letting me stretch my face muscles by putting this collaboration together. Keep worldbuilding, gang.

Another thing worth accounting for in desert environments is how badly the temperature drop effects many people; think "body heat equivalent of jetlag". Even if it doesn't become that cold, the switch is so quick and so steep that it shocks the body (naturally, some handle it better than others and getting used to this helps to mitigate the effects).
What also factors into this is that dessert cold is different from European cold; it's more "penetrating", the air it's less still and it's more windy. When visiting Europe, I was ok walking around in a t-shirt in 0 degrees, but 12 degrees in the dessert has everyone shaking under their coats.

    Wouldn't the Fremen overheat?
Their stillsuits deny the water vapor from taking the heat away. They would need air-cooled radiators.
