    I've been thinking about Rxb4. If Queen recaptures, we control the open file after Rb1. If pawn takes, c4 is more exposed now but the bishop can be opened up. The knight can be maneuvered to d2 to protect c4 and get out of the way of the bishop.

      The move is correct, well done!
      But the key idea is to find the second move after c:b. Could you try to find it?

    In the first position, how should I go about evaluating Nxc5 ? White gets two pawns and paired passed pawns for the piece and seems to have compensation but the position is unclear.

      Thanks for the question!
      Don't sacrifice if you don't have to.
      Unless you are absolutely sure, it's great for you.
      In this case, the compensation Is not enough.

    and it would be really good if you were take the board from the edge and place it a little towards the middle because whenever i pause to solve the puzzle i cant see the eight rank clearly

    Day 7. I've really struggled today to find any of the right moves. Just couldn't find the ideas you showed in the examples using these questions. On the homework puzzle I got stuck on question 2, I couldn't come up with an idea for Black. I think my brain melted and I couldn't solve it :( oh well, I'll keep trying

    Ok, white's first move is Rb4, black takes cb4, then white plays c5! and everything falls apart in black's position.After c5 there is no good move for black, if he takes on c5 with rook, then white plays Nc4 and attacks the queen on a3, and the bishop on g1, attacks the rook on c5.

    Your title of video equals chess puzzles for you are just showing a puzzle and what to do but your rules, questions are out of order in what is important first

    • @journeytograndmaster
      @journeytograndmaster  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's hard to understand what you mean without periods.
      There is no order. There is a method (the title is about it) that consists of 3 questions. All 3 questions are equally important.
      The puzzles are examples to demonstrate how to use the method.
      Hope it helps.

    It looks like black have the initiative in this position with control in the open b-line plus la4 coming. Maybe tb2 or tb3 to attack the queen. I dont know if i think in the right direction, because it seems blurry to me.

    • @journeytograndmaster
      @journeytograndmaster  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    • @paulplanken1650
      @paulplanken1650 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I see an interesting idea that you trade the rook on b4. And after taking back with queen you can take over the b-line with tb1. And if you take back with pawn i can push pawn to c5 and when take back with pawn or rook then Nc4 is possible with all kind of treats. I think this is very promising. What do you think about this suggestion? Also you can think in direction to attack at the kingsize because most of black heavy pieces are on the queenside. But i dont have clear idea how to start the attack on the kingside?
