After being around riders for thirty years, I can tell you, the most welcoming and generous people I've ever met all rode motorcycles. There is a brother and sisterhood within the motorcycle community that reaches past all the divisions of race, creed, and gender, and connects people on a soul to soul level that I've never experienced anywhere else. Glad Doodle saw the same things in ger investigation, but no surprise to riders who've been there and done that.

1st and foremost THANK YOU for being Doodle and for sharing what you love. Online, you garner respect for your honest, sincere love of bikes and your constant drive to improve (draggin' a lot of us oldsters along kicking and screaming n2 being much better and more skilled riders) and gain/share knowledge of all aspects of our passion...You also have a professional attitude that comes across in the way you dress and present yourself and your subject matter. The positive impact you have on the biking community as a whole and the inspiration you are to individuals is invaluable, kiddo. Please keep being Doodle and keepin' on keepin' on!

Great video Doodle. I have read Kelly’s book and discussed in our women’s self defense class trafficking’s horrors. Fortunately there are many more wonderful people out there (many are bikers) than bad people. We just have to be aware and prepared to do something if things go bad. I personally have encountered so many wonderful people in the world it makes me push aside the bad people. Just draw on lessons learned and listen to your gut instinct. Be safe out there and enjoy the journey.

All I'll say is, I'm former Armored Cav and a Cold War Vet (22mo on the E/W German Border). I've traveled cross country a few times in a car, and even I've reached the point where I'll carry if possible. Glad to see you have some self-defense training. As a Christian, I try to think the best, but I'm also realistic from my experiences. We had a girl disappear in my hometown that's never been solved, and I live in SE NH w/a private school that rich people go to as well as Abraham Lincoln's kid (Phillips Exeter Academy). This happened while I was in the Army. It never happened when I was a kid growing up here. The world has changed. Stay safe, God Bless.

I've been riding motorcycles for over 50 years. I consider myself a motorcyclist, not a biker. To me, a biker is someone who rides their bike with the end goal of winding up at a bar to drink and have a good time. I also think that when a person gets drunk, their true personality comes out. I ride a motorcycle for the experience of riding the motorcycle, not to create some false image or to bar hop. With that said, I think 99 percent of folks that ride motorcycles are good people that I would be proud to call a friend. Safe travels!

    Thank You Miss Doodle,
You are the reason I would go to a rally, the contrast would be "the lawyer" with NO self esteem. As a single Dad I always told my daughters they are allowed to wear whatever they are comfortable in, understanding the publics reaction will be on them to deal with. I've loved the biker lifestyle my whole life. That said, I stay away from those that profess to be ready to protect children or woman, but then they objectify woman regardless of how they dress or act.
I too travel alone, but by choice because I cannot stand most people. The motorcycle, like my mules allow me to get away from people and enjoy this world and it's views.
I appreciate your Beauty and optimism! When I recognize your beauty Young Lady, it's not the physical. Too few people don't appreciate the life that walks in front of them.
Enjoy yourself in all your activities and you will remain in my prayers. As a former "rape prevention" instructor on military bases, I encourage woman to go about life freely but hopefully prepared with self sufficiency and the ability to defend themselves.
    You are in my prayers
    Hoka Hey

First off, congrats on the Tiger900!!! I have a Tiger800 and a Sport 660, so you've chosen well. As a Rider I don't have issues with you, or anyone, going to rally's and such solo. The Rally is never my concern. The travel there and back, alone, is. As long as you make sure you have someone (hubby) who knows your POT, plan, and rough whereabouts, all is good. Come out and visit the West (I'm in Utah). You can literally ride over 100 miles in the desert without seeing another soul. No town, no traffic, no gas. That is when Murphy will strike, and that is when you have to be prepared.

I usually have a pretty new bike but ride a lot of miles but still perhaps the biggest thing to consider for me is if you have a break down being prepared to call for help.. I have thankfully not had this happen but it’s a machine even a flat tire is a breakdown.. just being smart and not putting yourself in danger is 95% of it.. love the videos

I don't see a problem with riding anywhere you want to alone. I've met very 1% bikers, and when I did see them, they bothered no one. In the biker community across the board, I've observed very polite and respectful. The motorcyclists I've met in my 17 years of riding have been very cool and helpful. I think you could not be in a safer company than with these bikers. If there's a problem with your bike, you'll probably find several bikers who will more than likely know how to get you on the road again. If someone intimidates a lady rider, it's a safe bet the culprit will be surrounded and encouraged to move on his way. This is how I assess the biker community. Ride safe and enjoy life!

This is so heartwarming! I started riding in 1969. Bikers are the people I identify with. As a CIS white man I know my life has been over privileged. Two of my three kids ride and if I’m around long enough I hope to teach my grandchildren.
You are one of my heroes! You are out there living your best life and sharing it with the world! Whenever Noraly (Itchy Boots) is asked where her husband is she always tells them she doesn’t have time for a man. 😂. Before the popularity of TH-cam we had to read books. Lois on the Loose is one of my favorites! She has also traveled the world, solo on a motorcycle. And one of the most inspiring people ever is Bessie Stringfield. Can you imagine in the first half of the 20th century, a black woman riding solo around the US?
I see Meg in your video. I started to watch her channel and I’m sure she’s a cool person to hang out with but it seems like 80% of her videos are closeups of her butt. I mean, it’s a nice butt but that isn’t why I watch motorcycle videos. Your channel and Jess of Her Two Wheels are what I want to see. Women who aren’t afraid to find the fun in life. Especially when it’s on two wheels.

You being a solo girl rider isn’t something you should tell anyone. Human nature is human nature if your wearing leathers or not. Like the lawyer lady said. Rich guys in suits are probably a lot worse than bikers. When I was coming up, there were very few girl riders. Now there everywhere. And I for one love it. Stay smart, and safe. Another excellent video. I really enjoy that you try and educate people on what it's really like being in the motorcycle community. It's safer than people think for the most part because as riders, we watch out for each other. Of course there are some sketchy people out there, but like Meg pointed out, sketchy people are everywhere and in every setting! Being a motorcycle rider has made my life better in so many ways from meeting amazing people, seeing places and things i've never imagined I would see, having more confidence in myself, being less stressed and feeling welcome in any setting even if I didn't know anyone at all. We need more riders and videos like this to help reduce the negative stereotypes of being a motorcycle rider. Thank you for all you do.

As a female who rides, I’d say that riding alone is just fine! The way I see it, riding has its own risks, and life in general is full of risks. Sure, things can happen, and when we choose to ride, we have chosen a lifestyle with risks, but also great rewards. Women who ride are not fearful types, which, in my opinion, makes such women less of a target.

im sure this will be perceived wrongly, but its just how it is. im 53 now, and grew up in the biker community. Sure the bikers in the 70's to early 90's were perceived as brutal pervey tough guys, but honestly, they were family oriented and very protective. You could trust your children around them, the worst thing that would happen would be us kids learning a few new "words". its when "all inclusivity" started being a thing, thats when the random weirdos and creepers started inter mingling at rallies and bike events, and when us old schoolers try to intervene in situations...its us that are cuffed and carried away.

What non riders don't seem to get. Women riders tend to be a rarity in our chosen passion. Most of us are more interested in making sure you keep riding than trying to "pick you up". The second thing they don't realize? You ride? You're cool! You can debate make/brand/model all day long at the watering hole. On the road, you're family. I've stopped countless times for riders I see broke down or even on the side of the road making a call just to make sure they're cool.

Thanks for posting. Worried about riding alone? Check out Itchy Boots. She has been riding alone world wide for years.

It's been my experience that the most aggressive, hateful and hostile people I've encountered while riding have been non-riders. The 1%ers I've met are either polite and friendly or they immediately show they are not interested in talking to me. I'm fine either way.

Follow your bliss. Stop looking for reasons why you can't. Instead look for reasons why you can. And if you can, you should.

Keep doing what your doing. The brotherhood and sisterhood on 2 wheels isn't like what Hollywood shows. In all professions or events you might have a couple of knuckleheads that try to ruin something enjoyable.

What surprises me most about theses rallies is the modern commercialism. Seems like it's all about making money with the endless tents full of products and high lodging prices

    I've always rode alone
    No plan to ever change.
    I'm not a groupie or a joiner, I'm a loner
and ride to GTF away from people, not be around them.
but then i have zero interest in clubs or gangs or joints even talking to other motorcycle drivers unless they come up and talk to me or ask me aobu tmy bike in a parking lot, and then i'm just friendly and talk about my or their motorcycle.

Love your content. Shows the other half of what it is to be a biker. It's not all wheelies and burnouts. The ride for adventure and experience unlike any other is a side that needs to be shown and you do it so well

Great video Doodle. I think this is a very thoughtful insight into what these events are like, though i think every persons experience is different. You dont seem like a person that makes unwise decisions or lets herself get into bad situations often. So being smart helps.. As long as you go into it with good intentions, then you'll get that back. Which is what your video showed to me. Last thought, I wonder what Meg's experience is like without her camera man (hubby?) at a rally. Not saying it would be bad, but just wondering.

It’s just a reality that women have to be a lot more careful when alone than men dk. It’s not that bikers are all dangerous people, it’s a sad fact everywhere.
It’s always more dangerous to travel alone for everyone, it’s just that women face an extra threat.
